Weber, Cranberry Township Terry Lee Gilbert, 55, of Leeper, died Monday, July 23, 2007, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie. Born April 25, 1952, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Alfred Gilbert and Betty Lou Dehner Gilbert of Leeper. Mr. Gilbert served with the U.S. Air Force for 10 years during the Vietnam War. He worked for various businesses in the area. Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Terry Lin Gilbert of Aldus, Okla.; a brother, Kenny Gilbert and his wife, Patty, and a sister, Cindy Ochs and her husband, Dan, all of Leeper; a nephew, Kyle Gilbert of Leeper; and a special friend, Nancy Schneider of Leeper. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harrison and Erdie Dehner, and his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Ruth Gilbert. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Coul of Good Shepherd United Methodist, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dehner Cemetery. Elizabeth Pearl Heeter Elizabeth Pearl Heeter, 94, of Wood Street, Clarion, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the Golden Living Center, Shippenville. Born July 13, 1913, in Everwood, W.Va., she was the daughter of Harry Baker Wing and Laura Belle Alford Wing. She graduated in 1958 from Clarion State Teachers College with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She was a 1965 graduate of Edinboro State Teachers College with a master's degree in education. Mrs. Heeter was employed by the Bradford School District from 1958-1959, then moved to Port Allegany where she was employed by the school district from 1959-1962. In 1962 she was employed by Clarion State Teachers College and Clarion Area School District as a demonstration teaching in Thaddeus Stevens Training School on the campus of Clarion State College. In 1969 the school was closed and all teachers were employed by Clarion Area School District at the Boundary Street School where she taught until her retirement in 1975. She was a charter member of the Reading Enrichment Program in the Clarion Area Schools, working 10½ years in primary classrooms. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion where she directed the Children's Choir for 25 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women since 1962, serving as president of that group for three years and treasurer for four years, and sang in the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Heeter was a lifelong member of the Clarion Historical Society and treasurer of that organization for six years. She was a member of the Clarion Women's Club since 1970 and was treasurer for four years. She was a life member of PSEA, both state and county. She first was married to William Kenneth Bonner, who preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1956. She was then married June 19, 1971, to Maurice Thomas Heeter, who died Dec. 28, 1998. Surviving are one son, Edgar Harry "Bud" Bonner of Franklin; four grandchildren, the Rev. Susan Bonner of New Bethlehem, Brent Alan Bonner of Rimersburg, Teri Lutz and husband, Roger, of Knox and William Kenneth Bonner of Clarion; and six great-grandchildren, Jason and Justin Bonner, Benjamin and Nicholas Lutz and Brandon and Samantha Bonner. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Heeter was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Ransom and Lucille Nulph; one brother, Clifford "Tip" Wing; an infant son, Richard Kenneth Bonner; and three infant brothers. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, in the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion, with the Rev. Deryl Larson officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the Golden Living Alzheimer's Unit in Shippenville. Preston D. Hepler Preston D. Hepler, 78, of Marienville HC3, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the home of his son, Doug Hepler, in Erie. Born June 25, 1929, in Reesedale, Armstrong County, he was the son of Boyd Preston and Flossie Swonger Hepler. Mr. Hepler served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Forest Area Baptist Church in Redclyffe, Marienville HC1. Mr. Hepler, who was employed by the pipeline industry, was a master mechanic who could repair anything. He was known to the community by his truck which had a sign on the front that read "Here's Hep." Mr. Hepler was married Jan. 4, 1954, to Shirley Means, who survives. Also surviving are six children and their spouses, Pamela Stamper and husband, Andy, of Hagerstown, Md., Douglas Hepler and wife, Kathy, of Erie, Teresa Stamper and husband, Herman, of York, Dennis Hepler and wife, Susan, of New Bethlehem, Donald Hepler and wife, Evelyn, of Old Hickory, Tenn., and Dale Hepler and fiancée, Brook Kruse, of Marienville; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Shaffer of Kingston, Ohio, and Alice Bradford of Kelso, Tenn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Smith, Thelma Cussins and Ruth McCanna; and two brothers, infant Boyd Hepler Jr. and Merle Hepler. Mogle, 78, of 66 Huber Road, New Bethlehem, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, in Christ the King Manor, DuBois. Born Jan. 27, 1929, in Sigel, she was the daughter of W. Merrill and Queen H. Harriger Laughlin. She was a 1946 graduate of Porter High School and a 1950 graduate of Indiana University. Mrs. Mogle taught school for 32 years, two at Sandy Township High School and 30 at Redbank Valley High School. She was a member of the Oakwood Presbyterian Church in New Bethlehem where she sang in the choir and substituted as pianist. