    3. Hilda M. Harris, 302 Hiland Ave., Oil City Paul S. Kepple, Sharon, East Brady native Jack W. Osman, Alexandria, Va., formerly of Oil City Hilda M. Harris, 83, of 302 Hiland Ave., Oil City, died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home. Born Aug. 30, 1921, in Knox, she was the daughter of James A. and Freda Hartzell Wice. She was a 1940 graduate of Oil City High School and had lived in Oil City all of her life. Mrs. Harris had worked as an Avon salesperson for more than 35 years and was a member of the President's Club of Avon. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Oil City and the Farther With Christ Class of the church. Mrs. Harris enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was married June 17, 1946, to Ralph F. Harris, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Judy Reilly and husband, Tom, of Franklin, Sandra Bailey and Steve Conca of Folsom, Calif., Roxann Harris and husband, Joe Kloss, of Lonetree, Colo., Pamela Sponenburgh and husband, Steve, of Youngsville and Doreen Kurschinske and friend, Sam Schrecengost, of Shippenville; one son, Ralph Edward Harris of Oil City; 10 grandchildren, Christine Liscinsky and husband, Steve, Lisa Reilly, Chad Reilly, Emily Kloss, Joey Kloss, Stephanie Sponenburgh, Kristin Kurschinske, Ashley Rapp, Heather Rapp and Autumn Rapp; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Liscinsky. She also is survived by three brothers, Thomas Wice and wife, Janet, of Plumer, James S. Wice and wife, Carol, of Oil City and Clifford A. Wice of Seneca. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Bailey; three sisters, Helen McLaughlin, Melda Wice and Edna Wice; and two brothers, Norbert Wice and Russell Wice. Kepple, 72, of 87 Wengler Ave., Sharon, died of natural causes at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at his residence following a brief illness. Born Sunday, Oct. 11, 1931, in East Brady, he was the son of Stanley and Margaret Flick Kepple. He was a 1951 graduate of Sligo High School and a graduate of Clarion State Teachers College with a bachelor of science degree in education. He then went on to earn a master's degree of science in education from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Mr. Kepple owned the former Kepple Realty in Sharon and previously taught school in Clarion, Midland and Austin, Pa. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors. Mr. Kepple was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, photography and collecting antiques. Mr. Kepple was married March 21, 1959, to the former Lois L. Havens, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter and husband, Melissa D. and Donald D. Noble Jr. of Sharon; a son and his wife, Brian and Brenda Kepple of Sharon; three granddaughters, Brittany Noble, Suzanne Kepple and Kesley Kepple; and two grandsons, Todd Noble and Zachary Kepple. He also is survived by two sisters, Mary Kriebel and husband, Ivan, and Martha Kepple, all of Callensburg; and two brothers, Arnold Kepple of Callensburg and Ronald Kepple and wife, Judith, of Shepherdstown, W.Va. Osman, 63, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Oil City, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at his home of natural causes. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Jack E. and Evelyn A. Osman, who were born and raised in Oil City and were former residents. Mr. Osman was a 1959 graduate of Oil City High School. He attended Allegheny College, Meadville; the University of Pittsburgh School of Business; and the Wharton School of Business, Philadelphia. He served in the United States Army for three years and received an honorable discharge. Mr. Osman was employed as advertising sales representative by various publishers and magazines including McGraw-Hill Publications, Pittsburgh; U.S. News & World Report, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.; and Compass Publications, Arlington, Va., where he last worked in 2001. Surviving are Sandra Socrates of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Pittsburgh, his domestic partner for 20 years; two sons from a previous marriage, Jon C. Osman and T.J. Osman, both of Pittsburgh; and six grandchildren. He also is survived by his mother, Evelyn A. Osman of Lancaster; and one sister, Joanne Osman Haberberger of Reading, a graduate of Oil City High School, Clarion University and Penn State. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack E. Osman. His cremains were interred Saturday, Aug. 28, in the First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster.     3. Darrell Robert Frederick Sr., Knox Oliver Norman Kelly, 439 Wiley Ave., Franklin Francis Sylvester Lutz, Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Franklin Patrick E. Macko, Parker Yolande S. Nielsen, Mentor, Ohio, formerly of Tionesta Darrell Robert Frederick Sr. of 107 Rossman Ave., Knox, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Clarview Nursing Center near Sligo following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born May 16, 1921, in Turnip Hole, Clarion County, he was the son of Claude and Sarah Elder Frederick. Following his graduation in 1939 from St. Petersburg High School, he and lifelong friend, Harry Edinger, joined the Army Air Corps Dec. 15, 1939. During World War II, Mr. Frederick served in the China-Burma-India Theater with the 1106th Quartermaster Co. Service Group. They flew supplies over the "hump" to United States and Chinese soldiers. He was a member of the China-Burma-India Veterans group. Mr. Frederick worked as a lineman for Penelec, retiring