"Jack" Tarr, 31 Fairview Ave., Oil City Paul H. Ausel Paul H. Ausel, 77, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Oil City, died Friday, March 11, 2005. Born May 6, 1927, in Oil City, he was the son of Daveolt and Frances Curry Ausel. Mr. Ausel attended Kent State University and served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1996 from Ohio Edison and also worked part-time for the Akron Library System. Mr. Ausel was a member since 1948 of The Memorial Chapel, Akron, where he taught Sunday school for nine years. He is survived by his wife Betty L. Ausel, whom he married Nov. 24, 1949; children, Debra Petz and husband, Wynn, Susan Nelson and husband, Dave, Rebecca Elia and husband, Louie, and Richard Ausel and wife, Kim; and grandchildren Nathan Ausel, Katie and John Elia, Amanda, Alicia and Alex Petz, Jennifer, Ben, Gwendolyn and Gillian Nelson and Spencer Ausel. He also is survived by two sisters, Virginia Tallmadge and Mary Ada Plyler; and one brother, Jim Ausel. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ausel was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Frank Ausel; and two sisters, Mercene Holmes and Edna Speck. Cornell, 77, of Marienville, formerly of Blairsville, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 19, 1927, in Burrell Township, she was the daughter of Robert and Julia May Barkley Libengood. Mrs. Cornell was married for 60 years to Sloan Cornell, who survives. She and her husband were owners/operators of the Knox & Kane Railroad in Marienville. Mrs. Cornell was a member of the United Methodist church in Strangford. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are five daughters, Rebecca Overly of Robinson, Marilyn Hafer and husband, Russell, of Blairsville, Teri West and husband, Byron, of Russell, Patricia Kaas and husband, David, of Gardners and Barbara Smith and husband, Craig, of Lewis Center, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Beth Cornell of Gettysburg; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Paul Libengood and wife, Marie, of Blairsville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cornell was preceded in death by a son, James S. Cornell, Sept. 28, 2004; seven sisters, Elva McBurney, Alice Libengood, Nancy Sloan, Helen Mankamyer, Ora Mae Blystone, Florence Dodson and Ethel Libengood; and three brothers, Robert Libengood, Marion Libengood and Blaine Libengood. Kaster, 58, of 42925 W. Central Ave., Titusville, died at 2:50 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, at her residence. Born Oct. 22, 1946, in Tidioute, she was the daughter of Charlotte Flasher Sheckler and the late George Sheckler. She was a 1964 graduate of Tidioute High School. Mrs. Kaster last was employed at the Titusville Area Hospital in the medical records department as an analyst until her retirement due to disability. She previously worked as a private duty nurses aide, had worked at Robinson's Wallcoverings in Titusville and also at Blair's New Process in Warren. She was a member of the Hydetown TOPS. Mrs. Kaster enjoyed her flower gardens, cross stitch, crocheting, craft painting, camping and spending time with her grandchildren. She was married in Titusville April 4, 1969, to Robert L. Kaster, who survives. Also surviving are her mother of Tidioute; two children, Rhonda McClintock of Titusville and Jason Kaster and wife, Emily, of Titusville; three stepchildren, John Kaster of Plumer, Theresa Brunst and her fiance, Jim, of Slippery Rock and Dorothy "Dotty" Wonderling and husband, Jerry, of Cambridge Springs; 10 grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Kaster of Titusville. Louise Kaylor, 83, of Canoe Ripple Road, Sligo, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 3, 1921, the daughter of Lottie and Edward Weeter. She was raised in Sligo. Mrs. Kaylor was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed sewing quilts, embroidery, baking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was married June 25, 1942, to Joseph L. Kaylor, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly L. Crowley of Sligo and her friend, Harry Ross of Franklin and his daughter, Christina Ross, and Lynda Wilson and her husband, Ron, of Arizona; six grandchildren, Michele Ross and her fiance, Brian Krzewinski of Hazen, Ryan Crowley of Columbus, Ohio, Sheila Marshall and husband, Scott, of Chandler, Ariz., Allen Wilson and wife, Brandi, and Chris and Jason Wilson; and three great-grandchildren, Lacey Johnson and Mekayla Cochenour of Hazen and Mackayla Wilson of Arizona. "Bill" Smith, 77, of 532 Ridge View Road, Davenport, Fla., formerly of Pleasantville, died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, in Celebration Health Hospital, Celebration, Fla. Born Feb. 6, 1928, in Titusville, he was the son of John Coleman Smith and Mildred Olson Smith. Mr. Smith was a 1946 graduate of Titusville High School and attended Gannon University, Erie. