Hugus, 692 Slatertown Spur, Polk Reba Ivonne Exley Manson, Baton Rouge, La., Venango County native William J. Reeder, Rocky Springs Road, Harrisville Lloyd G. "Pete" Rose, Marienville Patti J. Reed Sires, Beatty Run Road, Cooperstown Maxine E. Wyant, 48 Maple Grove Road, Rimersburg Henry D. Yori, East Broad Street, Rimersburg Ruth E. Moore Eakin Ruth E. Moore Eakin, 90, a resident of Orchard Manor, Grove City, for the past three years, formerly of Kennerdell, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday. Born April 7, 1914, in Butler County, she was the daughter of Howard J. Cooper and Lottie Belle Rodgers. Mrs. Moore worked as a dietitian at Polk State School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Clintonville, the church choir and the missionary society of the church. Mrs. Moore also was a member of the Clintonville AARP. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Mrs. Moore first was married Oct. 9, 1934, to Ralph P. Moore, who died April 26, 1962. She then was married April 11, 1968, to Homer Eakin, who died Sept. 13, 1986. Surviving are two children, Annabelle L. Hovis and husband, James R., and Ronald R. Moore and wife, Nancy, all of Kenneredell; five grandchildren, Rodney J. Hovis, Suzanne M. King, Denise L. Marano, Mindy J. Moore and Regan E. Moore; and five great-grandchildren, Chad Wilson, Sam Marano, Jibreel Barksdale, Dezman Moore, Derick King and Daryl King. She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Halasy of Grove City and Mrs. Ralph (Pauline) Ward of Plano, Texas; and one brother, Thomas Cooper of New Castle. In addition to her parents and two husbands, Mrs. Eakin was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Trufley and an infant, Betty Cooper; and one brother, Rodney Cooper. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Patterson, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Dorothy K. Hugus Dorothy K. Hugus, 88, of 692 Slatertown Spur, Polk, died at 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. For the last several years, she had been residing at The Caring Place, Franklin. Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Ray O'Dell Kelsey and Annabel Strachan. She was a 1935 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1940 graduate of Grove City College with a bachelor of science degree in music and modern languages. Mrs. Hugus moved to Baltimore in 1965 and returned to Franklin in 1982. Before moving to Baltimore, she was very active in the First United Methodist Church in Franklin as well as scouting and the foreign exchange student program, housing several exchange students. She served as treasurer of the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association and volunteered with the Franklin Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Hugus was a member of the American Association of University Women, the DAR, The Franklin Club and the Center United Methodist Church. She enjoyed genealogy, playing bridge, traveling, reading, visiting with shut-ins and her grandchildren. Mrs. Hugus was married Feb. 17, 1940, to Frank Richard Hugus, who died April 18, 1996. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Frank R. and Susan Hugus of Amherst, Mass., Timothy R. and Peggy Hugus of Baltimore, Md., and Marc K. and Lisa Hugus of Polk; two daughters, Elizabeth Mullins and husband, Benjamin, of Marion, S.C., and Sara Bosworth and husband, William, of Baltimore, Md.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hugus was preceded in death by her parents and husband. There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. James Shaver, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery. The Huff Chapel in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. Reba Ivonne Exley Manson Reba Ivonne Exley Manson, 91, a resident of Baton Rouge, La., for more than 60 years, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005. Born July 24, 1913, in Venango County, she was the daughter of Gifford and Pearl Porter Exley. Mrs. Manson was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College in Indiana, Pa. She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge and was a supporting member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a 40-year member of the Open Door fellowship class of the church. Mrs. Manson was married to Lewis P. Manson, who preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Roger E. Manson and wife, Dusty; a daughter, Mary Law Manson Sfondouris and husband, Styl; four grandchildren, G. Briggs Manson and wife, Stephanie Griffin Manson, Jason L. and Katie Sikes Manson, Lindsey Manson Aldridge and husband, Kenneth, and John L. Sfondouris; and five great-grandchildren, Brad, Jack, Elizabeth and Anna Claire Manson and Anders Aldridge. She also is survived by a sister, Emily Exley Buchanan of Oil City. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Manson was preceded in death by two brothers, Merlyn Exley and Paul Exley. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La., and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Funeral Home Chapel where a religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. William J. Reeder William J. Reeder, 81, of Rocky Springs Road, Harrisville, died at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in the emergency room at United Community Hospital, Grove City, after an apparent heart attack. Born Dec. 11, 1923, in Clay Township, Butler County, he was the son of Joseph and Emma Sherwin Reeder. He was a medic technician 5 with the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Reeder worked as an electrician at U.S. Steel in Ellwood City, retiring in 1974. He was a former deputy game warden with more than 50 years of service. Mr. Reeder was a life member of Harrisville American Legion Post No. 852. He was an avid CB radio operator using the name, "Pipe Smoker." Mr. Reeder enjoyed going to yard sales, buying large toys for his great-grandchildren. He was married Sept. 21, 1946, to the former Lydia L. Cook, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Linda Manross and husband, Jerry, of Rockland, Diana McKinney and husband, Gary, Deb Hoffman and husband, Mark, and Amy Bennett and husband, John Jr., all of Harrisville; two sons and their wives, John and Deb Reeder of Grove City and Russell and Abbie Reeder of Jackson Center; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Jean Corona of Grove City and Aida Sankey of Slippery Rock; one brother, George Reeder of Slippery Rock; and a very close CB friend, Thomas Rupp, who goes by the handle, "Tom Cat." 