Etzel, 349 Oak Road, Oil City Dennis Leigh McClune, Spring Hill, Tenn., formerly of Clarion Ralph Louis "Lou" Pritchard, 191 Roseland Ave., Seneca Getting it right - Debra S. Hoban Wescoat Eugene H. Beers, 78, of Fair Haven Road, Strattanville, passed away early Friday morning, Jan. 9, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born July 8, 1930, in Franklin, he was the son of Eugene F. Bunny Beers, who preceded him in death, and Margaret Peg Bright Beers, 103, of Clarview in Sligo. Mr. Beers served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was married Feb. 25, 1972, to Delores E Burton, who survives. Mr. Beers worked for the former L & R Decorating in Clarion for 12 years and later retired from Owens Illinois Glass Plant after 28 years. He was a member of Alpha Assembly of God Church in Clarion. He was also a member of the Clarion Eagles and the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Beers enjoyed watching sports, hunting, fishing, golf, bowling, metal detecting and spending time with his family. In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Beers is survived by nine children, Carol Clinger and her husband, Charles, of Limestone, Denise Clinger and her husband, Carson, of Strattanville, Richard McDougle of Helen Furnace, Kathy McDougle of Clarion, Kathy Mitchel and her husband, Barry, of Hawthorn; Shirley Allio and her husband, Robert, of Clarion, Tammy Munshower of Clarion, Bill Munshower of Arnold and Deloris Jean Dittman and her husband, Evan, of New Bethlehem. Also surviving are three sisters, Georgia Kay Price of Miola, Margaret Williams and her husband, Neal, of Meadville, and Barbara Alba of Florida; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, Mr. Beers was preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie Dithrich and Sherry Deemer. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Selleck officiating. Margaret Evanek Colyvas, 92, of Walker Farm Road, Huey, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, in Clarion Hospital, following a brief illness. Born Aug. 15, 1916, in Huey, she was a daughter of Joseph Charles Evanek and Susan Sophia Charney Evanek. Mrs. Colyvas lived for many years in Washington, where she worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. as a sales clerk in the interior decorating department. During this time she raised her only child and was active in St. Teresa Roman Catholic Church and School. She was twice president of the school's mother's club during her daughter's attendance there. In her spare time, Mrs. Colyvas enjoyed collecting antiques and visiting small towns on the Eastern shore of Maryland. Mrs. Colyvas is survived by one daughter, Marella M. Colyvas of Boulder, Colo.; one brother, George Evanek of Rimersburg; two sisters, Ella Evanek Brooks of Lucinda and Madeline M. Evanek of Suitland, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mrs. Colyvas returned to live in Rimersburg in 2000 to care for her brother, Joseph P. Evanek, who preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her in death were another brother, John Evanek of Baton Rouge, La., in 2007; one sister, Mary Evanek Bartley ,in 1986; her mother in 1984 and her father in 1943. A private family service will be held at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg with the Rev.William M. Kuba officiating. Interment will be in St. Eusebius Cemetery in East Brady. Barbara R. Connolly, 78, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away Wednesday Jan. 7, 2009, after a sudden illness. Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Harrisville, Butler County, she was the daughter of Howard W. Shull and Florence R. Sterrett Shull. She was married Sept. 6, 1987, to James Connolly, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1992. Mrs. Connolly was a graduate of North East High School in North East. Mrs. Connolly had worked as a ticketing agent for several major airlines in New York City, San Francisco and Puerto Rico for a number of years. She had also traveled extensively throughout the world. She was a member of the Cape Fear Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, N.C. Mrs. Connolly is survived by two brothers, Duane Shull and his wife, Alice, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Kenneth Shull and his wife, Meg, of Seneca, S.C.; six nieces and nephews and several Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment to follow at Mt. Eidson, 77, of 382 Second St., Pleasantville, died at 1:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Titusville Area Hospital. Born Dec. 28, 1931, in Olean, N.Y., she was the daughter of Francis and Agnes Eaton Woodley. She was married April 14, 1951, in Bradford, to Raymond L. Eidson, who survives. Mrs. Eidson was a 1949 graduate of Bradford Area High School. She was employed at Dresser Manufacturing Co. in Bradford as an inventory analyst for 20 years until her retirement in 1975. Mrs. Eidson was a member of Pleasantville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a board member with the Pleasantville Salvation Army unit where she served for 15 years as unit secretary. Mrs. Eidson was a member of the Gransan Group and enjoyed the outdoors and camping. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Eidson is survived by one son, David Eidson and his wife, Susan, of Tempe, Ariz.; one daughter, Valerie Johnson and her husband, Gene, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Timothy and Philip Johnson and Scott and Andy Eidson; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eidson was preceded in death by two brothers, William Woodley and Robert Woodley. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Pleasantville United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today in the church with the Rev. Donald Russell, pastor, and the Rev. Peter DeGerland, a retired minister, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Alton Memorial Cemetery. The Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home of 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, is in charge of arrangements. Harry D. Etzel, 87, of 349 Oak Road, Oil City, died Friday morning, Jan. 9, 2009, in UPMC Northwest, following a brief illness. Born July 29, 1921, in Elmo, Clarion County, he was the son of John Alfred and Anna Kropp Etzel. He was a 1938 graduate of Ashland High School in Kossuth. Mr. Etzel earned an undergraduate degree from Clarion State Teachers College and a master's degree from Allegheny College. He also completed graduate studies at Penn State University, the University of Florida and the University of California at Berkeley. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an instructor and pilot of B-24s and B-29s. Mr. Etzel was chairman of the science department and a physics teacher at Oil City High School, retiring in 1983. He served for several years as coach of the varsity golf team. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and fishing and was a skilled carpenter. His teaching went beyond the classroom and he offered his expertise to young and old people on topics ranging from trout fishing to cabinet-making. For a number of years he was the coordinator and teacher for the Scien-Trific exhibits and programs at the Venango Museum in Oil City. He adored his family, especially his four grandchildren. Mr. Etzel was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City. He was married in 1943 in Clinton, S.C., to the former Dolores Dolby of Knox, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, James A. Etzel and his wife, Judith, of Oil City; four grandchildren, Clinton Woofter and his wife, Michelyn, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Rachel Kopper and her husband, Mark, of Pittsburgh, Hannah Rodocker and her husband, Greg, of Evansville, Ind., and Joshua A. Etzel and his wife, Nancy Gabriela Etzel, of Naperville, Ill.; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Jeanne Stover of West Seneca, N.Y., and Patricia Neely of Knox; a brother, Gerald Etzel of Kingsport, Tenn.; and a son-in-law, William Woofter II of Louisville, Ky. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his daughter, Susan Woofter, who died in 2006; two brothers, Dana Etzel and George Etzel; and two sisters, Evelyn Moody and Grace Snyder. Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Dennis Leigh McClune, 44, of Spring Hill, Tenn., formerly of Clarion, passed away Wednesday Jan. 7, 2009, at Southern Hills Medical Center in Tennessee. Born Feb. 12, 1964, in Clarion, he was the son of Donald and Carolyn Kaufman McClune of Clarion. He was a 1982 graduate of Clarion Area High School and graduated in 1986 from Clarion University with a business degree. He was married Oct. 6, 2002, to Melissa Carlisle, who survives in Spring Hill, Tenn. Mr. McClune worked for Primus Financial in Franklin, Tenn. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. McClune is survived by a brother, Donald McClune Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, and nieces and nephews Hannah, Kylan+ and Regan; all of St. Augustine, Fla. Ralph Louis "Lou" Pritchard, 85, of 191 Roseland Ave., Seneca, passed away, after a period of failing health, at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born March 4, 1923, in Oil City, he was the son of Orrin and Dorothy Snyder Pritchard. He was married June 18, 1949, to the former Rosalie "Tootie" Repman Pritchard, who preceded him in death May 18, 2007. He was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City. Mr. Pritchard worked for the Erie Canteen Vending Machine Service for 30 years. He was an avid volunteer to many. He joined Seneca Volunteer Fire Department in 1963, and he was the fire chief from 1970 to 1984 and an assistant chief before that. Mr. Pritchard belonged to the Fire Chiefs Association and the Crawford-Venango County Fire School in Cambridge Springs. He was a Cranberry Township supervisor for 18 years, a past member of the board of directors for Keystone Tall Tree Girl Scout Council and an honorary member of Boy Scout Troop 111. Mr. Pritchard was a member of the Cranberry Area Lions Club, and he received the Melvin Jones Award, the Lions Club's highest honor. Mr. Pritchard was also a member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 32 in Oil City and the VFW Veterans Coalition. He was a past member of the BPO Elks, the Cranberry Mall AM Walkers and the Cranberry Senior Citizens Group. Mr. Pritchard liked the outdoors and enjoyed sitting on his back porch. He and his family camped on Kibbee's Island near Tionesta for 20 years. Mr. Pritchard is survived by two daughters, Roberta Kostek and her husband, James, of Oil City,and Katherine Gibson and her husband, Robert, of Franklin; three grandchildren, Alison Close and her husband, Philip, of Franklin, Aaron Zacherl and his wife, Clarisa, of Waterford, and Benjamin Kostek of Oil City; a step-grandson, Eric Weber and his wife, Angie, of Franklin; four great-grandchildren, Brion Zacherl, Gunnar Close, Darian Zacherl and Paris Close; and two step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Gavin Weber. Mr. Pritchard also is survived by two sisters, Mary Persing of Dempseytown and Anna Mae Speer and her husband, Roscoe, of Dempseytown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Pritchard and his wife, Joyce; a son-in-law, Verle Zacherl; and a brother-in-law, Rexford Persing. Bleakley, Hanover, N.H., longtime Venango County resident Margaret Evanek Colyvas, Walker Farm Road, Huey Martha Opal Whiting Comet, 11 Woodside Ave., Oil City Debra S. Hoban Wescoat, 13650 Newton Town Road, Titusville Getting it right - Edna M. Elder Josephine P. Bleakley, 96, a longtime Venango County resident, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Hanover, N.H., following a very brief illness. Born in August 1912, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the Rev. George and Alice Pifer. The family returned to her parents' native Pennsylvania in the 1920s. She received a bachelor of arts in music from Susquehanna University and became a public school music teacher and then a caseworker for the Dept. of Public Assistance. Subsequently she received an M.S.W. from the University of Pittsburgh and worked for Travellers Aid Society in Pittsburgh. She was married in 1945 to Gale H. Walker, M.D., and they moved to Polk where Mrs. Bleakley lived until his death in 1958. She then worked at Children's Aid Society in Oil City. She was married in 1961 to R.R. Bleakley Jr. and the couple resided in Franklin until Mr. Bleakley's death in 1983. Mrs. Bleakley moved to Hanover, N.H., in 1989 to be close to her daughter and grandson. Mrs. Bleakley sat on the boards of the Franklin Hospital and the Venango County Mental Health Center. She was a member of Wednesday Club, the Venango County Historical Society and the Franklin Club. Her activities at St. John's Episcopal Church, her church home for 44 years, included the choir and