in 1981 after 34 years of service. He served several terms as mayor of Knox and was a charter member and volunteer with the Knox Area Volunteer Ambulance Co. Mr. Frederick was a member of the New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church at Emlenton RD. He was a past master and a 50-year member of the Edenburg Lodge No. 550. F. & A.M. He also belonged to the Venango Lodge of Perfection of which he was past thrice potent master and the Coudersport Consistory and the Zem Zem Temple in Erie. He was the first chapter Dad for the Knox DeMolay Lodge. Mr. Frederick was a member of the VFW and the Berlin-Bowser Post 277, American Legion in Knox. He was a past member and King Lion of the Knox Lions Club. He enjoyed camping with his family and making wonderful friends and memories through years of tent and trailer camping and boating. He also was an avid hunter and NASCAR fan. Mr. Frederick was married Aug. 7, 1945, to Maude Senger, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Valerie Ripple of Ford City; a son, Darrell Frederick Jr. and wife, Susan, of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren, Heather Frederick Woolford and husband, John of Cockysville, Md., Steven Ripple and Kimberly Ripple of Ford City; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Meghan Woolford. In addition to his parents, Mr. Frederick was preceded in death by a brother, Chauncey Frederick; a sister, Helen Jean Frederick; and his son-in-law, William Ripple. Oliver Norman Kelly, 84, of 439 Wiley Ave., Franklin, died at 7:18 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Semper Care at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 5, 1920, in Franklin, he was the son of Delbert and Mabel Sanders Kelly. Mr. Kelly retired in 1961 after working 22 years as an accountant at CPT. He was a member of Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mr. Kelly owned publishing companies including Progress Talent, Mercy Music and Country Star Talent Co., and a record company, Country Star Records. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Country Music Association and was an accomplished musician who played several different instruments. Mr. Kelly was a 50-year member of the IOOF. He attended many of the Venango County Blind Association functions. Mr. Kelly was married Oct. 27, 1951, to June L. Wagner, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Debra S. Eakin of Oil City; four grandchildren, Angela Brown and husband, David, of Cookeville, Tenn., Clinton James Eakin and girlfriend, Christine Bieber, of Butler, and Mary Beth Eakin and Brian Scott Eakin, both of Seneca; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Brown of Cookeville, Tenn., and Chase Eakin of Butler. Francis Sylvester Lutz, 81, of San Marco Drive, Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Franklin, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Ormond Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach. Mr. Lutz moved in 2002 from Franklin to Ormand Beach. Born April 26, 1923, in Snydersburg, he was the son of Frank and Minnie Lander Lutz. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Lutz was a lineman/foreman with Pennsylvania Electric Co. in Oil City for 35 years. He was married for 62 years to the former Virginia Neuland, who survives in Ormond Beach. Also surviving are a son, Bill Lutz of Cranberry; a daughter, Suzanne Ganzel and husband, the Rev. Neil J. Ganzel Jr., of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Amy Kathleen Hartzell and husband, Sgt. Michael Hartzell, and Emily Marie Lutz; and one great-grandchild, Andrew William Hartzell. Macko, 40, of Parker, died at 3:09 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. Born Nov. 1, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas, he was the son of Jessie Mast Macko of Seneca and the late Frank Macko. He had served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Macko was a truck driver by occupation. He was employed by Ward Trucking Co. of Altoona at the time of his death. He previously had driven for Venco Trucking at Foxburg. He was married July 18, 2004, to the former Dixie Anderson, who survives. Born Jan. 11, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Nielsen lived in Tionesta for more than 20 years, returning to Mentor in February of this year. After many years of vacationing in Tionesta, Mrs. Nielsen and her husband, Dane, decided to retire and make their home in there. She enjoyed the wildlife and the natural beauty of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Nielsen served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Spar during World War II. She and her late husband raised their four daughters in Cleveland. She was active in senior citizen groups and at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Tionesta. Mrs. Nielsen was a bank teller for National City Bank's Southgate, Ohio, branch for 24 years, retiring in 1984. Surviving are four daughters, Sandra Riddell and husband, Jim, of King, N.C., Linda Hammerstrom and husband, Bill, of Mentor, Ohio, Vicki Daumasso and husband, Joe, of Apex, N.C., and Jo-Anne Nielsen of Maple Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Vicky Collins and husband, Al, of South Euclid, Ohio. Her husband, Dane T. Nielsen, is deceased. Wheeler, Stoneboro Mary Jane Baughman, 85, formerly of Store Road, Fairmount City, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in Laurelbrook Landing, Brookville. Born July 6, 1919, in Shannondale, she was the daughter of Newton and Elise Kiehl Miller. Mrs. Baughman was an active