    3. The Derrick, July 17, 2007: William Craig Daugherty, 1309 Eastwood Drive, Clarion Eugene E. Flockerzi, Chamor Lane, Seneca Rick A. Magness, 329 Hidden Hollow Lane, Rimersburg Raymond LeRoy Mong, getting it right William Craig Daugherty, 72, of 1309 Eastwood Drive, Clarion, died Monday, July 16, 2007, in his home following an extended illness. Born Aug. 30, 1934, in Fisher, he was the son of the late Craig and Pearl Hummel Daugherty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for the Commander, XXI U.S. Army Corps from 1957 to 1966. He was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Daugherty worked at Owens-Brockway Glass Co., retiring in 1977 after 30 years of service. He most recently was employed at True Value Hardware in Clarion. He was a member of Clarion Lodge No. 277. F. & A.M., and was a life member of the Scottish Rite Consistory in Coudersport. Having a strong faith, Mr. Daugherty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarion. Mr. Daugherty was a former member of the Clarion Lions Club. He enjoyed working and helping others and was a best friend to many people. Mr. Daugherty was married Feb. 23, 1957, to Beverly Curll, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Joan Kriebel of Clarion, Craig Daugherty and wife, Donna, of Hughesville, Md., and Jayne Daugherty of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Audrey Lewis and husband, Donald, of Fisher and Adeline Chikosky of Clarion; one brother, Donald Daugherty and wife, Hazel, of Fisher; a sister-in-law, Jessie Daugherty of Maryland Heights, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Ross Curll and wife, Phyllis, of McMurray; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Gunning Seybert; a brother, Harry Daugherty; three brothers-in-law, John Gunning, Leland Seybert and Leonard Chikosky; and a nephew, Jerry Gunning. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Clarion, with the Rev. Keith Richardson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Millcreek Presbyterian Cemetery, Fisher. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarion Hospital Foundation Cancer Center, 1 Hospital Drive, Clarion, 16214. Eugene E. Flockerzi, 78, of Chamor Lane, Seneca, died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007, in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh. Born May 5, 1929, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Homer L. and Cleo L. Bowersock Flockerzi. He was a lifetime resident of Cranberry and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church . Mr. Flockerzi served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in May 1991 from the Education and Community Services Comptroller's Office, headquartered in Harrisburg, after 25 years of service. Mr. Flockerzi enjoyed his garden, working outdoors and the Statler Brothers. He especially enjoyed and appreciated his kitty friends, Hayden, Reba and Shay-Boy. Surviving are his wife, the former Sally Ann Yost; five children, Jean Ann Moffett of Oil City, Nancy Lee Carner of Seneca, Dennis Eugene Flockerzi of Elkton Md., Christine Marie Frawley of Oil City and Abby Renee Flockerzi of Seneca. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Moffett of Cranberry Township, Steven E. Moffett of Erie, Brayton J. Carner of Cranberry Township, Bryan L. Carner of Rockland, Erin R. and Darren J. Frawley of Oil City and Alex S. and Olivia M. Flockerzi of Elkton Md.; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; an aunt, Mildred Flockerzi of Coal Hill; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flockerzi was preceded in death by a brother, H. Daryl Flockerzi; a nephew, Dean R. Flockerzi; and a niece, Sue Ann Flockerzi. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Flockerzi requested that memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Oil City, 16301. Rick A. Magness, 46, of 329 Hidden Hollow Lane, Rimersburg, died Sunday afternoon, July 15, 2007, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Piney Township. Born April 11, 1961, in Brookville, he was the son of Pauline Davis and Gerald Magness. Mr. Magness was a truck driver most of his life and recently was employed by Carcia Trucking Co. of Marienville. He enjoyed farming, four wheeling, hunting and spending time with his son. Surviving are one son, Dylan Magness of Sligo; his mother and husband, Pauline and Tom Morris of Sligo; his father and wife, Jerry and Lisa Magness of Knox; two brothers, Mark Magness and wife, Teresa, of Thornton, Colo., and Tim Morris and friend, Kathy Bernard, of Strattanville; two sisters, Jerri Beth Martin and husband, Tim, of Clarion and Michelle Magness and friend, Robert Bish, of Clarion; four nephews, Gerald and Anthony Magness, Christopher Magness and David Bish; and two nieces, Elizabeth and Alexandria Bish. He also is survived by his maternal grandfather, Dick Davis of Sligo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Russell, pastor of the Sligo United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park near Strattanville. The family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to the First United National Bank of Clarion, 16214. Getting it right - Raymond LeRoy Mong Raymond LeRoy Mong, 75, of 231 Bullion Road, Kennerdell, died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Among his survivors are his nephew, Charles "Chip" Mong Jr. and his wife, Cindy, and their daughter, Emily Mong.
