Jack, RD 1 Emlenton John Klinko, Jamestown, N.Y., formerly of Oil City Shawn Michael Schubert, Seneca Helen C. Shreve, formerly of East Sixth St. and Towne Towers Helen Arletta Fair Helen Arletta Fair, 72, of East Fourth St., Erie, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Clearville. Born Feb. 25, 1932 in Wakeman, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ethelberta (French) Hartman. Mrs. Fair was a 1949 graduate of Berlin Heights High School and a 1979 graduate of Clarion State University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in rehabilitative services. She was employed as a supervisor of group homes for the Gertrude Barber Center in Erie. After her retirement, she was employed at the U.S. Post Office at the Kraus Department Store, Erie. She was also a homemaker who raised her family with her husband Robert, a career serviceman who served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict, having lived in the Panama Canal Zone, Heidelberg, Germany; Fort Benning, Georgia; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and Rockland and Butler, Pa. Mrs. Fair was a member of the Sweet Adelines of Venango County. She was an amateur photographer who participated in many exhibits in the Erie area. She also enjoyed playing piano and reading. In 1952 in El Paso, Texas, she married Robert Lee Fair, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Fair is survived by six children: Robert Kelley Fair and his wife, Judith Hiott, of Houston, Texas; Scott B. Fair and his wife, Christy, of Smithville, Texas; Daniel L. Fair and his wife, Jutta, of Attica, Ohio; Pamela K. and her husband, Richard Hershberger, of Clearville; Bonnie M. and her husband, Robert Panabaker, of Millville, Calif.; David A. Fair and his wife, Cindy, of Macomb, Mich.; a sister, Lois and her husband, Donald Smith, of Berlin Heights, Ohio; and two brothers, John Hartman and his wife, Kay, of Berlin Heights, Ohio; and David Hartman and his wife, Linda, of Warner, N.H. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Champion. A memorial service will be held in Berlin Heights, Ohio, at a later date. Interment will be held at Berlin Heights Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Fair to the charity of one's choice. Alfred L. Jack Alfred L. Jack, 83, of RD 1 Emlenton, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, following a short illness. Born Sept. 23, 1921 in Titusville, he was the son of Judd D. and Awana D. Davis Jack. Mr. Jack was a self-employed farmer and coal contractor and operated Jack Brothers Construction. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the American Legion Miller Rankin Post 636 in Foxburg. He was married on Feb. 3, 1942 to Muriel Y. Ritts, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Richard Jack and his wife, Jill, of Seneca, Ray Jack of Strasburg, Va., J. Jack and his wife, Vieve, of Emlenton, Scott Jack of Hereford, Ariz.; six daughters, Carol Rhea and her husband, Ted, of Woodstock, Va., Muriel Weaver and her husband, Jack, of Knox, June Rich and her husband, Bud, of Ludlow, Rachael Jack of Union City, Beverly Boorech of Knox and Dottie Dunkle and her husband, Tim, of Rocky Grove; 30 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and a brother, Dennis Jack of Emlenton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Jack, in 1989; a great grandson, Michael Renfrew, in 2001, and a brother, Karl Jack, in 1989. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Richard Osberg, pastor of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Rockland Cemetery. John Klinko John Klinko, 84, of Jamestown, N.Y., a former resident of Colbert Avenue, Oil City, and an employee of the A & P, uncle of Edward Thorpe of Dempseytown and brother of the late Edith Thorpe of Oil City, died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Jamestown, N.Y. Shawn Michael Schubert Shawn Michael Schubert, 22, of Seneca, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is in charge of funeral arrangements. A complete obituary will appear in Friday's newspaper. Helen C. Shreve Helen C. Shreve, 90, formerly of East Sixth St. and Towne Towers, died at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Beverly Healthcare in Oil City. Born Jan. 25, 1914 in Crawford County, she was a daughter of George B. and Augusta Smith Carpenter. Mrs. Shreve was a 1932 graduate of Oil City High School and a graduate of Feller's Beauty School in Erie. She was a self-employed beautician for many years and previously worked at Armstrong Collier Beauty Shop and the Transit Beauty Shop. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 78 years. She was also was a member of the YWCA Gallivanters and Salvation Army Auxiliary. On Sept. 9, 1942, he married Richard L. Shreve, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1991. Mrs. Shreve is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edwin J. (Mary Ann) Cook of Cattaraugus, N.Y. and Susan E. Withers of Seneca; two grandchildren, Christine Cook of Jamestown, N.Y. and Sean Withers of Seneca; a sister, Charlotte Schettler of Hiram, Ohio; two brothers, George Carpenter and his wife, Eileen, of Paris, Tenn. and Robert Carpenter and his wife, Helen, of Kissimmee, Fla. and 15 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Withers. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron K. Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Visiting Nurses Hospice Care or the Oil City Library.
