The Clarion County Obituary books (1895-1920) are for sale, as well as many other goodies. I try to get there at least once a year. Did you know you get a discount on books if you are a member of the Historical Society? We have a farm in Fisher, and go out to eat regularly. One of my favorites is Vince's Tavern on Rt 322 in Shippenville. My Dad really enjoys the Vowinkel Hotel in Vowinkel on Rt 66. Two wonderful restaurants are The Foxburg Inn in Foxburg (http://www.foxburggroup.com) and the Westline Inn (this one is way up by Kinzu in the Allegheny Mountains [http://www.westlineinn.com/], but it is well worth the drive). We have also heard the Clarion River Lodge (http://www.clarionriverlodge.com/) in Cook Forest is quite good, but we have yet to go there. Since we usually stay for a few days, we stop at the super Walmart just off the 80 exit and get sandwich meet and sliced cheese. They have a good deli there. Newspepers can be purchased at The Book Nook (a bookstore) downtown. It's better than getting a paper (and possibly loosing money) in one of those paper things outside the courthouse or outside Walmart. Aslo, if you are like me and can't live without Diet Pepsi, you can buy it at the sub shop across from the courthouse or from the machine in the courthouse basement. A snack machine is also there. Hi! Does anyone have the Clarion County Obituary Books (1895-1920) that would do a look-up for me? I'm looking for Frank G. REITZ who died between 1912 and 1920. His birth name is Franklin Godfrey REITZ. He could also be listed as G. Franklin. He is my 2nd great granduncle and I have been looking for him for a very long time. Thank you very much, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lori Terwilliger" <terwill@wcnet.org> To: <PACLARIO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2005 5:41 PM Subject: RE: [CLARION] Re: Clarion County Genealogy > The Clarion County Obituary books (1895-1920) are for sale, as well as many > other goodies. I found a better address for the Vowinckel Hotel (Rt. 66 & Vowinckel/Cook Forest Rd) and Vince's Tavern (Rt. 66, 1/2 mile S. of Leeper). Vince's has great Cajun wings on Thursdays night!