'Pete' Rose Lloyd G. "Pete" Rose, 77, of Marienville, formerly of Landover, Md., died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Clarion Hospital after a short illness. Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Bedford, he was the son of Grant and Orpha Hite Rose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Rose worked in the parts department of Lustine Oldsmobile in Hyattsville, Md. He was married in Cheverly, Md., Nov. 19, 1971, to Ilene K. Connell, who died Dec. 22, 2001. When Mr. Rose and his wife, who was a registered nurse, retired, they moved to Marienville in 1997. He enjoyed hustings, fishing and travel with his wife. Mr. Rose was a longtime member of Cheverly, Md., United Methodist Church and attended the Marienville Methodist Church. He played the spoons in the Recycled Teenagers and MACA Kitchen Band. Mr. Rose was a longtime Pirates and Steelers fan and traveled several times to Arizona for Cactus League spring training games. Surviving are two stepsons, Vincent Festa of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Brian Festa of Seabrook, Md.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Nicolo Festa. Patti J. Reed Sires Patti J. Reed Sires, 42, of Beatty Run Road, Cooperstown, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in Meadville Medical Center. Born Nov. 18, 1962, in Franklin, she was the daughter of William and Joyce Rockefella Reed. She attended public schools in Oil City, Cranberry and Franklin. Mrs. Sires had been a cook at the Depot Restaurant in Franklin. She enjoyed bingo, her flower gardens and her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Todd Sires of Cooperstown; a daughter, Tiffany Edge and husband, Dave, of Oil City; a grandson, Hunter Edge, and two granddaughters, Taylor and Trinity Edge, all of Oil City. She also is survived by her mother, Joyce Reed of Franklin; three sisters, Joni Reed and Jackie Reed of Franklin, and Brenda Sires and husband, Thomas, of Utica; three brothers, Tom Reed and Bill Reed of Franklin and Terry Reed and wife, Kimberly, of Chambersburg; nine nieces; five nephews; two great-nieces; and six great-nephews. Wyant, 85, of 48 Maple Grove Road, Rimersburg, died Wednesday morning, March 23, 2005, in Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center near Sligo. Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Porter Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Harry and Zelda George Pence. Mrs. Wyant was a member of the Rimersburg United Methodist Church and the WWW Class of the church. For many years, she taught Sunday School and played piano for Sunday School. She also enjoyed quilting with the Methodist Church Women. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Wyant was married Jan. 29, 1941, to Hilton R. Wyant, who died July 18, 1968. Surviving are three daughters, Mary F. Over of Rimersburg, Linda Rickard and husband, Edward, of Curllsville and Patricia Best and husband, David, of Bow, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Chester D. Pence of New Bethlehem. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wyant was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maxine; a son, Mark Wyant, Oct. 3, 1998; and one brother, Robert Pence. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Eaton, pastor of the Rimersburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Squirrel Hill Cemetery near New Bethlehem. Henry D. Yori Henry D. Yori, 88, of East Broad Street, Rimersburg, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in Clarion Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 11, 1917, in Numine, Armstrong County, he was the son of Raymond Joseph and Rachel Schreckengost Yori. He attended the Rimer Hill School in Madison Township, Armstrong County. Mr. Yori was a veteran of the U.S. Army and participated in the Normandy Invasion June 6, 1944. He was employed at Pullman Standard in Butler as an equipment operator and then was employed by Clarion County Transportation, delivering Meals on Wheels to area residents. He retired there in 1970 after 10 years of service. Mr. Yori was a member of the Sloan Street Church of God of Prophecy in Rimersburg for more than 44 years. He was a lifetime member of the Rimersburg VFW. Mr. Yori enjoyed fishing, reading the Bible and his grandchildren. He was married in the Foster Young Home July 19, 1947, to the former Edna Jane Best, who died May 19, 1973. Surviving are a son, David R. Yori of Rimersburg; three daughters, Roxann L. Yori, Cindy L. Carr and husband, Merle E., and Paula M. Yori, all of Rimersburg; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Yori was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, April 8, 1936; his mother, Feb. 20, 1970; twins, Randall Yori, Feb. 16, 1952, and Deborah Yori, March 10, 1952; a daughter, Phyllis Ann Yori, June 24, 1962; and two sons, Daniel Lee Yori, July 9, 1958, and James Joseph "Shovel" Yori, Oct. 28, 2000. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Guntrum, pastor of the Carwick Wesleyan Church, and the Rev. Thomas Kelley, pastor of the Karns City Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by members of the Rimersburg VFW and American Legion Ceremonial Squad.