St. Hilda's, St. Monica's, and Altar guilds. She also loved participating in the long-running Tuesday afternoon ecumenical Bible study group. After moving to Hanover, Mrs. Bleakley joined St. Thomas Episcopal Church and became active in its parish life. Mrs. Bleakley was an organist in her earlier years. She enjoyed attending organ recitals and savored the efforts of church organists and choirs. For many years, she filled her homes with piano music, often with her daughter stretched out on the floor under the piano. She was a skilled needleworker and shared both the results of her work and her time in teaching beginners. Mrs. Bleakley is survived by her daughter, Mary Crittendon; four stepsons, W. Scott Walker and Peter, Robert, and Steven Bleakley; and 11 grandchildren, Rollin Crittendon; Tyler, Morgan, and Brandon Walker; Jennifer, Sarah, Gregory, Steven Jr., and Aaron Bleakley; Kimberley Graham; and Jocelyn Gandhi, as well as great- and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Bleakley is also survived by two sisters, Madeline Feist and Mary Littlefield. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Bleakley was predeceased by her brother, George Pifer, her sisters, Mildred Synder, Ruth Boettger and Henrietta Van Vorst, and stepsons, Theodore Walker and R. R. Bleakley III. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hanover, N.H. Interment will be in Franklin in the spring. Martha Opal Whiting Comet, 100, of 11 Woodside Ave., Oil City, died at 12:27 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Oct. 18, 1908, in Cherrytree Township, she was a daughter of James Henry and Martha Anne Haun Whiting. Mrs. Comet was a graduate of Titusville High School. She worked after graduation at the John Barber Insurance Agency prior to working for United Natural Gas in Oil City. She was married Sept. 10, 1941, to John A. Comet, who survives. Mrs. Comet was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City. She also belonged to the Monday Club, the Venango Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Colonists, the Belles Lettres Club, Wanango Country Club and the Franklin Club. She was a board member of the Girl Scouts of America and was responsible for naming Camp Singing Hills. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Comet is survived by two daughters, Susan Jane Friedman and her husband, Ronald, of Boalsburg and Linda Anne Koretz and her husband, Kenneth, of Oakland, Calif.; five grandchildren, Alison, Jonathan and Andrea Friedman and Andrew and Peter Koretz; a brother-in-law, Robert Eric Comet and his wife, Karen, of Suffolk, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Comet was preceded in death by five brothers, Forest Whiting, Herbert Whiting, Lawrence Whiting, Glenn Whiting and Ralph Whiting, and two sisters, Edith Baily and Mildred Nelson. Born July 16, 1956, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Rose Marie Butryn Hoban and the late Edward J. Hoban. She was married June 10, 1978, in St. Walburga Church in Titusville, to Robert Wescoat. She was a 1974 graduate of Townville High School and a 1978 graduate of Edinboro University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. Mrs. Wescoat was last employed as a pharmacy tech with Wal-Mart. She was a former volunteer with the Lake Erie Regiment Drum and Bugle Corp., Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was gifted in many areas; she played trombone with the group Shades of Time in Townville. She was also a seamstress who enjoyed making wedding gowns, bride's maid dresses and clothes and wedding cakes. Mrs. Wescoat especially loved being a grandmother to her two grandsons. In addition to her mother and her husband, Mrs. Wescoat is survived by two children, Jennifer L. McCord of Titusville and Jeremy L. Wescoat and his wife, Amanda, of Pittsburgh; two grandsons, Trystan James McCord and Aiden Nicholas McCord of Titusville; four brothers, Mark Hoban and his wife, Helen, of Guys Mills, Mike Hoban and his wife, Sandy, of Pleasantville, Greg Hoban and his wife, Sherri, of Meadville and Dan Hoban of Union City; two sisters, Kathy Hoban and Diane Price and her husband, Mike, all of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Ada Murray, Ila Carberry, Mildred Miley, Myrna Myers and Mary Shontz, and five brothers, John Eshbaugh, Gerald Eshbaugh, Harry Eshbaugh, Gilbert Eshbaugh and Leslie Eshbaugh.

    3. The Derrick, January 8, 2009: Clarence A. "Ike" Bell, Enterprise Road, Titusville Donald L. Crawford, Rockmart, Ga., formerly of Titusville Edna M. Elder, 522 Elder Road, Sligo Donald M. Raymond, 5 Mill St., Sandy Lake Getting it right - Ruth A. Davis Clarence A. "Ike" Bell, 86, of Enterprise Road, Titusville, died peacefully at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Titusville, where he had been a resident since April 21, 2008. Born Dec. 30, 1922, in Knox, he was a son of the late John and Alberta Bell. He attended Shippenville schools. Mr. Bell was married Sept. 15, 1945, in Shippenville, by Justice Mary Paige Hood to the former Lois Bellis, who survives. Mr. Bell was a veteran of World War II, having been inducted into the U.S. Army on Feb. 9, 1943, in New Cumberland. Mr. Bell served in North Africa and Italy with the 88th Blue Devil Infantry. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal with cluster, Bronze Star Medal, EAME Theatre Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Bell was honorably discharged Oct. 27, 1945, at Camp Gruber, Okla., with the rank of staff sergeant. He worked for his father-in-law, Herbert Bellis, and later for his brother-in-law, John Bellis, in the oil fields until his retirement. Mr. Bell enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by one son, David Bell and his wife, Judy, of Titusville; one grandson, Craig Bell of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Crawford, 78, of 2460 Eastern Ave., Rockmart, Ga., where he resided with his daughter, Marla Jean Crawford Hert, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Cobb County Memorial Hospital in Georgia after a long illness. Born Feb. 4, 1930, in Titusville, he was the son of Floyd H. and Elizabeth M. Crawford. Mr. Crawford was married April 19, 1969, in Franklin, to the former Nancy Runninger, who survives. He went to schools in Titusville Area School District. Mr. Crawford served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953, and he served in the Korean War. He was self-employed and was part owner of Crawford Sand and Gravel in Titusville. Mr. Crawford enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles. He was a lifetime member of the Bruce Shorts VFW Post of Titusville. Mr. Crawford is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of Rockmart, Ga.; one daughter, Marla Jean Hert and her husband, Walter Hert Jr., of Rockmart, Ga.