Jewell, Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of Utica Jeanne Louise Marsh, formerly of 12 Edgewood Drive, Oil City Melvin E. 'Mel' Barton Melvin E. "Mel" Barton, 79, of Pine Terrace Road, Shippenville, died Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2007, in Bellevue, Wash., where he was living with his daughter. The Robert V. Jewell, 42, of 882 Jones Ave., Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of Utica, Pa., died at 10:22 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Summa Health System of Akron, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Utica fire hall, 146 Water St., with the Rev. John V. King, pastor of Lupher Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment and committal service will be at Mill Creek Cemetery, French Creek Township, Utica. A complete obituary will be published Monday in The News-Herald. Jeanne Louise Marsh, 86, formerly of 12 Edgewood Drive, Oil City, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home after an extended battle with Alzheimer's. Born March 27, 1921, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Ida C. Barvin Steckmeyer. She was married Sept. 14, 1946, to Thomas Leon Marsh in the rectory of St. Bernard Parish, and he survives in Bradford. Mrs. Marsh was a homemaker. She and her husband had lived in Warren, Pa., for 20 years before Mr. Marsh was transferred to Oil City with Penelec. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish while living in Warren. Mrs. Marsh was a member of St. Joseph Church for more than 23 years while she lived in Oil City, and she belonged to the church's Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was an avid bridge player. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Marsh is survived by one brother, Donald Steckmeyer of Indiana, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews, including David Marsh and his wife, Kristine, who helped the Marshes in their transition from Oil City to the Bradford Ecumenical Home. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Steckmeyer; and two sisters, Elizabeth Worth and Rosamond Sinclair. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave. Oil City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church in Oil City with Msgr. John W.