lifelong member of the Shannondale Zion Lutheran Church where she was a Christian caregiver and a youth mentor. She was a homemaker and belonged to the Summerville Card Club. Mrs. Baughman was married to Oliver P. Baughman, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Carda Horton of Pittsburgh and Myra Shofestall of Camden, Maine; and three grandchildren, Charles N. Horton M.D., Harvest Shofestall and Gabriel Powers. She also is survived by four sisters, Audrey Greenawalt of New Bethlehem, Lois Miller of Shannondale, Cleo Miller of Frogtown and Joan Miller of Brookville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Baughman was preceded in death by four brothers, Axe, Newton, Leon and Jay Miller; and two sisters, Katherine Harman and Arebelle Hartzell. Born Nov. 27, 1928, in Oil City, she was the daughter of John C. and Grace M. Lee Miller. Mrs. Buchanan was a graduate of Cranberry High School. She was a hostess/waitress at Shirley's Restaurant. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Trinity Harvest Church in Petrolia. She enjoyed reading, bingo, crossword puzzles, trivia and history. Mrs. Buchanan was married in 1947 to Dick Buchanan, who died in 1981. Surviving are a son, Richard L. Buchanan and wife, Rita, of Boyers; a daughter, Darlene Sharrar and husband, Ralph, of Seneca; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara A. Brakeman; one brother; and four sisters. Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery. Larry E. Goheen, 50, of South Mechanicsville Road, Clarion, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his residence following a long battle with cancer. Born March 14, 1954, in Brookville, he was the son of Edward "Shang" Goheen of Strattanville and the late Shirley McAninch Goheen, who died June 27, 1995. Mr. Goheen was employed at Owens-Brockway Glass Plant in Clarion for 25 years until his illness. He coached Clarion Little League for 10 years. Mr. Goheen enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and NASCAR racing, and spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was married Aug. 30, 1974, to the former Debra Heeter, who survives, along with his father of Strattanville. Also surviving are one son, Garrett Goheen and wife, Monica, of Clarion; two daughters, Marta Songer and fiance, Nick Adams, of Clarion and Deena Ludolph and husband, Donnie, of Newport, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Austin and Kaydee Songer, Marisa Adams and Curvin and Bracey Goheen, all of Clarion. He also is survived by his mother-in-law, Kaye Heeter of Callensburg; a sister-in-law, Eunice Goheen-Shreffler of Shippenville; a special friend, Donna Smith of Clarion; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. King had resided at her Harrisville address for the past 35 years. She formerly lived in Springville. Born Dec. 18, 1924, in Potter's Brook, Potter County, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Adah Dunham Outman. She attended public schools in Allegany, N.Y. Mrs. King had worked for Dr. Kamel Aoun, M.D., in Franklin and also worked in housekeeping at the Franklin VFW and St. Bonaventure College, Allegany, N.Y. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Franklin and also was a member of the Victory Township Community League in Victory Township. Mrs. King was a member of the Hebron Church in Victory Township. She enjoyed quilting, baking and her family. Mrs. King was married Nov. 16, 1942, to Freeman W. King, who died Feb. 14, 1995. Surviving are six daughters, Leona B. Hanna and husband, Stephen F., of Harrisville, Adah M. King Glenn of Harrisville, Peggy I. King and companion, Leonard Lowe, of Bartow, Fla., Helen L. Davis and husband, John H., of Broken Arrow, Okla., Beatrice E. Carr and husband, Steven P., of Harrisville and Florence M. Goshorn and husband, Ricky, of Tulsa, Okla.; six sons, Ronald F. King and wife, Ruby, of Rose Hill, N.C., DeWayne A. King and wife, Betty, of Harrisville, Robert W. King and companion, Karin Robinson, of Harrisville, Larry D. Clair D. McNany, 87, of Pine Terrace Road, Shippenville, formerly of Wentlings Corners, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his residence. Born Sept. 16, 1916, in Perryville, he was the son of George and Anna Wike McNany, and was raised in the Big Bend area near Emlenton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific on the USS Guam as a gunnery mate. In 2003, he attended the 10th reunion of his ship in Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. McNany retired in 1981 from Quaker State Refining in Emlenton after 35 years of service. During the depression, he worked with the CCC in Philadelphia and Marienville. He was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ in Monroe where he had served on consistory as a deacon and elder. He also was a sextant for several years. Mr. McNany was a member of the Monroe Community Club. He was an avid carpenter and built his own home in Wentlings Corners in 1957. Mr. McNany enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and friends and the Lawrence Welk Show. He was married June 28, 1938, to Mildred L. Daniels, who died in 1996. Donald Wiley Squyres, 60, 176 Duncan Road, Harrisville, Irwin Township, Venango County, died at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a six-day stay there. Born Aug. 21, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas., he was the son of Leonard and Hallie Marie Voss Squyres. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Mr. Squyres retired in 1995 from Cooper Energy Services where he was employed as a chipper in the foundry for 22 years. He loved music, Elvis Presley, home decorating and studying the Bible. Mr. Squyres was of the Protestant faith. He was married Aug. 21, 1969, to Roberta Mae "Bobbie Mae" Barnes, who survives. They were happily married for 35 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, a herbalist and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, along with fishing and her family. She was a member of the Sandy Lake Alliance Church. Kunselman, South Bethlehem Jane E. Wolbert, 106 Lutz Drive, Lucinda Lawrence J. Barrett, 82, of Clover Avenue, Knox, died at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Clarion Hospital. Born Aug. 19, 1922, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of James L. and Margaret Geever Barrett. He was a graduate of Edinboro University and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Barrett was a second lieutenant, infantry unit commander in Company 1, 78th Infantry Division, 309th Infantry Regiment, serving in France and Germany during World War II. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and received the European, African, Middle East Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Barrett was an industrial designer, having worked many years for Chrysler and the Ford Motor Co. He and his family moved back to Knox in 1978. Mr. Barrett enjoyed reading, history and following politics and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He was married June 14, 1952, in St. Patrick Cathedral in New York City to Eleanor Clover, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John Lawrence Barrett and wife, Loren, of New York City; a daughter, Mary Osellame and husband, Albert, of Bozeman, Mont.; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Nicholas Osellame. He also is survived by a sister, Rose Marie Barrett of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Caparosa and Margaret Hutchinson. "Jack" Carey, 68, of 1 Sycamore St., Oil City, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin. Born Dec. 15, 1935, in Oil City, he was the son of James H. and Catherine Lonergan Carey. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mr. Carey had worked in construction for Bouquin's, as a painter while living in Arizona and last worked for Beals Personal Care Home in Franklin. He was a member of the Pulaski Club and the VFW. Mr. Carey enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Carnahan, 86, of Tionesta, died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004. Among her six surviving children are Richard, Robert and Dennis Carnahan and Janet Bruner, all of Tionesta; and a sister, Helen Kinch of Tionesta. Col. Allen H. Foreman, (U.S. Army ret), 94, a resident of Kane since 1986, formerly of Tionesta and Oil City, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in North Arundel Hospital, Glen Burnie, Md. Born Feb. 26, 1910, in Tionesta, he was the son of Vivian and Hazel Foreman. When pre-school age, the family moved to Oil City where he attended public school. After graduation in 1928 from high school, Col. Foreman worked as a reporter for The Oil City Blizzard until January 1929 when he entered Maryville College in Tennessee. In May 1930 he enlisted in the Army and served as a private in the 29th Infantry at Fort Benning, Ga., until July 1931 when he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point. He graduated from West Point and was commissioned as a second lieutenant with the Class of 1935. During World War II, Col. Foreman served overseas from July 1942 to August 1945 as a tank destroyer officer in Tunisia and Italy and then with the First U.S. Army in the drive from Normandy to Leipzig. During the next 20 years, he served his country as an Army officer in numerous capacities, both at home and abroad, and retired Aug. 31, 1965, at Governors Island, N.Y., where he was the Assistant Chief of Staff, First U.S. Army. Following retirement from the Army, Col. Foreman earned a master's of arts degree at Villanova University and served as an English instructor at Valley Forge Military Academy from 1966 to 1975. Col. Foreman was a member of East Kane Methodist Church, the Rotary Club of Kane, Bucktail Chapter of the Retired Officers Association and the Society of Mayflower Descendants. His interests included golf (he never rode in a cart), bowling, gardening, walking and discussing politics. He married a high school classmate, the former Marjorie Luella Anderson of Oil City, Dec. 21, 1935, and she died Aug. 6, 1985. From this marriage are four surviving sons, Allen H. Foreman Jr., of Edgewater, Md., Robert J. Foreman of Carlsbad, Calif., Thomas A. Foreman of Gainesville, Fla., and James R. Foreman of Lake City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Tomiko and Andrew; and one great-grandchild, Karen. On Oct. 1, 1986, he married Mrs. L. Catherine Galbo, widow of Joseph J. Galbo, both longtime residents of Kane. She died July 10, 2000. From this marriage are three surviving stepsons, William A. Galbo of Barnegat, N.J., Philip E. Galbo of Meadville and Samuel J. Galbo of Corry. A memorial service will be held in Kane at a later date. Interment will be in West Point, N.Y. Mr. Kunselman loved the outdoors and hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking. He was married in Salem Feb. 25, 1955, to the former Bonnie L. Mathers, who survives. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February. He loved to read and study the Bible. He loved animals and was devoted to his faithful little dog, "Brandy." He also was a student of Civil War history.
