    3. The Derrick, March 30, 2005: Jean M. Bierly, Harrisburg, Brookville native Paige C. Graham, Franklin James Howard Marshall, Cortland, Ohio, Tylersburg native Margaret L. Miller, Parker Fred E. Molzer, Oil City, formerly of West Mifflin Pauline M. Snyder, Gahanna, Ohio Jean M. Bierly Jean M. Bierly, 75, of Susquehanna Township, Harrisburg, died Monday, March 28, 2005, in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg. Born April 4, 1929, in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ova Uplinger Means. She was employed as a secretary at Clarion College until her marriage Jan. 19, 1956, to James R. Bierly, who survives. Mrs. Bierly lived most of her life in East Williamson, N.Y., where she was active in the East Williamson Reformed Church. She served as treasurer of the East Williamson Fire Co. and served on the Board of Elections there for 30 years. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Kim E. Kniley and husband, Steve, of Harrisburg; a son, the Rev. Steve R. Bierly and wife, Deborah, of Hull, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lisa Kniley Fleming and Mark Kniley of Harrisburg and James R. Bierly and Abigail R. Bierly of Hull, Iowa. She also is survived by two brothers, Don Means of Knox and Bill Means of Strattanville; and a sister, Ruth Ann Greer of Weedsport, N.Y. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bierly was preceded in death by a son, James R. Bierly, and a sister, Marilyn Means Haun. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Faith Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Dr. John A. Schmidt officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Advent Cemetery, Milesburg. The Neill Funeral Home Inc., 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, is handling the arrangements. Graham, 89, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in The Caring Place, Franklin. Born Sept. 1, 1915, in Olean, N.Y., she was the daughter of Claude and Austa Mays Colegrove. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and later received her license as a practical nurse. As a licensed practical nurse, Mrs. Graham worked private duty as well as at the Grandview Convalescent Home, Oil City, for several years. Mrs. Graham enjoyed reading, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was married May 6, 1934, to Charles W. Graham, who died April 18, 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Judith Eddinger of Franklin; three sons, Gary C. Graham and D. Charles Graham and wife, Mary Ann, all of Franklin, and Richard Graham and wife, Alice, of Fenton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by a son, Edward E. Graham; two brothers, Robert C. Colegrove and an infant. Private visitation and private funeral services will be held in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. The family suggests donations be made to the charity of one's choice. James Howard Marshall James Howard Marshall, 70, of Cortland, Ohio, Fowler Township, died suddenly Sunday evening, March 27, 2005. Born July 17, 1934, in Tylersburg, he was the son of William James and Martha Palmiter Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a Boy Scout leader for 35 years in Leeper and Fowler Township and was a leader of the Royal Rangers for 12 years. He served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and was an airman first class. He then served in the Inactive Reserve. Mr. Marshall retired in 1994 from the G.M. Assembly Plant in Lordstown, Ohio, where he worked for 30 years in final repair. He attended the Believers Christian Fellowship and the Fowler and Vienna United Methodist churches. He was a lay speaker in many area churches. Mr. Marshall attended Litco Prayer Meeting in Liberty Township and was a member of Correll Missionary Ministries, having traveled to Bolivia, Argentina and Guatemala. He wrote poetry and for 30 years, he enjoyed singing in area nursing homes with the New Road Travelers. Mr. Marshall was a member of the U.A.W. No. 1112, a life member of the Fowler Historical Society and treasurer of the Vienna Township Senior Citizens. He helped serve breakfast at the Vienna Fire Department. He was married Oct. 29, 1955, to Shirley Bradley, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Barbara Ann Edwards and husband, Howard, of Cortland, Ohio, Mary Judith Miller and husband, Daro, of Buford, Ga., Sally Jean Thompson and husband, Edward, of Keymar, Md., Laura Mae LoVerne and husband, Lawrence, of Fitchburg, Mass., and Bonnie Lou Isaac and husband, Joseph, of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also is survived by two sisters, Jennie Davis and husband, Richard, and Martha Louise Sliker, all of Tylersburg. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nancy Ann Marshall; one brother, William Marshall; one sister, Mary Wolbert; and two grandchildren. