Hi Eunice, How far back does your EVANS go in Clarion County? I'm spinning my wheels regarding my Mary EVANS, born c1831. Her daughter's death certificate states she was born in Clarion County where she lived. However, Clarion County wasn't established until 1840. In the census records for 1840 they are listed in Armstrong Co., PA, but after that Clarion Co. My Mary EVANS probably had 4 brothers that were hash marks in the early census, however there was one Jesse EVANS, born about 1836, with his parents, George and Barbara EVANS, who I believe was her brother. I lost track of him after 1860. I'd be grateful for any leads. Thank you, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: <C21eunice@aol.com> To: <PACLARIO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 16, 2005 5:13 PM Subject: Re: [CLARION] Clarion Surnames for Roll Call > Hello > > My surnames Are: Delp(h), Smathers, Guyer, McKinney, Bagnell/Evans, > (Maternal) > Murray, Hollingsworth, Wagner (of Rural Valley, > Pa) (Fraternal) > Hanahan(Hanaghan, Whalen and Sklopan > (Croatian) (husband, > > Eunice Sklopan > > > ==== PACLARIO Mailing List ==== > Visit the Newly updated CLARION County, PA USGen website! > http://www.pa-roots.com/~clarion/

Martin Levoid Evans was born in 1912. I have no information about him except that his wife descends from Clarion County people who moved to Kansas. Several families went together and had huge farms in Leavenworth Kansas. See the Aarons of Crates book at Clarion Historical society.
