Noble, Knox Gene "Wally" Palmer, Mabelvale, Ark., formerly of western Pennsylvania Bertha "Bert" Tenney Reese, Russell, formerly of Oil City Charles Lloyd Burdett Charles Lloyd Burdett, 78, of 1061 Jackson Center-Polk Road, Stoneboro, who retired in 1990 as a mechanic from PennDOT where he was known by his co-workers as "Burdie," died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after a brief illness. William Richard Hanna William Richard Hanna, 65, of Colonia, N.J., formerly of Franklin, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, in JFK Medical Center, Edison, N.J. He had resided in Belford, N.J., before moving 34 years ago to Colonia, N.J. Born in Franklin, he was the son of the late Richard and Gail DeWoody Hanna. Mr. Hanna was the proprietor of BakeMaster of North America in Rahway, N.J. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Carteret, N.J. Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia Karpinski; a son, Kenneth Hanna of Colonia, N.J.; two daughters, Christine Cimilluca and husband, Joseph, of Colonia, N.J., and Deborah Conley and husband, Frank, of Westfield, N.J.; and three grandchildren, Chelsea, Christopher and Elizabeth. He also is survived by two sisters, Patricia Wentworth of husband, Ed, of Goose Creek, S.C., and Cynthia Goodman and husband, Mark, of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hanna was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Earl Hanna. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, N.J. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123-1718. Robert L. Hynes, 76, of 232 Hone Ave., Oil City, died at 12:46 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in Titusville Area Hospital. Born July 27, 1931, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Mary Elizabeth Warner Hynes. He attended the Oil City schools and had resided in the Oil City area most of his life. Mr. Hynes worked as a truck driver and retired from Klapec Trucking after more than 20 years of service. He was Catholic by faith. Mr. Hynes was married March 10, 1951, to Jean Bixler, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Eugene Robert "Butch" Hynes and wife, Pam, of Seneca, Thomas William Hynes of Wilson, N.C., and Rick Lee Hynes and wife, Michelle, of Seneca; a daughter, Debbie Hynes Rudolph and husband, Tracy, of Plumer; and eight grandchildren, Jamie Hynes and wife, Michelle, of Titusville, Andy Hynes of Harrisburg, Matt and Ryan Irwin of Seneca, Stephanie Irwin, Becky Rudolph and Adam Rudolph, all of Oil City, and Steve Torzak of Wisconsin; and one great-grandson, Mathew Rudolph of Oil City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hynes was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy Lee Hynes; two brothers; and one sister. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Kenneth L. Noble Kenneth L. Noble, 63, of Knox, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Oct. 31, 1943, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Homer and Olive Bowser Noble. Mr. Noble retired from Heckett where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Center Hill Church of the Brethren in Kittanning. Mr. Noble also was a member of Freeport Lodge, F. & A.M., and was a board member of the Worthington Civic Center. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. Surviving are his wife, Ruth C. Milliren Noble; two sons, Eric R. Noble of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth Noble of Kittanning; a daughter, Jodi Tradeny of Middletown, Conn.; children of the heart, Ruth Ann Bradford and Billy Joe Toy, both of Worthington; and five grandchildren, Crystal James and Brady James, both of Middletown, Conn., Kathryn James of Middleburt, Stanley Toy of Dayton and Jeffrey T. Toy of Worthington. He also is survived by one brother, Robert Noble of Freeport; two sisters, Lorraine Elliot of Chicora and Sally Rose of Freeport; longtime friend, Gloria Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Noble was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Noble. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home Inc., 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Gene 'Wally' Palmer Gene "Wally" Palmer, 60, of Mabelvale, Ark., formerly of western Pennsylvania, died of natural causes Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in his residence. Born June 12, 1947, in Grove City, he was the son of the late William and Luella Burdette Palmer. Mr. Palmer was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post of Frederick, Colo. He was a retired crane operator with David J. Joseph Co. of Arkansas and at the time of his death was working for McCormick Painting of Arkansas. Mr. Palmer was Protestant by faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling and was a collector of knives and firearms. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Melissa "Missy") Foster of Rouseville and Joretta Palmer of Barkeyville; one son, Daniel Palmer of Parker; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Tim (Cheryl) Hughes of Eau Claire and Mrs. Allen (Christine) Boyd of Kennerdell; one stepson, Michael Wright of Hooker; his stepmother, Shirley Palmer of Butler; five grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. He also is survived by one brother, William "Bill" Palmer of Parker; six sisters, Kate Evans of Oil City, Tina Stormer of Mercer, Marcia Busch of North Carolina, Hilda Claypool of Franklin, Charlotte McClelland of Oil City and Cindy Palmer of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wright Palmer, in 2002; two grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Main Street, Route 38, Eau Claire. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Eau Claire Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Bertha "Bert" Tenney Reese, 70, of 208 Liberty St., Russell, died at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in her residence following a lengthy battle with heart disease and cancer. Born April 26, 1937, in Cherrytree, she was the daughter of Gladys Gelts Tenney of Oil City and the late Ray A. Tenney. She was a 1955 graduate of Oil City High School. Mrs. Reese retired as an L.P.N. from Warren State Hospital. She was a former member of the Faith Bible Church in Russell and currently belonged to Calvary Baptist Church in Russell where she was actively involved in the Mothers of Preschoolers "MOPS" Program and various other church activities until her illness. Mrs. Reese enjoyed being a wife and homemaker, going to monthly diners with former classmates and participating in family gatherings. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and also favored the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Reese was married Aug. 18, 1973, to James "Jim" Reese, who survives. Also surviving are three brothers, Tom Tenney Sr. and wife, Barbara, and Bill Tenney and wife, Lisa, all of Oil City, and Larry Tenney and wife, Lana, of Summerville, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Tenney of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Reese was preceded in death by a son, Michael Tenney; and a brother, Albert Tenney. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave., Warren. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday in the church with the Rev. Michael Mullins, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
