The first Terwilliger was Evert Dircksen Terwilliger born in Vianen, Utrech, Holland who came to America in 3 15 1663 with his son 6 years of age: Jan Evertsen Terwilliger born about 1657 came with his Father to New Amsterdam, later named New York City. he married on 4 23 1685 at RDC Kingston, Ulster County, New York to Sytie Jacobsz Van Etten born 3 25 1668.
