Hi Mary, Godfrey Franklin (Frank) REITZ born in May 1862, died between 1912-1920. was married to Catherine McSPARRIN. Catherine was born about June 1864 and died after 1930. I believe Godfrey Franklin REITZ' is the son of Godfrey (Gottfried) REITZ (1821-1895) and Catherine THOMAS (1821-1901); lived Jefferson County. I have all of Godfrey b. 1821 and Catherine's b. 1821 children, too. The son, Godfrey F. (or Frank) was thought to have died in 1886. However, I obtained the 1912 obit for his sister, Elizabeth (REITZ) HIMES and it said in that she had a brother, Frank, living in Climax. That raised a red flag. Climax is in Armstrong County, but I've been told it is also part of Clarion County. A lot of Frank's children and grandchildren were from New Bethlehem, Clarion County. I am in contact with one of his grandsons. I then found out from another researcher that the REITZ that died in 1886, was G. W. REITZ (George Washington REITZ). There are several of us gathering the descendants of Frank. We still are in need of proof that Frank is the son of Godfrey and Catherine (THOMAS) REITZ. As soon as I get an exact death date, I can send for his death certificate since I'm his 2nd great grandniece. I have the certificates of his other 11 siblings. You and I had our first contact in May 2003. Darla Kelly told me you had alot of info about the HIMES. A friend of one of the researchers has a friend looking for the REITZ obits, but Frank or Catherine's hasn't been found yet. If it's not too much trouble, I would appreciate your help, too. You might find it quicker. If you want to be part of the search group, let me know. However, you may get more messages than you'd want. Thanks so much for getting in touch.
