    3. Dear Sondra, Yes, there are a lot of Terwilliger's in this country. Before you go searching for more information, sit down with your family and ask them some things, like where and when they were born and married. Also ask them about you grandparents. Write everything down, including the date you found the information out. Try and find your grandfather's obituary, and get any relevant birth, marriage and death certificates. After you find the dates, you can write back and ask me how to do this if you want. You can find out a lot of information from these documents. Also write things down for you and your sister. I know you might see no point in that now, but it is important. Go to this site http://www.pbs.org/kbyu/ancestors/firstseries/teachersguide/charts-records.h tml and print and ancestor chart and some Family Group Sheets. Fill out one FGS for every family (parents and kids). If you do the things I listed above, it will make your search easier because it will help you decide what area or areas to search in. I also strongly recommend that you contact a genealogical society in your area. It doesn't matter if your family came from there, but there will be members that were in your shoes once, and will help direct you to sources you can look at for more information. Good Luck!
