    3. The Derrick, December 12, 2007: Roland G. Barrett, 1347 Madison Road, Templeton Ralph R. "Rick" Cozad, 19 Littler Pine Place, Franklin Joyce I. Hook, Shippenville Harry B. Shaw, 18 Pearl Ave., Oil City Roland G. Barrett, 81, of 1347 Madison Road, Templeton, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in Sebastian, Fla., Indian River County. Born Dec. 7, 1925, in Kellersburg, Armstrong County, he was the son of George Ross and Tillie White Barrett. Mr. Barrett was a farmer and started Ridgeview Farms in 1948. He also drove bus for 60 years, starting with the Ritchey Transportation Co. and in the early 1960s, he bought his first school bus. He also worked for the H.K. Porter Co. and Allegheny River Mining. In his younger years, he sang on WISR, a Butler radio station. Mr. Barrett was a member of the Kellersburg Evangelical Missionary Church. He was married Oct. 12, 1945, to Eileen Mohney, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Barrett and wife, Debra, and Eddie Barrett, all of Kellersburg; two daughters and their husbands, Susan and William Shrecengost of Distant and Sarah and Dwight Algoe of Mount Joy; eight grandchildren, Brian Barrett, Brent Barrett, Brenda Barrett, Bradley Barrett, Jason Shrecengost, Wade Shrecengost, Erin Mowrer and Emily Algoe; and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one sister, Pauline Constable of Leonard, Mich.; and two brothers, George R. Barrett Jr. and Robert A. Barrett, both of Kellersburg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Belle Barrett and Florence Lingen Pelter. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Ben Shindledecker officiating. Interment will be in the Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery, Madison Township, Armstrong County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA, P.O. Box 668, Knox, 16232. Ralph R. 'Rick' Cozad, 85, of 19 Little Pine Place, Franklin, died at 6:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin. Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Findley Township, Mercer County, he was the son of Ralph Marsden and Anna Elizabeth Barnes Cozad. Mr. Cozad attended Mercer High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Co. F of the 86th Regiment, U.S. Army, and also served in the 10th Mountain Division. Mr. Cozad drove truck for Meadow Gold Dairy and drove a coal truck for several years. He retired in 1984 as a driver for Pennzoil after 22 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Cozad enjoyed meeting with the Lunch Bunch. He was married Dec. 24, 1945, to the former Ruth Taylor, who preceded him in death April 13, 2006. He and his wife traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Richard G. and Robin Cozad of Rocky Grove and Gary L. and Debbie Cozad of Franklin; five granddaughters, Jaime L. Adams and Amy M. Brinkley and husband, Chad, all of Franklin, Jennifer L. Cozad of State College, Corrin R. Cozad of Reston, Va., and Kelly M. Cozad of the Dominican Republic; and two great-grandchildren, Elise Goodall and Cade Adams, both of Franklin. He also is survived by two sisters, Jerri Kay of Mercer and Midge Reagan of Georgia. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Cozad was preceded in death by three sisters, Lenora, Virginia and Mary Jean; and two brothers, Carl and Robert H. Cozad. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., Franklin, with the Rev. David Janz, pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City, with military honors rendered by V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. The family suggests memorials be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., Franklin, 16323, or to The Kirtland Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 108, Franklin, 16323. Joyce I. Hook Joyce I. Hook, 73, of Shippenville, died at 2:58 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, in the Clarion Hospital. The David C. McEntire Funeral Home, 504 E. Penn St., Knox, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Thursday in The Derrick. Harry B. Shaw Harry B. Shaw, 79, of 18 Pearl Ave., Oil City, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 11, 2007, in UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh.
