    3. The Derrick, Tuesday, January 11, 2005: Dorothy A. Yashinski Belfiore, Oil City Jack Doyle, 674 Grant St., Franklin Winfield Scott Hartzell, 43 Alexander Lane, Brookville Eugenia M. Jolley, Oil City, formerly of Second Avenue, Rocky Grove Lynn H. McCandless, 119 Lower Saint George Road, Kennerdell Jane Rankin Morrison, Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Seneca Chester E. "Sonny" Hartzell, getting it right Dorothy A. Yashinski Belfiore Dorothy A. Yashinski Belfiore, 87, formerly of Luther Place and Pierce Avenue, Oil City, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, after an extended illness. Born Feb. 6, 1917, in Titusville, she was the daughter of Anthony and Edith Anthony Yashinski. She attended the Oil City schools. Mrs. Belfiore was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph Church. She was married to H.M. "Honey" Belfiore, a well-known barber in Oil City for many years. He preceded her in death April 3, 1982. Surviving are a son and his wife, Lee and Teresa Belfiore of Bonita Springs, Fla.; three grandsons and their spouses, Lee and Renee Belfiore of Chesapeake, Va., Mark and Kim Belfiore of Simpsonville, S.C., and Kent and Sue Belfiore of Fairfax, Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Harry and Ben Belfiore of Chesapeake, Va., and Sara and Jonathan Lee Belfiore of Simpsonville, S.C. She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dolores Struss and Mrs. Ray (Merilou) Gutowski, both of Oil City; one brother and his wife, Tony and Peggy Yashinski of Kennerdell; and one niece, Debbie Masters of Oil City. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cele Miller; and a brother-in-law, Jim Struss. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor of St. Joseph Church, presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Jack Doyle Jack Doyle, 81, of 674 Grant St., Franklin, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Sugar Creek Station. Born Aug. 1, 1923, he was the son of George and Emma Everell Doyle. Mr. Doyle attended public schools in the Polk area. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operation. Mr. Doyle owned and operated Doyle's Café at 1310 Liberty St., Franklin, from 1946 to 1953. He was employed as a letter carrier by the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in December 1985. During that time, he also was in the construction business with his brother and built several homes in the Franklin area. Mr. Doyle was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and served on the board of trustees and several other committees and also was an usher. He also was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the Franklin Elks Lodge No. 110, the National Association of Letter Carriers No. 184 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Doyle was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was married Nov. 26, 1942, to the former Delores Crawford, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Jack Doyle Jr. and wife, Darlene Graham, of Franklin, Fred Doyle and wife, Yvonne, of Polk, Tim Doyle and wife, Brenda, of Clarks Mills and Randy Doyle of Utica; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by nine brothers, Bob, Allan, Tom, Brod, Ralph, Frank, Hemin and two in infancy; three sisters, Genevieve Brannon, Betty Stewart and a teenage sister; a granddaughter, Randi Doyle; and a grandson, Fred Doyle. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin, with the Rev. James Shaver, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1100 Liberty St., Franklin, 16323. Winfield Scott Hartzell Winfield Scott Hartzell, 87, of 43 Alexander Lane, Brookville, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Brookville Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1917, in Knox, he was the son of Aquilla A. and Hattie N. Bell Hartzell. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a staff sergeant in the European Theater of Operation. Mr. Hartzell was employed as a carpenter-contractor and was part owner and founder of Jefferson Builders. He was married to Martha M. Smith, who died Feb. 25, 1985. Surviving are a son and his wife, Scott and Wendy Hartzell of Brookville; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Vickie) Haywood of Greensburg; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hartzell was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in charge of the McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. Eugenia M. Jolley Eugenia M. Jolley, 85, formerly of Second Avenue, Rocky Grove, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Beverly Healthcare, Oil City. Born March 16, 1919, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Frank and Enas Gezzi Arman Tolone. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School. Mrs. Jolley worked for 25 years as an expediter at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. She was a member of St. Patrick Church. On Oct. 25, 1947, she married John J. Jolley, who died Oct. 1, 2000. Surviving are three children, John J. Jolley Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Utica, Steven Jolley and wife, Dottie, of Oil City and Darlene Mitchell of Morrison, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Carl Jason Jolley of Utica, Eric Jolley of Hadley, Neal Jolley of Sandy Lake, Jaffee Jolley of Pittsburgh, John Walker of Oil City, McGee Grampp of Reno, Heather Mitchell of Edmond, Okla., and Colby Mitchell of Okmulgee, Okla.; and eight great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters Connie Harton of Franklin and Evelyn Girard and Dolores Vidnic, both of Paso Robles, Calif. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jolley was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Tolone. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert A. Manning officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Beverly Healthcare, 1293 Grandview Road, Oil City, 16301. Lynn H. McCandless Lynn H. McCandless, 73, of 119 Lower Saint George Road, Kennerdell, died at 8:53 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Feb. 18, 1931, in Butler, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn G. McCandless. Mr. McCandless was a graduate of Butler High School and had lived most of his life in the Butler area. During the Korean War, he served in the Army with Co. A, 761st Tank BN, Reserve Command, 3rd Armor Division, 3rd Platoon. Mr. McCandless had lived in the Kennerdell area for the past nine years. He had been employed as a cost and design engineer for Du-Co Ceramics in Butler for more than 30 years. Mr. McCandless was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church. He loved woodworking and the outdoors. Mr. McCandless was married Sept. 26, 1964, to Sarah Jane Roberts, who died Oct. 4, 2004. Surviving are two sons and their wives, William and Cristy McCandless of Kennerdell and Jack and Julie McCandless of Butler; and eight grandchildren, Austin McCandless of Kennerdell, Lynaia, Megan, Christian, Marissa, Nathan, Caleb and Milena McCandless, all of Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Rockland United Methodist Church, 4357 Kennerdell Road, Kennerdell. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Shawn Goodwin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. The Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City, is in charge of arrangements. Jane Rankin Morrison Jane Rankin Morrison, 82, of Austintown, Ohio, who along with her late husband, Glade Morrison, were raised in Seneca and attended Cranberry High School, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005. Getting it right Chester E. "Sonny" Hartzell - Chester E. ":Sonny" Hartzell, 71, of St. Mark Church Road, Knox, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Among his survivors are a brother, George "Tim" Hartzell and his wife, Judy, of Knox.
