Still trying to connect our Latimer/Lattimore family with a Wilkins family from the Porter Township, Clarion County area. We have a Nancy - unknown last name - who married James Latimer in 1831 or there abouts - she was born about 1806 and died in 1880 in Strannanville, PA. James and Nancy had a son they named John Wilkins Latimer so I am making the leap that Nancy may have been a Wilkins. It's worth looking into if anyone can help me. Many thanks in advance.

Have you considered the possibility that your William Freeman might be the son of William Freeman who had a tract of land in Sugarcreek Township of Armstrong County, which is just across the river from Madison? The old William appears in the 1800 census of Armstrong County in Buffalo Township. Buffalo later spawned off Sugarcreek Township, and it in turn spawned Washington Township, which is where the Freeman land was. In 1800 the senior William Freeman was older than 45, so he is not the one you seek, but he had 5 sons, three of whom were born in the 1790s. I am still seeking information on "our" William Latimer - We know little about him but the "History of Porter Township" - Ch. 65 says "he came with his family, James, Dinan, Jan, Mary and George to Leatherwood, PA in 1812. The latter three have lived on the same property near Brinkerton ever since. Mr. Latimer came from Northampton Co. to Licking, this county in 1807." We know his wife's name was Anne - do not know her last name and that they were born in Ireland. We understand he had a number of brothers - we'd like to find out who they were - also looking for Anne's maiden name and of course, any other info available - if we knew where they were buried we could get some info that way. Anne and Wm. had children - James Latimer b. about 1800 Willian Dinnin - b after 1800 died in 1885 in Iowa, Mary b about 1814, George b. about 1820 - any help at all with this family would be greatly appreciated. We also are trying to find out James Latimer's wife's maiden name - she was a Nancy - born about 1806 in PA and died in 1880 in Strattenville, Clarion Co. James and Nancy had a son, John Wilkins Latimer and we are wondering if Nancy might have been a Wilkins but we haven't found anything to prove that yet. Thanks again for any help.
