Gloss, Franklin, formerly of Hone Avenue, Oil City Leroy P. "Chip" Lloyd, Kittanning RD 2 Paula Jean Thompson, 2217 Old Route 322, Franklin Frank G. Boczon Frank G. Boczon, 84, of 210 St. Mary's Drive, Cherry Hill East, N.J., formerly of 16 Jefferson St., Oil City, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in St. Mary's Home in Cherry Hill. Born March 15, 1920, in Oil City, he was the son of Thomas and Agatha Ryzner Boczon. He attended Assumption BVM School and was a 1940 graduate of Oil City High School. Mr. Boczon was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a technical sergeant in the 702nd Tank Battalion, 80th Infantry Division known as the Red Devils. He saw action in England, France, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, covering 1,500 combat miles. He retired in 1982 as a millwright after 26 years of service, having worked at both J&L Tube and Van Huffel in Oil City. Mr. Boczon was a member of the Pulaski Club, PNA, Eagles and VFW in Oil City. He was married in St. Walburga Church, Titusville, Oct. 26, 1946, to the former Helen Kathryn Bajorek, who survives. Also surviving are three children and their spouses, Anthony and Frances Boczon of Fredericksburg, Va., Martha and Hollis Provins of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Francis and Ellen Boczon of Ellicott City, Md.; and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boczon was preceded in death by four sisters, Josephine May, Mary Pilarczyk, Sophia Wisnewski and Anna Maziarz; four brothers, John Boczon, Bruno Boczon, Stanley Boczon and Anthony Boczon; and an infant sibling. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Assumption BVM Church with the Rev. John Neff presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Gaston, 61, of New Bethlehem RD 1, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 30, 2004, in Clarion Hospital following a lengthy illness. The Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem is in charge of arrangements. Gloss, 82, a resident of Sugar Creek Station, Franklin, formerly of Hone Avenue, Oil City, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Jan. 7, 1922, in McMurray, he was the son of John and Anna Aggers Gloss. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 during World War II. Mr. Gloss lived in the Oil City area most of his life. He was a machinist at Worthington Corp. and also had worked at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. and Joy Manufacturing. Mr. Gloss attended First Presbyterian Church in Oil City. He also was a member and past commander of Oil City VFW Post No. 464 and also belonged to the PNA and the Pulaski Club in Oil City. Mr. Gloss was married Jan. 16, 1945, to Gladys Frances Gahring, who died Dec. 12, 1989. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jane Holliday and husband, Donald, of Rockland, Patricia Ann Wright and husband, Kenneth, of Franklin, and Katherine Ann Gloss of Franklin; two sons and their wives, the Rev. John W. and Gloria Gloss of Hastings and James L. and Mary Gloss of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Gloss was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City, with the Rev. John W. Gloss, son of the deceased, officiating. Entombment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery. Leroy P. "Chip" Lloyd Leroy P. "Chip" Lloyd, 56, of Kittanning RD 2, father of Jeffrey M. Lloyd of Oil City, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at his residence. Paula Jean Thompson Paula Jean Thompson, 43, of 2217 Old Route 322, Franklin, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Feb. 7, 1961, in Butler, she was the daughter of Paul J. and Florence Michael Thompson, who reside in Franklin. Ms. Thompson was a 1979 graduate of Franklin High School. She also was a graduate of the Venango County Vo-Tech practical nursing program. She was employed as an RSA at Polk Center. Ms. Thompson was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Franklin. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two children, Marine Lance Cpl. Patrick A. Thompson of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Rachel Ann Lenhart at home; and her longtime companion, C.J. "Butch" Lenhart. She also is survived by a brother, Marshall Thompson and wife, Cynthia, of Louisville, Ohio; a sister, Brenda Markwell and husband, Michael, of Sandy Lake; and three nephews, Michael Ferringer of Sandy Lake and Andrew Thompson and Daniel Thompson, both of Louisville, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and one uncle, Thomas Michael. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Franklin, with the Rev. Sandra Jones, pastor, officiating.