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Jesse and Marlana, all of whom he loved dearly; one sister, Marjorie Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews. Born Sept. 6, 1910, in Sligo, she was a daughter of Clinton and Iva Snow Eshbaugh. Mrs. Elder was a 1928 graduate of Sligo High School. She was married Nov. 22, 1930, to Sam J. Elder who preceded her in death on March 15, 1985. Mrs. Elder was a homemaker. She was a member of the Curllsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed tanning, cooking and doing crossword puzzles. Raymond, 78, of 5 Mill St., Sandy Lake, passed away unexpectedly at 5:29 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at his home of natural causes. Born March 12, 1930, in Franklin, he was a son of Maurice P. and Sylvia L. Dilley Raymond. He was a 1949 graduate of Sandy Lake High School. Mr. Raymond was married April 14, 1954, to the former Marjorie A. Ackerman, who survives at home. In his early years Mr. Raymond worked as a meat cutter for Mowry & McKean Packing of Sandy Lake and delivered milk for the Vengold Dairy of Sandy Lake. He retired in 1992 as the owner/operator of Sandy Lake Mills where he spent 37 years. It is now owned and operated by son Brian as the fourth-generation proprietor. He was a member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Raymond was very community oriented and enjoyed visiting with others. He was a longtime member of the Sandy Lake Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for outstanding service. He was a volunteer driver for Lakeview Area Meals on Wheels. Mr. Raymond was a 32nd degree member of Lake Lodge #434, F. & A.M. of Sandy Lake, Scottish Rites, New Castle Consistory and Zem Zem Shrine, Erie. He was a member of I.O.O.F. #573 of Sandy Lake. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching sporting events on television. In addition to his wife, Mr. Raymond is survived by a son, Brian J. Raymond and his companion, Lisa McGinnis, of Sandy Lake; two grandchildren, Susan R. Sheidy and her husband, Dion, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Adam A. Pettitt, who survives. He was a Grove City High School graduate, Class of 1934. Mr. Jamison was a self-employed dairy farmer for 47 years. He was a 60-year member of the Millbrook Grange, Mercer County Pomona Grange, Pennsylvania State Grange and the national Grange. Mr. Jamison was an elder, served as a trustee and he was a Sunday school teacher at Ebenezer Church. He served on the board of directors of Farm Bureau/Agway and he was a Worth Township supervisor. Mr. Jamison was also a member of the F and AM Lake Lodge No. 434 of Sandy Lake. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jamison is survived by three children, Celia Taylor of Grove City, Eric A. Jamison and his wife, Linda, of Poland, Ohio, and Robert Jamison and his wife, Mary, of Brisbane, Australia; a grandson, Wilbur J. On Feb. 16, 1974, he was married to the former Marianne Evans Vogus, who survives. He was a loyal member of Gray United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and served as vice president of the United Methodist Men' s Association at the church. Mr. Moyer was a retiree of Joy Manufacturing and the Arnold Palmer Children's and Women's Hospital in Orlando, Fla. He had also worked at DaVita Inc. Laboratory in Deland, Fla. Mrs. Peterson graduated from the former Sandy Lake High School in 1940 and from Slippery Rock State Teachers College in 1944 with a degree in education. She retired from Lakeview School District as an elementary teacher in 1985. She was an active member of Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. Peterson was devoted to her family and her faith throughout her life, and she cherished her sisters and friends. She married Harry R. Peterson on Sept. 30, 1944, and he preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1973. Mrs. Peterson is survived by one daughter, Harleen Thomas and her husband, Ric, of Sandy Lake; and four sons, Floyd Peterson and his wife, Karen, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bruce Peterson and his wife, Cheryl, of Greenville, N.C., Scott Peterson and his wife, Shelly, of Sandy Lake, and Jeff Peterson and his wife, Robin, of Apoka, Fla. Slaugenhoup, 95, of 11273 Route 58, Sligo, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born May 21, 1913, in Licking Township, where he was a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Edward and Lula Shindledecker Slaugenhoup. Mr. Slaugenhoup was a 1931 graduate of Sligo High School. He was married July 22, 1937, in Ripley, N.Y., to the former Mary Smith, who preceded him death Dec. 4, 2000. Mr. Slaugenhoup was a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy and served from 1942-1945. He was stationed in Dutch Harbor, Ala., the Philippines and East Port, Maine, during World War II. He received a bachelor's degree from Clarion State Teachers College, working as a school teacher for 42 years until retiring in 1978. He started his teaching career in one-room schools in Kissinger Mills, Monarch, Regal and Rock School in Turniphole. He then taught social studies at Sligo High School, the Rimersburg Annex and Union High School before retiring from teaching in the elementary school at Keystone School District. Mr. Slaugenhoup was a member of Sligo Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also a charter member of the former Murphy Grange, where he held all the offices over the years. In addition, he was a member of the former Sligo Saddle Club and belonged to Shearer-Shick American Legion Post 454 in Rimersburg. In the past, Mr. Slaugenhoup served on the board of directors for the Southern Clarion County Volunteer Ambulance Service. He is survived by two sons, Paul Slaugenhoup and his wife, Sharon, of Parker, and Ray Slaugenhoup and his wife, Karen, of Kittery, Maine; one daughter, Jean McCafferty of Magnolia, Mass.; and seven grandchildren, Garret Slaugenhoup of Anchorage, Ala., Molly Slaugenhoup of Baltimore, Md., David Slaugenhoup of Bristol, Kaitlyn and Jilian McCafferty of Boston, Mass., Abbey Slaugenhoup LaRose of South Portland, Maine, and Robert Slaugenhoup of South Berwick, Maine. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Slaugenhoup was preceded in death by six brothers, Reed, Harry, Frank, Ben, Glenn and Boyd. Mrs. Debra Louise Yoder, 55, of 364 Ross Drive, Saegertown, an Oil City native who was a longtime employee of the postal service, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center. She was born Nov. 2, 1953, in Oil City, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Veloudis) Hanel. She and Harry W. Yoder were married Oct. 13, 1979, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2006. Mrs. Yoder was an active member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, where she had served on the administrative board as well as chairman of the Worship Committee for three years. She retired in 2005 as the postmaster at the Saegertown post office, where she had been employed for 22 years. She also served as the postmaster of the Utica post office from 1979 until 1983. She began her 30-year postal career in 1975 as a distribution clerk for the Oil City post office. A 1971 graduate of Cranberry High School, Debra went on to further her education by graduating from Slippery Rock College in 1975 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. No matter where she lived, she was active in the community. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stoneboro Chapter 110; the National Association of Post Masters of the U.S. (NAPUS); an officer in the Postal Clerks Union while working in Oil City; chaplain of the Kappa Delta Social Sorority; a member of BPO Elks Lodge 219 of Meadville; a member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, also serving as treasurer of the fire department; a member of Saegertown Women's Improvement Club, serving as treasurer for five years; and an active member of French Creek Valley Ducks Unlimited, also serving on the Banquet Committee. Debra also volunteered as a Tiger Cub coach, served as treasurer of Pack 254 and was awarded the Cub Scouter of the Year Award. She was a former member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She is survived by a son, Dustin M. Yoder of Saegertown, two grandchildren Ryan Yoder and Zachary Yoder; and a brother, David Weiford and his wife, Ruth, of Pittsburgh. In addition to her husband of 26 years, Harry, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Harry E. Weiford, and a nephew, William Weiford. She died of lung cancer after giving, in her own words, "a good Irish fight." Born Sept. 29, 1940, in New Haven, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Duffy. She was raised by the late John and Olga Kenny. Mrs. Megeath was married Oct. 16, 1965, to James C. Megeath, who preceded her in death in 1996. Together they lived in Hingham, Mass., Bloomfield, Conn. and for the past 32 years, in Franklin. She was a 1958 graduate of Meriden High School in Connecticut and attended Central State College. Mrs. Megeath spent most of the past 35 years working as a travel agent and was previously employed by several travel agencies. She most recently operated her own independent business, Sally Travel. She often said that she loved having the opportunity to travel the world and to help others do the same. Mrs. Megeath lived an active life in Franklin. She volunteered with many organizations and events, including the YMCA, the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Barrow-Civic Theatre, the Franklin Gardeners Association, The Franklin Club and Applefest. She introduced and organized the annual "Taste of Franklin" event that has enjoyed continued success for the past 14 years. Until recently, she served as the social director of the Business Network Professionals, which greatly benefited from her creative ideas and fun-loving spirit. Most notably, Mrs. Megeath was designated Franklin's Woman of the Year in 2005, an accomplishment she proudly remembered as a culmination of her hard work and love for the town of Franklin. Thomas W. Oelkrue, 68, of 114 Nagel Road, Henry's Bend, Oil City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at his home. Born June 24, 1940, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Willard (Babe) and Josephine C. (Jo) Sepko Oelkrue. A peacetime veteran of the United States Air Force, he served from Jan. 8, 1959, to Jan. 7, 1963, and was a member of the 6927th Alumni Group. He was a 1958 graduate of West Forest High School. Mr. Oelkrue worked as a pressman at Venango Newspapers for more than 35 years until he retired in 2002. He was a life member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He was a Catholic. Mr. Oelkrue belonged to the Fryburg Sportsman Club, PNA, VFW, Eagles and the Pulaski Club. A man with a passion for life, he was everyone's friend. His meticulous nature could be seen in the care he gave to his classic General Motors' cars, his home and the way he mowed his grass and trimmed the shrubs. He enjoyed the river and you might've seen him paddling his canoe or walking around the Bend in his sandals, cutoffs and muscle shirt. He is survived by two sons, Thomas and Jeffrey Oelkrue; a stepson, Darin Heller; a grandson, Dakota Oelkrue; and his former wife, Carolyn Oelkrue. He will be forever remembered by family and friends as a kind, gentle man with strong moral conviction and a family loyalty. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born in 1914 at Roses, Forest County, he was the youngest of 13 children to Cyrus and Agnes Seigworth Schrecengost. He was married in 1941 to Alice Crum, who preceded him in death in 1992. Serving on the home front because of his occupation as a machinist during World War II, he always taught his family about service to his country and how it can be manifested in many ways. To that end, Mr. Schrecengost belonged to many social and civic groups, including the Marienville Area Civic Association, the Lions Club International, Forest County Sportsman Club and the NRA. He was past master of Olive Temple Lodge #557, Coudersport Consistory, Jefferson Royal Arch Chapter #225 and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Mr. Schrecengost became a well respected machinist and an avid sportsman and gunsmith, making many guns for family members over the years. He retired from Knox Glass in Marienville. He was also a member of the Marienville United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Dang Schrecengost of Altus, Okla.