I have a Theopholis Smith b. c 1812 probably in Armstrong County d. 1886 Porter Twp., Clarion County. He married Jeanette Girts. Their children were: Isabella, Sarah, George b. c1855, Clara b. 1858, Nancy b. 1863, Assemuth Jenette b. c 1864, Maggie Ida b. c 1869, Emily b c 1852, Anna E. b. c 1853, Rossana b. c 1856. Theo possibly had a first wife and possible children of this marriage were John, Archibald, Mary, Martha. Circumstantial evidence indicates that Theo b. c 1812 was the son of Theopholis Smith b. c 1780 Ireland and Martha Lowry b. c 1780 Ireland. Theo c 1780 died between 1850 and 1860 and Martha died after 1860. She lived a long life but off hand can't recall when she disappeared from the census. They also had sons, John d. 1854, Benjamin d. 1863, and William. They lived in PlumCreek Twp., Amrstrong County (now South Bend Twp.) Martha's father was Adam Lowry b. c 1750 Ireland d. 1840 and Nancy Adams 1757-1810. One of the county histories says that they came from County Derry, Ireland in 1788. Any connection to your Smith and Lowry families?
