"Bill" Cox, 63, of Tionesta RD 1, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in the emergency room of the Titusville Area Hospital. Born July 22, 1944, in Sharon, he was the son of the late Billy T. and Harriett Garrett Cox. Mr. Cox worked as a territory manager for Mallory Battery Co. from 1963 to 1974. He then owned and operated the Clark Gas Station from 1974 to 1977. After that he and his brother, Garry, who was his business partner and best friend, owned and operated the Trails End Restaurant and Tall Timber Inn in Cook Forest. Later both he and his brother were power sellers on eBay. He enjoyed wildlife and the outdoors, was an avid hunter, was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and enjoyed many trips to Colorado. Surviving are two brothers, Garry Cox of Tionesta and Robert Cox and wife, Cathy, of Youngstown, Ohio; two sisters, Cynthia Olson of Birmingham, Ala., and Penny Irwin and husband, David, of Springfield, Ohio; the following nieces and nephews, Jason, Melissa, Billy and Candace Cox, Hattie James, Abbie Graham, and Jamie and Cindy Irwin; and two great-nephews and four great-nieces. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage. The family requests memorials be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Ruth Kroell Ruth Kroell, 90, of 1259 Walnut St., Stoneboro, died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after a short illness. Born Aug. 9, 1917, in Vandergrift, she was the daughter of Calvin R. and Ida E. Barger Dunkle. She was a 1935 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School. Mrs. Kroell retired in 1979 from Polk State School & Hospital after 22 years of service as a cook in the dietary department. She was a member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Stoneboro. Mrs. Kroell was a homemaker and always put her family first. She loved to play bingo and loved horses. She enjoyed baking and doing her own yard work. She was a driver for several years for Lakeview Area Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Kroell was married March 30, 1940, to Robert J. Kroell Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1988. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Donald M. (Carol) Greggs of Polk; one son, Robert J. Kroell and wife, Joie, of Clearfield; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She also is survived by one brother, Calvin Ray Dunkle, of Virginia Beach, Va. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kroell was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Stevens; and two brothers, Harold Dunkle and Boyce Dunkle. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Henry C. Andrae, pastor, presiding. Getting it right - Robert L. Hynes Robert L. Hynes, 76, of 232 Hone Ave., Oil City, died at 12:46 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in the Titusville Area Hospital. Among his survivors are five great-grandchildren, Mathew Rudolph and Karleigh Shaffer, both of Oil City, Libby Hynes, Zach Carter and Emily Carter, all of Titusville.