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Smith retired in management in 1986 from the former Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in Titusville. He also had been employed by Ruel Smith (Sylvania) in Pleasantville. He was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Smith had been a member of the Pleasantville Lions Club; was actively involved with the Fairview Cemetery Association; and was a former member of the Cleo J. Ross Post No. 368, American Legion. He enjoyed building computers, oil and watercolor painting, photography, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed being with his family. Mr. Smith was married in Titusville June 7, 1952, to Joan Gifford, who survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, Craig G. and Audrey Smith of Mount Lebanon; a daughter, Valerie Smith of Vienna, Va.; and three grandchildren, Alexis and Nicholas Smith of Mount Lebanon and Joshua Smith of Hilton Head, S.C. He also is survived by a brother, J. Coleman Smith Jr. and wife, Ursula, of Union City and Apache Junction, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. Born March 28, 1927, in Titusville, she was the daughter of Leo and Jane Dunham Benedict. She attended the Pleasantville schools. In her earlier years, Mrs. Sparks had been employed by Ruel Smith (Sylvania) in Pleasantville and Robinson's Wallcoverings in Titusville. Mrs. Sparks was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her flower gardens. Mrs. Sparks was married in Titusville Feb. 23, 1957, to Warren W. Sparks, who survives. Sparks and wife, Susan, of Titusville and Paul Sparks of Pleasantville; two daughters, Linda Sparks of Pleasantville and Julie Kolacz and husband, Stephen, of Meadville; three grandchildren, John Kolacz, Stephanie and Laura Sparks; and a great-granddaughter, Shianne Donovan. Stormer, 80, of Reno, died Monday, March 14, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Jan. 29, 1925, in Reno, he was the son of Charles Wayne and Eila Mae Brooks Stormer. He was a 1942 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. Mr. Stormer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific aboard the USS Delta. He worked in various businesses throughout his lifetime. At one time, he owned and operated the Reno Cable TV, Kennerdell Cable TV and Oil City Cable TV and Cherrytree Motors. Mr. Stormer was a member of the VFW and many local organizations. Surviving are two daughters, Dottie Reiser of Carson City, Nev., and Lisa Hoffman and husband, Ed, of Oil City; a stepdaughter, Darlene McGarvie of Dempseytown; a stepson, Mike Banta of Titusville; two grandchildren, Julie Reiser and Debbie Reiser of Carson City, Nev.; three stepgrandchildren, Jamie Snyder and husband, Todd, and Kelly Johnson and husband, Curt, all of Titusville, and Leon Banta of Titusville, serving in the military; numerous step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a companion, Willa McMunn of Cranberry; and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stormer was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard W. Stormer and James R. Stormer; and a sister, JoAnne Boyer Moore. "Jack" Tarr, 68, of 31 Fairview Ave., Oil City, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home after a short illness. Born June 15, 1936, in Meadville, he was the son of John D. Tarr Sr. and Genevieve Fink Tarr. At a young age, his family moved to Oil City. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mr. Tarr started to work at age 19 with the United Natural Gas Co. He retired from National Fuel Gas as director of labor relations in 1992 at age 55. Following his retirement, he developed a passion for working with wood and created beautiful pieces of furniture. Mr. Tarr was a member of St. Joseph Church. As an amateur scuba diver, he had been called upon from time to time in his earlier years to do underwater repair work. He had a pilot's license and enjoyed bowling and golfing. Mr. Tarr was married June 10, 1956, in St. Joseph Church by the Rev. James Webber to his high school sweetheart, Marjorie "Marge" Swasta, who survives. Also surviving are special friends, Howard and Patty Faunce and Michelle Rankin, all of Oil City, and Lou and Mary Cecchinato of Sheffield, Mass. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tarr was preceded in death by his son, Steven M. Tarr, May 5, 1981; and by his sister, Patricia A. Driscoll.
