    3. The Derrick, July 20, 2007: Donald Eugene Kaminske, Prospect, formerly of Oil City Aaron Luke Mercer, Gainesville, Va., formerly of Seneca Mary L. Seifert, New Bethlehem Violet Moore, memorial set Donald Eugene Kaminske Donald Eugene Kaminske, 75, of Prospect, a former Oil City resident, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in Butler Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 16, 1931, in Oil City, he was the son of Louis H. and Ruth E. Perkins Kaminske. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kaminske had worked as a boilermaker for the Brown Boiler Works in Franklin. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Mount Chestnut. Mr. Kaminske was married March 21, 1959, to Hazel Rae Tudor, who preceded him in death July 26, 1993. Surviving are one son, Donald C. Kaminske of Prospect; one sister, Judy Preston of Erie; and one brother, Terry Kaminske of Oil City. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Kaminske was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. George Miller of the Assembly of God Church in Mount Chestnut, officiating. Interment will be in The Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler. Aaron Luke Mercer, 34, of Gainesville, Va., died Sunday, July 15, 2007, as a result of an accident. Born Sept. 2, 1972, in Oil City, he was a son of Duane and Janet Hannah Mercer of Seneca. Mr. Mercer graduated in 1990 from Cranberry High School and then from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in marketing. He was employed for 10 years by the U.S. Investigation Services in Boyers and last in Annandale, Va. Mr. Mercer was a former member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City. He enjoyed hiking, fencing, reading, physical fitness, sports and gaming, was a published writer and an avid Miami Dolphins fan. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Nathan Mercer and wife, Traci, and their children, Hayley, Blake and Tyler, of Cranberry Township and Ryan Mercer and wife, Molly, and their children, Renee and Landon, of Mars; his maternal grandmother, Anna Hannah of Shippenville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mervin and Vera Mercer and maternal grandfather, Ralph Hannah. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St., Oil City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St Stephen Church with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Mary L. Seifert Mary L. Seifert, 82, of New Bethlehem died Thursday afternoon, July 19, 2007, in McKinley Health Center, Brookville. The Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Saturday in The Derrick. Memorial set for Violet Moore A memorial service to celebrate the life of Violet Netzler Moore, 74, of Williston, Vt., formerly of Franklin, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, in Grace Lutheran Church, 737 Elk St., Franklin. Mrs. Moore, wife of Milo J. Moore and a former teacher at Rocky Grove High School, died Jan. 18, 2007.
