Stitt, Butler Memorial set for James D. Berry III Elsie M. Brown, 92, of 1212 Chestnut St., Franklin, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, in The Caring Place. Born May 8, 1915, in Milligeville, she was the daughter of Lewis Milton and Elizabeth Longacre Chatley. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading and listening to country music. She was married Aug. 4, 1932, to Fred Brown, who preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Olive Elizabeth Latchaw and husband, Charles, of Clearfield; seven grandchildren, Beth Ann Bock and husband, Norman, and Edith Perkins, all of Niagara, Falls, N.Y.; Sue Carlson and husband, Tim, of Garner, N.C., Gail Latchaw of Albuquerque, N.M., Lisa Buchan and husband, Stephen, of Carlton, and Cindy Rice and husband, Mark, and Tom Latchaw and wife, Lorrine, all of Franklin; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by seven brothers, Lawrence, Glen, John, Tom, Lester, Milton and Jim Chatley; two sisters, Edna Statum and Margaret Stauffer; and a daughter, Dollie Latchaw and husband, Boballen Latchaw. There will be no visitation. A service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Quincey Rural Cemetery, New York. Helen Diane George Helen Diane George, 53, of 2598 Bredinsburg Road, Cranberry Township, died at 4:27 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Meadville Medical Center. The Timothy E. Lehnortt of 113 Manor View Road, Shippenville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, after a 15-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Born May 19, 1917, in Oil City, he was the son of Otto F. and Lydia E. Marchinke Lehnortt. He was a 1936 graduate of Oil City High School. He was a member of the "O" Club, played varsity football and was a member of the Annual committee, He played fullback for the Oil City Oilers football team that won the Section II Championship and the Skillen Cup in 1934-35. Mr. Lehnortt was stationed in London, England and Paris, France, for 45 months during World War II. He was awarded several medals during his Army service and served as the director of the Art Department Medical Field Services School which trained physicians and nurses in warfare medicine. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Mr. Lehnortt was employed by the Knights Life Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh which later merged with the American General Life & Casualty Insurance Co. He spent 14 months as an insurance agent before he was promoted to sales manager in the Oil City office. He served in this role for 30 years before retiring. Mr. Lehnortt was past president of the Tri-County Life Underwriters Association and also served as past president of the Clarion-Jefferson Life Underwriters Association. He was a graduate of the 1955 and 1956 Annual Life Insurance Marketing Institute of Pennsylania State University. He was married Jan. 16, 1958. in Lauffen, Germany, to the former Margaret M. Pfeilsticker, who survives. Following his early retirement from American General, he and his wife traveled extensively in Europe and the United States. He also enjoyed many hobbies including radio-controlled airplanes and sailboats, model trains and wine making. Mr. Lehnortt was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clar ion. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Dieter Lehnortt of Dallas, Texas, Kurt Lehnortt and wife, Shelly, of Mount Joy and Bruce Lehnortt and wife, Monica, of Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Lehnortt was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elaine Slater and Betty Lange; and two brothers, Jack Lehnortt and Richard Lehnortt. There will be no visitation. Dr. Deryl Larsen, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, will conduct a private service for the family in the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. Eileen W. Kelly Lynch Eileen W. Kelly Lynch, 97, of Holbrook, Mass., formerly of Emlenton, widow of the late George I. Lynch and Henry Merry, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007. Julia Patrick Julia Patrick, 92, of Polk Center, Polk, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007. Ruth P. Peel, 72, of Tionesta, formerly of Leechdale and Economy Boro., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home. Born Nov. 12, 1935, in Moon Township, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Marie Vilk Mason. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Venus and the Forest Grange. Mrs. Peel was the tax collector for Green Township, Forest County, at the time of her death. She enjoyed bingo. On Dec. 30, 1965, she was married in Virginia to William P. Peel, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Sherry P. Feifer and husband, William, of Monaca, Nancy Kutzner and husband, John, of Oakdale and Norma Freed and husband, Fred, of Freedom; two sons, Mark Peel and wife, Tina, of Beaver County and Paul Peel and wife, Kim, of Freedom; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one sister, Dorothy Price and husband, Richard, of Plum Boro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peel was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher Mason; one son, Michael Peel; and one daughter, Cathy Bell. Stitt, 58, of Cliffside Apartments, Butler, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, in the Butler Memorial Hospital. Born March 23, 1949, in Hannibal, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William T. England Jr. and Grace V. Grote England. Surviving are her son, Mitch A. Stitt and wife, Maria, of Leeper; two daughters, Michelle Hughes and Mrs. Robert (Maribeth) Harmon, both of Grove City; and seven grandchildren. She also is survived by one brother, J. Scott England of Colorado; two sisters, Kay Lauer of Michigan and Paula Peters; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Bopp, pastor of Grace Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating.