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 State Route 7, Hartford, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. "Peggy" Fross Miller, 64, of Parker, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at her residence following a lingering illness. Born Nov. 11, 1940, in Parker, she was the daughter of Dorothy Snyder Fross of Parker and the late Blair Fross. She was a graduate of the former Parker Area High School. Mrs. Miller was employed for a brief time at the former Glass Containers Corp. of Parker. She also was employed as a hostess at the Emlenton Plaza, Exit 5, on I-80 for a period of time. She was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church. Mrs. Miller was a longtime member and officer of the Roy Calvin McGinnis VFW Post 7073 Ladies Auxiliary of Parker. She held the office of president several times and also was chaplain for many years. She was faithful to represent the VFW post at the Memorial and Veterans Day programs in the area. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are three daughters, Pamela Olama and husband, Hossien, of Orlando, Fla., Karen Zeigler of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Susan Myers and husband, Lee, of Parker; one son, Robert Zeigler of Fairbanks, Alaska; and 10 grandchildren, Jessica and Alex Olama, Tabitha, David, Julia, Benjamin, Candice and Aaron Cox, Elizabeth Zeigler-Brabham and Ana-Karin Brosnan. She also is survived by four sisters, Myrna Sabich and Sharon Kelly, both of Parker, Mrs. Stanley (Fayrene) Gardocky of New Castle and Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Price of Cochranton; her longtime companion, Tony Davenport of Foxburg; a special longtime friend, Betty Jean Johns Patterson of Emlenton; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karla Zeigler; a brother, Leonard Fross; and a sister, Joan Sokol. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the H. Molzer, 75, of Oil City, formerly of West Mifflin, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at his home. Mr. Molzer was a retired West Mifflin police officer. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Eva M. Molzer; his children, Shirley Knapp and husband, Dennis, Gary Molzer, Glenn Molzer and wife, Margie, Diane Molzer, Kathryn Howell and husband, Jay, and the late Janet Molzer; and eight grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Charles Molzer; and sisters, Grace Gavlak and Margaret Clemens, and the late Shirley Peters. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday in the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Snyder, 71, of Gahanna, Ohio, died Friday, March 25, 2005, in Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born in New Martinsville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Stan and Dorothy Bryson Murphy. Mrs. Snyder earned her real estate license in 1974 and worked for Doug Huffman Real Estate Co., first as an agent and then as a manager. She earned her broker's license and started her own company, Real Estate Headquarters Inc. in 1978. She then joined the HER Realtors in 1983 and worked there until the present. She also sold ranch condominiums for M.H. Murphy Development Co. in Columbus and was joined in the business in 1994 by her husband of 36 years, Kenneth E. Snyder, who survives. Mrs. Snyder was a Certified Real Estate Specialist (CRS) and a graduate of Real Estate Institute, the Ohio Association of Realtors (GRI) and Winner Circle Elite in 2003. She was the recipient of Real Living Gold Award in 2003, Real Living Silver Award in 2004 and the Dozen Sales Award. Mrs. Snyder was a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in Gahanna, Ohio, where she served as eucharistic minister. She also was a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Gahanna Area Realtors Association, OAR Sales Club, Award of Distinction and CBR $10 Million Club. Mrs. Snyder participated in the Grand National Bowling Tournament in 1983 in Anaheim, Calif. In addition to her real estate career, she had a love affair with her singing career for nearly 25 years which included singing with the Rusty Bryant Trio, the Four Freshman and many more. Her most successful recording was "People Love People in Love" and "The Good Life." Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, David Carpenter of Gahanna, Ohio; a daughter, Heidi Miller and husband, Steven, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Kaylie and Kevin Carpenter, both of Gahanna. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by a sister, Twila Hitchcock; and a brother, Dale Grimm. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, in St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, with the Rev. Paul A. Noble presiding.