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. (Larry) Phyllis Boyd Schrecengost of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four loving grandchildren, Gary Schrecengost and wife, Kris, of Elm, Todd Schrecengost and wife, Deanna, of Belleville, Mich, Amy Turcich and husband, Bronco, of Williamstown, N.J. and Lisa and Alison Vickery of San Jose, Calif. Russell, 77, of Christie Hill Road (Plumer), Oil City, passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, in the home he built with his own hands. Mr Russell was born July 31, 1931, in Plumer, the son of the late John A Russell and Effie Haupt Russell. He graduated from Oil City High School and also attended Clarion State College. Mr. Russell was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from Nov. 20, 1952, to Nov. 19, 1954. He was a member of Plumer Presbyterian Church. Mr. Russell was married June 22, 1957, in Winchester, Va., where he eloped with the former Billie Waitz of Rynd Farm. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2002. Mr. Russell worked as a fireman on the Pennsylvania Railroad for a number of years, then finished his career with 25 years of service at Cyclops, later Armco Steel, in Titusville. Mr. Russell and his wife traveled to Europe, Hawaii and the Bahamas with cousins Donna and Joe Goodman, now of Melbourne, Fla. He enjoyed boxing, auto racing and attending local softball games. He also enjoyed hunting with his son and Matt Sopher, traveling to Florida each winter, and dinners with his friend Carol McClellan of Rouseville. Most of all he loved the time he had with his granddaughter Emily. He was an independent, self-reliant man with a touch of stubbornness who enjoyed doing projects for family and friends. Mr. Russell is survived by a daughter, Cindy Russell and her husband, Dave Hunt, of Hollywood, Fla.; a son, John and his wife, Angelique, of Plumer; and a granddaughter, Emily, of Plumer. He is also survived by two sisters, June Pearson of Plumer and Joyce Matha of Indian Lake; and three nieces, Dawn Matha Addelman, Kim Pearson and Lisa Pearson Ratliff. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Russell was preceded in death by an infant sister and a nephew, Brad Matha. Shaw and Francis Evelyn Keith. He was married Dec. 8, 1957, to the former Barbara T. Harry, who survives. Mr. Shaw was a veteran of the U.S. Army during peacetime. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and country music. He was then deployed to Iraq for a tour of duty, and following his return he was stationed at Camp LeJuene-Jacksonville, N.C., until his honorable discharge. After passing the civil service exam, she moved to Washington D.C., and worked at the Pentagon. Mrs. Stanley met her husband, George Stanley, at a USO dance at Fort Belvoir, Va. They were married April 16, 1947, in St. Mathew Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and moved to the Panama Canal Zone. After working for 25 years as a civilian for the U.S. Army, Mrs. Stanley retired from the judge advocate general's office in the Chief of Claims Division. Mrs. Stanley and her husband returned to Pennsylvania and have enjoyed their retirement years at their home in Marble. Mrs. Stanley enjoyed watching the New York Yankees with her husband, spending time with her family, working in her yard and baking. Mrs. Stanley is survived by three children, George Stanley and his wife, Marie, of Fresno, Calif., John Stanley and his wife, Lynn, of Meridian, Idaho, and Marty Collett and her husband, Bob, of Lucinda; nine grandchildren, Justin and Jessica Stanley, Kimberly, Heather, Holly and Shanelle Stanley, Kelly Heart and her husband, Bill, Christy Sample and her husband, Jason, and Katie Collett; and 12 great-grandchildren, with Blake and Brooke Hart and Brayden and Riley Sample living locally. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Tingley; and one sister, Harriet Nick. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband and wonderful father. Born Nov. 23, 1920, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Martin and Agnes Biela Futyma. He was married July 2, 1949, to Helen Andres by the Rev. Albin Majdanik in the Assumption B.V.M. Church in Oil City. The couple would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary in 2009. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1942 to 1946, and attained the rank of Storekeeper Third Class. He was awarded the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and the American Theater Victory Medal. Mr. Futyma was a 1940 graduate of Oil City High School and has lived in the Oil City area all his life. He was employed by Sears & Roebuck for 43 years, working in various departments in the store during his time there. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Oil City and belonged to the American Legion Post #32 and P.N.A. Club in Oil City. He also enjoyed going to the YMCA, golfing, bowling, swimming, traveling, dancing, hunting and was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He always had time to spend with his family and friends. She was also an avid and accomplished golfer, taking instruction at an early age. She was the only female member of the Franklin High School golf team. Born July 25, 1983, in DuBois, Clearfield County, he was a son of Allen T. and Nancy A. Trimble Smith. He was a 2002 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District in Foxburg. Mr. Smith was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was sent to Paris Island, Beaufort, S.C. for boot camp. He was then deployed to Iraq for a tour of duty and following his return, was stationed at Camp LeJuene-Jacksonville, N.C., until his honorable discharge. He was employed at Courson Racing Engines in Emlenton. Mr. Smith was affiliated with Scrubgrass Presbyterian Church in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and his Black Lab, "Hank." He also enjoyed eating wings from Quaker Steak & Lube and especially all his family. Weaver Sr., 97, of Ninevah, Clarion County, died at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the Golden LivingCenter near Shippenville. Born Jan. 3, 1911, in Forest County, he was a son of the late David and Laura Knight Weaver. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family He was married April 22, 1932, to his next door sweetheart, Harriet Gardner, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2006, after 74 years of marriage.. Mr. Weaver began his working career as a carpenter and with his crew built homes throughout the Knox, Clarion and Oil City area. Later, he was hired to renovate the old CCC camp in Marienville into the Blue Jay Job Corps training facility, afterwards remaining to teach carpentry. When Blue Jay closed, he set up the countertop shop for Source Incorporated in Shippenville and served as foreman until his retirement. After retiring, he continued to farm and later became involved with drilling for Natural Gas. Mr. Weaver was a member of the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church at the Crossroads near Knox, where he held numerous offices over the years and was a church delegate to conference several times. Mr. Weaver was a member of the Salem School Board and later the Keystone School board. He was also a member of the Edenburg lodge #550 F. and A.M. and the Coudersport Consistory. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife, having visited all the contiguous states, as well as Europe, Asia and Africa. He loved and enjoyed his family and his church, having often repeated, " We are so glad God is with us. He has been so good to us and our family, and whatever he has in store for us, we know it is as God has planned." He is survived by three sons, Richard Lee "Dick" Weaver and wife, Judy, of Mars, David William "Bill" Weaver and wife, Berta, of Monroe and John "Jack" Weaver Jr. and wife, Muriel, of RD Knox; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in 1911 and died in 1991. he was the son of Martin & Ida Swartzfager. He was married to a Dorothy and had 2 daughters and they lived in Clarion Co. His daughters names were Vicki & Sissy but I am not positive about their names being Vicki & Sissy as I have not seen them since I was a wee little girl.. I have been trying to track them down for years without any luck. I am the daughter of Joann who was the daughter of Raymond's brother Ken Swartzfager. Born Aug. 30, 1931, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Clarabelle MacDonald Bessler. She was married May 31, 1952, to Arthur J. "Mike" Baum, who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1983. Mrs. Baum had worked as a legal secretary for numerous area attorneys. She was a member of the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and had many friends at the Oakdale Senior Center. Mrs. Baum was an avid reader, card player and a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Baum is survived by three children, Maurene Baum of Imperial, Kathy Lowrey and her husband, Jeff, of Oil City, and Peter Baum and his wife, Kim, of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Kline and her significant other, Eric Aiken, of Seneca, Eric Stover of Raleigh, N.C., Eric Lowrey of Oil City, Jackson Mellring and Angie of Seneca, Jill Kenniston and Rob of Oil City, Jamie Trinch and Craig of Franklin, and Nicole Shreve of Edinboro; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Pete Bessler and Mary Ann Tologo of Oil City; and three sisters, Gladys Huffman and Robert of Knox, Joyce Bessler of Oil City, and Carol Deyoung and Jerry of Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Baum was preceded in death by an infant brother, and a sister-in-law, Lee Bessler. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Morrison Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Mildred L."Mid" Botz, 90, of Parker passed away late Monday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2008, in Clarion Hospital, following an illness. Born June 22, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Edna M. Goodale Gearhart. Mrs. Botz was a longtime faithful member of Parker United Methodist Church, and, as long as her health permitted, she was an active member of the United Methodist Women of the church. She was employed 28 years as food service director of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District, serving in all food service capacities prior to being named director. Mrs. Botz is survived by her son, Ronald "Ron" Botz, the longtime head basketball coach of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District, and his wife, Judie, of Parker; by three granddaughters, Paula Wetzel and her husband, Dan, of Foxburg, Ronda Futcher and her husband, Joe, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Leah Hopkins and her husband, Rodney, of Sandy Hook, Va., and seven great-grandchildren, Logan and Halee Wetzel, Marisa, Maraya, and Maddee Futcher, and Tyler and Alyssa Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Botz, who passed on July 18, 1973; a granddaughter, Madison Futcher; a sister, Ruth Mong; and a brother, Larry Gearhart. Harold Alvin Flick, 85, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Clarion, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, in Titusville, Fla. Born Oct. 15, 1923, in Union, Ky., he was the son of Tull Waring Flick and Maude Geneva Flick, nee Beemon. On Dec. 28, 1946, he married Mary Alice Smith of Clarion, who preceded him in death in 1987. Also preceding him in death were a son, Robert, and a brother, Thomas. Mr. Flick was a manager for Seagram's Distilleries. He then became the secretary of the Clarion Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in the establishment of the Autumn Leaf Festival more than 50 years ago. He also headed the Hazleton Chamber of Commerce where he helped develop the CanDo Industrial Park. As vice president of the Toledo Foreign Trade Zone, Mr. Flick promoted expansion to the area. He was then promoted to vice president of site locations for major shopping malls for the Debartolo Corp. Mr. Flick established Site Finders Inc., setting up locations for more than 100 Arby's, Pizza Huts and Wendy's. At one time he owned 13 Arby's franchises before retiring to Ft. Myers, Fla. Mr. Flick was a Roman Catholic. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College, an officer in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict, a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of The Boone Society and numerous other genealogy societies. He enjoyed history and researching and recording family genealogy going back to the 1600s. His favorite pastimes were reading, traveling and spending time with his family. Mr. Flick is survived by two sons, William of State College and John and his wife, Laura, of Roanoke, Va.; two daughters, Linda Pagani and her husband, Wayne, of State College, and Mary Westerman and her husband, Graham, of Snellville, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kifer was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Church of Clarion, Clarion Lodge No. 277 F and AM, Jefferson Chapter No. 255 Second Coudersport Consistory. He was also a member of Owens Golden Emblem and Quarter Century Clubs. Mr. Kifer enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. In addition to his second wife, Mr. Kifer is survived by a son, Gary E. Kifer and his wife, Donna, of Wilson, N.C., two daughters, Patricia Schwarz and her husband, Peter, of Severn, Md., and Janis L. Kifer of McKeesport, and 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. William McVay "Bill" Petre, 91, of Warren and Sarasota, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Warren General Hospital. Mr. Petre was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Hagerstown, Md., and moved with his family to Erie, where he graduated from Academy High School. After attending Allegheny College in Meadville, Mr. Petre received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1941. He served as a field artillery officer in the European theater during World War II. His experiences included participating in the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp. Honorably discharged as a lieutenant colonel, his military training and experience shaped the rest of his life and that of his family. He maintained a lifelong attachment to West Point. While still a cadet, Mr. Petre met Mary Prudence "Prue" Chipman, a student at Sarah Lawrence College. They were married in October 1943 and enjoyed a long and happy life together. Mr. Petre left the Army to work with his father-in-law in the family business as independent oil producers in Allegany County, N.Y. In 1955, he joined South Penn Oil Co., which later became Pennzoil Co., headquartered in Oil City. In 1966, Mr. Petre and his family moved to Warren where he worked for United Refining Co., serving as a director and secretary of the company. He retired in 1981. Mr. Petre and his wife traveled extensively, wintered in Sarasota, Fla. and enjoyed their summer homes in Warren and Cuba Lake, N.Y. Mr. Petre was an active member of Oil City's Grace United Methodist Church as well as the First United Methodist Church in Warren. He received an honorary lifetime membership to the Salvation Army Advisory Board in recognition of his years of service. Mr. Petre is survived by two daughters, Donna Petre Hampton of Lakewood, N.Y., and Pamela Petre Reis of Rolling Hills, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Toner Petre of Chautauqua, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Petre was preceded in death by his wife, Prue, and a son, Charles John. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Hope Road, Titusville, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at her residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Oct. 8, 1958, in Titusville, she was the daughter of the late Hubert B. and Mary Nelson Martin. Ms. Martin was a graduate of Titusville High School with the Class of 1977. She had been employed at Weyerhauser Choice Woods in Titusville since Feb. 12, 1986, and until her recent illness. Ms. Martin was an avid member of the Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Department. and Ladies Auxiliary. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bruce Shorts Post 5958 of the VFW in Titusville as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cleo J. Ross Post 368 of the American Legion in Titusville. She was a member of St. Titus Church. Ms. Martin was an avid baker and enjoyed volunteering her time to numerous organizations. She is survived by two brothers, Nelson H. Martin of Pleasantville and Curtis P. Martin of Titusville; three nieces; a nephew; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew. She is also survived by her companion of 22 years, Arthur "Skeeter" Barr of Titusville. In addition to her parents, Ms. Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph O. Martin, and a sister-in-law, Caroline Martin. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. A vigil service will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. today, and members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 6:45 p.m. today. Born Sept. 16, 1935, in Asheville, N.C., he was the son of Allan Kaywood Owen and Mabel Dalton Owen. Mr. Owen was married Dec. 23, 1953, in Asheville, N.C., to Yvonne Wills, who survives. He retired in 1998 after 35 years as a construction supervisor with Alltel Telephone Co. Mr. Owen was a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel in Brookville. He was also a member of the Hobah Lodge 276 of the F&AM in Brookville, the 32nd Degree Masons and the Coudersport Consistory. Mr. Owen enjoyed motorcycle riding and belonged to Chapter I Gold Wing Road Riders Association in Reynoldsville. He also was a member of the Tri-County Chapter Harley Owner's Group of DuBois. Sasso, 82, of Toms River, Va., a World War II veteran, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, in his home. Born in Belleville, Mr. Sasso moved to Lakewood, Va,. in 1987 and then Toms River in 1990. Mr. Sasso worked for Craters Manufacturing Co. in Tionesta and retired from there in 1984. He also worked for Bartley Manor in Jackson for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed horse racing , golf and his family life. Mr. Sasso is survived by his wife, Roberta (nee Cessna); two sons, Louis Sasso and his wife, Dana, of Whiting, Va., and Joseph Sasso and his wife, Virginia, of Brick, Va.; a brother, Armond Sasso Forked River, Va.; two sisters, Viola Grecco of Nutley, Va., and Edith Krier of Beachwood, Va.; and five grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Alex, Amanda and Alyssa. Shreckengost who preceded her in death on June 9, 2008. Mrs. Shreckengost graduated from high school at the Porter School. She was a member of the Oakwood Presbyterian Church.     3. Hi Bev., Would love o know more about yur Kahle connections. My son't bussiness partner is William Kahle from Clarion Co. He is about 41 years old. I talked to him once about his family and wrote some info down but have since lost it-probably in my stack of gen. stuff to do. He does have confers and Snmyders in his family as I recall. I told my son he is probably a distant cousin but haven't had a chance to prove it. Who were Anna Elizabeth Snyder's family? Only one I have is married to Boyd Stahlman and her birth and death are not same but in same time frame. I will try to get Bill Kahle's parents' names as well as his wife's family. Bill now lives in OHio.
