So between 1900 and 1910, she had 2 more children who also died. Where did you get John's middle name? Lykes. I have him just as John L. True, Lykes was his mother's maiden name, but do you have a document? Leslie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Wassum gave birth to 4 children and 3 were living at that time: Grace A.; Ray A. and Hazel D. which I am sure are the same as you found. They still had the same three children in 1910 so I don't think they had more. I couldn't find them in the 1920 Census and in 1930, it was just Charles and Emma. Since Mary Crick was a stepchild of John McGee, I am not going to pursue her life--just acknowledge that she existed. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. PA. She (Mary) died 11 Feb 1892, but I don't know if she married. You should try to find a Crick researcher. Wilson Crick and Emily Platt marry about Aug. 1859. Wilson Crick died 27 Jun 1862 in Gaines Mill, Hanover Co. Virginia, and Emily (Platt) Crick (Mrs. Crick) then married John L. McGee on 30 Jan 1867. They are married by Rev. James Montgomery in the Presbyterian Church of Clarion Co. John L. McGee and Emily have Emma P. McGee b. Dec 1869 in Clarion Co. Emma P. McGee marries Charles Augustus Wassum b. Sep 1863 on 24 Nov 1889 in Clarion Co. I have 3 children listed for them. There may be more than 3, but that is all I have at this time. If John L. McGee does die in March of 1880, then he should be listed in the Mortality Schedule. If he is not there, then he possibly died before Sept. 1879. But either way, he died before 1880, which does not match the printed material for the Rimersburg Cemetery, and or the printed material concerning the accident he had in Verona. Emily declares herself a widow, and she is a working woman, a dress maker in 1880. This is either a typo with the printed material, or this is not our John L. McGee in Verona. I am still waiting for someone who manages the site that lists this info, to reply to me. My opinion, is that there was/is a misreading or typo of the date 1886. Could be 1880 as the 6 and 0, could be aged and difficult to read, but really could be any time between 1870 and 1880. I hope you will contact me and I can share my notes. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Bonisue59 Surnames: McGee Mayhew/Mayhugh Platt Crick Wassum Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.clarion/4038/mb.ashx Message Board Post: JOHN LYKES McGEE 1824 - 1886 ???? I was given information with editorial proof that he was killed as a result of being struck by a train in Verona, PA on March 4, 1886. The newspaper article I was provided did not have the actual printed date on it, just someone's handwritten date: March 5, 1886. The article states the accident occurred the previous day. Someone also sent me their gen file for this family and therein is a note stating he was buried on March 6, 1886 in Rimersberg Cemetery, Clarion County, PA. He was first married to Hattie Mayhew/Mahugh and in the 1860 Census in Clarion Co, PA, he is listed with Hattie and the first eight of their nine children. The last one was born in 1861. Hattie died in 1866 and John married Emma Platt in 1867 who gave birth to his tenth child, Emma McGee in 1868. Emily was either married to a Crick previously or at least had a child named Mary Crick born 1860. In the 1870 Census I find John and Emily still in Clarion Co, with two of John and Hattie's children, plus Mary Crick and Emma McGee. The confusion comes when reading the 1880 Census. Emily is the head of household, a widow and living with Mary Crick and Emma McGee. I could not find John L. McGee or even John McGee in the 1880 Census. Emily was still living in Clarion County. If John died in 1886, where was he in 1880 and why is Emily listed as a widow and head of household? Does anyone know??? It has occurred to me that a sloppily written 0 could be mistaken for a 6 and perhaps he died in March 1880 before the Census was taken that year. Another question: Can anyone verify who Emma McGee married? I was told her half-sister Lizzy McGee married Charles Augustus Wassum, but according to the Census 1900 - 1930, his wife was Emma, so I am thinking he married the younger daughter or perhaps married Lizzy and she died soon after and then he married Emma. Thanks for any input on this! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Born Aug. 3, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Joseph and Hilda Gruener. He attended Perrysville High School on the North Side. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He enlisted and went off to fight along with his two older brothers. All returned safely. When he returned home from the war, he began dating Dolores Roth, whom he had known from their days at Perrysville High School. They were married April 16, 1947. He studied to become a welder and began working on Neville Island, before an illness forced him to abandon his welding career. After working briefly at several jobs, he found his niche at Keystone Oaks School District, where he worked for many years maintaining the school buildings and the football stadium both inside and out. He was an avid golfer, loved the Allegheny River, and settled into a small cottage there after retiring from Keystone Oaks. His very first golf outing was at Foxburg in the summer of 1962. He picked up the game very quickly and was soon in demand as a partner for several golf outings in the Pittsburgh area. He never gave up his love for golf, and as recently as last week was complaining about the weather because he couldn't wait to get out there and hit a few. In his early years, he was an active hunter and was quite proud of a newspaper clipping that showed him with a huge bear he shot when he was 19. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dolores Gruener; two children, Robert L. Gruener and Kathy (Lee) Fierst; four grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Gruener, Jessica (Andy) Manucy, Stacy (Gary) Hawranko, and Stephanie (Doug) Johnston; seven great-grandchildren, Addison Gruener, Owen Gruener, Joseph Alcorn, Avery Hawranko, Sydney Hawranko, Olivia Johnston and Alyssa Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. 1. [PACLARIO] Emminger Burials
    2. Friends- I'm looking for a list of Emmingers who died in Clarion County in the 1840s-1900s time period. I thought I found this information on-line some time ago, but now I'm unable to locate where I found this information. It just seems like last year, I found a list of the people buried in various Cemeteries in Clarion County, and I told myself that I'll look at that for Emmingers at a later time. Well.....I can't find it. I hope someone can help. I'm specifically looking for a list of all of the Emingers/Emmingers who are buried in Clarion County Cemeteries. (They lived in Elk, Farmington, and Highland/Helen Townships.) Can someone please tell me how I would find this information. Sincerely, George Hoyt in CA **************Get a jump start on your taxes.
