Kahle, 68, of River Road, Clarion, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Clarion Hospital. A complete obituary will appear in Monday's newspaper. The Goble Funeral Home & Crematory in Clarion is in charge of arrangements. Sylvia G. Moore Sylvia G. Moore , 84, of Colonie, N.Y., formerly of Lawsonham, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in Albert Einstein Hospital in New York City following a long illness. Born, raised and educated in Lawsonham, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Perry Montgomery. Mrs. Moore relocated to New York City 60 years ago and worked in the food service industry as a waitress, most recently at the Blue Sea Restaurant in Manhattan. She was married to Edwin G. Moore Sr., who preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are two children, Susann DiRusso of the Bronx, N.Y., and William E. Moore of Colonie, N.Y. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a son, Edwin G. Moore Jr. She also is survived by seven cherished grandchildren; a sister, Lois Bickler of Middletown; and cousins and family in western Pennsylvania. An inurnment service will take place at a later date in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. Arrangements are under the direction of the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home Inc. of Watervliet, N.Y. Howard Lawrence Schultz, formerly of Oil City, died March 20, 2007, in Northwest Medical Center in Coconut Creek, Fla. Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Oil City, he was the son of Rose and Joseph Schultz. Mr. Schultz graduated from Staunton Military Academy and then Cornell University where he met Nancy Siegel and they were married in 1954. After serving with the U.S. Army in Japan, he returned home to work in the family business, the Oil City Variety Store. In the 1990s, Mr. and Mrs. Schultz moved to Maryland where Mr. Schultz owned One Stop News in the George Washington University Mall. An avid runner since his teens, Mr. Schultz competed in numerous marathons. He loved books, crossword puzzles, old movies, bridge and golf, and most of all, he loved his family. Surviving are his daughters, Amy Strauss of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and Carla Schultz-Skraly of Westboro, Mass., and their spouses, Michael Strauss and Sam Skraly; and his grandchildren, Schuyler and Zachary Strauss and Chloe and Madison Skraly. He also is survived by his brother, DJ Schultz of Pittsburgh. Burial was in Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, N.J., next to his beloved wife, Nancy. Nancy Siegel Schultz, formerly of Oil City, died Dec. 16, 2006, in Hackensack University Hospital in New Jersey. Born July 25, 1933, in New York City, she was the daughter of Harry and Celia Siegel. She attended Bronx Science and then Cornell University where she met Howard Schultz and they were married in 1954. While her husband served his tour of duty with the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan, Mrs. Schultz taught remedial English to U.S. soldiers stationed there. Mr. and Mrs. Schultz returned to Oil City where she became an English teacher, first at Rocky Grove High School and then at Oil City High School, and earned her MA from Allegheny College, Meadville. Up until the day she died, she was in contact with many of her former students who spoke of the influence and impact she had on their lives. A firm believer in the power of education, Mrs. Schultz enrolled in Duquesne University Law School at age 40, commuting the 90 miles each way at night and continuing to teach during the day. Upon graduation, she became a public defender and then established a solo practice. In the 1990s, Mrs. Schultz and her husband moved to Maryland and she became corporation counsel for the District of Columbia. In 2000, they retired to Coconut Creek, Fla., and Lakewood, N.J. Surviving are her daughters, Amy Strauss of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and Carla Schultz-Skraly of Westboro, Mass., and their spouses, Michael Strauss and Sam Skraly; and her grandchildren, Schuyler and Zachary Strauss and Chloe and Madison Skraly. Burial was in Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, N.J., next to her beloved husband, Howard. Shirley J. Reagle Vogus-Burke, 74, of Tavares, Fla., died Jan. 26, 2007, at home with her loving husband, William L. Burke, and caregivers after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Born Feb. 25, 1932, in Titusville, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Velola V. Reagle. She was a graduate of Titusville High School. Mrs. Vogus-Burke sold Avon Cosmetics and Beeline Clothes and also worked at Oil City Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a certified nursing assistant for Polk State School and Hospital for approximately 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was married Sept. 2, 1950, to Clarence I. Vogus, who died Nov. 11, 1992. In 1995, she moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and was married Feb. 24, 2001, to Bill Burke of Tavares, Fla. He survives. Mrs. Vogus-Burke was a member of the Lake Square Presbyterian Church of Leesburg, Fla., the VFW Auxiliary and the Aqua-Knots Boat Club. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed swing band, line dancing, ceramics and being creative in the art of crocheting. Although she had many interests, her great love was spending time with her husband, Bill, and helping her children and their families. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are his five children, Mike, Barbara, Judi, Bobby and Steve; a brother, Darrell Reagle of Ohio; two daughters, Connie Hedglin of Cordes Lakes, Ariz., and Col. Diana Bodner of Folsom, Calif.; a son, Major Ronald Vogus of Fayetteville, N.C.; a grandson, Michael, of Arizona; three granddaughters, Carson, Molly and Stephanie of North Carolina; an aunt, Frances Wood of Corry; and a number of cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends. A graveside service and burial, open to family and friends, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, in the Jerusalem Corners Cemetery in Pleasantville. Mary Louise McCullough Winkler Mary Louise McCullough Winkler, formerly of Bellevue and Naples, Fla., died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in St. Barnabas Village in Gibsonia. Mrs. Winkler was a graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. She was a registered nurse and formerly taught nursing at Mercy and Allegheny General hospitals in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Winkler was married to Richard J. Winkler, who preceded her in death. Surviving are three children, Richard Winkler of Titusville, Peter M. Winkler and wife, Jennifer, of Franklin and Susan Nolan and husband, Joseph, of Bellevue; and grandchildren, Marisa, Richard, Rosemarie and Peter J. Winkler, Bridget, Kathleen and Michael Nolan. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemarie. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home Inc., 460 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of the Assumption in Bellevue. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rosemarie Winkler Scholarship Fund, Wheeling Jesuit University, 316 Washington Ave., Wheeling, W.Va., 26003.
Well, I never hear from you very often, and then when you do send a message, I get eight of the same one. Glad to hear that Bob is enjoying himself there, that is a big plus. I talk with B.J. often on POGO, Deb gave me a guest pass for the Club, had a fun time with HOGHEAVEN, but I make more tokens with Hidden Temple. I think I will probably join the Club.