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern, Chapter No. 230 of New Bethlehem. Mrs. Mogle belonged to the Clarion County Retired Teachers Association and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She enjoyed reading and traveling, and attending scroll saw gatherings with her husband, Jack. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren. Mrs. Mogle was married July 12, 1951, to John M. "Jack" Mogle, who survives. They were married 56 years. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one daughter and her husband, Barbara and John Haughney of Pittsburgh; and two granddaughters, Kathleen Haughney and Sarah Haughney. She also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Vetro and Donna Bailey and her husband, Elmo, of DuBois. Mrs. Mogle was preceded in death by her parents. Bloss St., Titusville, died at 4:28 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, in Titusville Area Hospital where he was admitted earlier in the day. Born June 11, 1930, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Earl and Edna Bernhart Quinn. Mr. Quinn was a 1949 graduate of Oil City High School. He served three years with the U.S. Army National Guard in Oil City. His unit was called up for active duty Sept. 5, 1950. Mr. Quinn was honorably discharged Feb. 15, 1952, with the rank of corporal at Camp Atterbury, Ind. Mr. Quinn formerly was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and Conrail for more than 40 years. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mr. Quinn was married in Titusville Jan. 27, 1957, to Joanne McNamara, who died Oct. 22, 2005. Surviving are three daughters, Carol Smith and Kathy Kuhns, both of Titusville, and Patricia Quinn of Salem, Va.; six grandchildren, Tia Blanchard, Shawn Blanchard, Michael Kuhns, Natalie Quinn, Andrew Smith and Amanda Smith, all of Titusville; and four great-grandchildren, Kolten Blanchard, Rae'Ven Blanchard, Aydin Ruot and Riley Chambers. He also is survived by a brother, Donald Quinn and his wife, Fran, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and his two pet dogs, Jo-Jo and Brandi. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Quinn was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Quinn and Joseph Quinn; and his son-in-law, Jerome Smith. Lura Mae Tarr, 80, of 241 Kane Run Road, Oil City, died at 8:41 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the Titusville Area Hospital. Born June 16, 1927, in Titusville, she was the daughter of Floyd Dempsey and Marie Bedow Dempsey Brothers. She attended school in Gresham. Mrs. Tarr attended Cherrytree United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed sewing, baking, doing crafts and going to yard sales. Mrs. Tarr was married in Cherrytree March 18, 1947, to Frederick J. Tarr, who survives in Kaneville. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jan (Marilyn) McMullen of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Rimersburg; two sons, Robert and Brian Tarr, both of Kaneville; four grandchildren, Mrs. Timothy (Brenda) Miller of Clarion, Mrs. Steven (Deborah) McAfoose of Hawaii, WOC Thomas McMullen of Houston, Texas, and S.Sgt. Michael McMullen of Spangdahlem, Germany; and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Miller, Ryan Miller, Kayte McAfoose and Cody McAfoose. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles (Lois) Deane of Titusville; one aunt, Lillian Banks of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tarr was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jacob "Jake" Brothers; three brothers, Burton Nichols, Norman Nichols and Leonard Dempsey; and one sister, Eleanor "Ellie" Turk. Weber, 77, of Cranberry Township, died at 5 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 2, 1929, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Joseph and Marie Weppleman Weber. Following his graduation from Shaler High School, he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Weber had been employed by Friday's Masonry in Perrysville. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Church in Cranberry Township. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Viehbeck Daniels-Weber; three daughters, Patricia Knowles and husband, Douglas, of Lakeland, Fla., Anita Adams and husband, Rod, of Franklin, and Luann Daw of Franklin; two sons, Michael Weber and wife, Mary, of Shaler and Karl Daniels of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Lauren and Scott Weber, Erika and Colin Knowles, George Daniels IV, Audra and Jason Gibson and Jesse Daw and wife, Alyssa; and one great-grandson, Hadden Daniels. He also is survived by a sister, Helen Kay of Shaler.
