Rose, Texas, formerly of Franklin Ellen Louise Jennings Ellen Louise Jennings, 85, of Valrico, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004. Born June 10, 1919, in Mercer, she spent most of her life in the Franklin and Rocky Grove areas. Mrs. Jennings was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and spent much of her life giving to and caring for others. She was married to William H. Jennings, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Jennings is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Jones and her husband, Dan, of Valrico, Fla., and Marilyn Snyder and her husband, Roger, of Tionesta; her grandchildren, Kimberly and Mark Jones and Eric and Shannon Wagner; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her sisters, Hester Mackell and Lucille Williams; and a son, James Edward Jennings. Memorial services will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Jennings' name to the Jim Jennings Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden at the Sacramento Zoological Society, 3930 W. Land Park Drive, Sacramento, Calif., 95822-1123. Robert J. Mennor Robert J. Mennor, 75, of 208 E. Beaver St., Mercer, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, in United Community Hospital, Grove City, following a brief illness. Born July 29, 1929, in Donegal Township, Butler County, he was a son of George and Marie Hohn Mennor. Mr. Mennor lived in Chicora and Franklin for many years before moving to Mercer in the early 1970s. He was an over-the-road truck driver with Pittsburgh-Philadelphia Carriers, Werner Continental and Halls Motor Transit, retiring in 1987 with 32 years of safe-driving service. Mr. Mennor was a member of Teamsters No. 261 and a 50-year member of the Moose lodges in Chicora and Mercer. He also belonged to the Wilbur Rhodes VFW post and to the American Legion in Mercer. Mr. Mennor was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed more than 30 years of annual fishing trips to Canada. He also was a skilled woodworker and provided his family and friends with many handcrafted items through the years. He will fondly be remembered by family, friends and neighbors for his gardening efforts and his liberal use of Miracle-Gro. Mr. Mennor was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer. He was married May 23, 1975, to Judith Monroe, who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mennor is survived by six children, Patricia Snyder of Maumelle, Ariz., Roberta Champion and her husband, Mike, of Canton, Ga., Jeanne Xander of Oil City, Mark Mennor and his wife, Yvonne, of Burghill, Ohio, Tim Mennor and his wife, Nena, of Ingleside, Texas, and Tracey Urey and her husband, Dan, of Mercer; and 10 grandchildren, Kelly Forbes of Portland, Ore, Jessica Snyder of Maumelle, Ariz., Katie and Melinda Mennor of Burghill, Ohio, Juanita Mennor of Ingleside, Texas, Samantha Scott and Sidney Urey of Mercer, Kyle and Chloe Champion of Canton, Ga., and Drew Xander of Oil City. Also surviving are two brothers, George Mennor of Colonia, N.J., and Alvin Mennor and his wife, Doll, of Fenelton; one sister, Mary Bandura and her husband, Tom, of Butler; a brother-in-law, Homer Boltz of East Brady; a sister-in-law, Eileen Mennor of Chicora; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Buzz and Linda Monroe of Polk; a mother-in-law, Loma Gilliland of Polk; his former wife, Delores Wise Radaker of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose, 94, a resident of Memorial Oaks Guest House, Houston, Texas, formerly of Franklin, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004. Born April 6, 1910, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Charles and Linnie Slater Hays. Mrs. Rose was a 1928 graduate of Franklin High School, attended Beaver College in Jenkintown, and was a 1932 University of Pittsburgh graduate. She was a member of the famous 1927 Franklin High School girls basketball team that won district honors and went to the national championships in Wichita, Kan. Her husband, the late Donald T. Rose, retired after spending 41 years with Atlantic Refining Company, during which time they lived in Franklin, Port Arthur, Texas, and the Philadelphia area. After retirement, the couple sold their home and spent more than 20 years traveling via trailer or motor home, having visited 49 of the 50 U.S. states many times. They missed only North Dakota. In later years, they lived in a park model unit at the Holiday Travel Resort in Leesburg, Fla., which had been their winter home for many years. Mrs. Rose was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Upper Darby. She was married July 19, 1935, in Meadville to Donald T. Rose. She is survived by two daughters, Marianne R. Heid and her husband, Ray, of Natrona Heights, and Linda McDonald and her husband, John, of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Betty Smeal, of Franklin. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Roy A. Heid, Dr. Christy A. Heid, Susan Sorensen and Scott McDonald; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, who died in 2001, Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by a 10-year-old brother, Ralph Hays, in 1914. There was no visitation, and services were private. Heasley, 71, of 235 Buffalo St., Franklin, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at her residence. Born July 30, 1933, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Blaine and Mary Sickles Griffin. Up until the time of her death, Mrs. Heasley worked as a print room clerk at Joy Manufacturing for more than 45 years. Mrs. Heasley was a member of Franklin Moose Auxiliary No. 83 and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 476. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, animals and helping less fortunate people. Mrs. Heasley was married Sept. 9, 1956, to Glenn R. Heasley, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Terry L. Heasley of York and Mary Elaine Ray and husband, Joseph, of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Debra Sue Reagle and husband, William, of Polk; and three grandchildren, Jason L. Heasley of York, Heidi Matchett and husband, Jason, of Sterling, Va., and William Reagle Jr. of Yellow Springs, Ohio. She also is survived by two brothers, Louis D. McGuinness, 70, of 610 Elk St., Franklin, died at 5:04 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, in his home following an illness. Born Nov. 22, 1934, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of John and Bri Small McGuinness. Mr. McGuinness graduated from high school in New York and later from Pace University with a degree in business. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. McGuinness first was employed with Otis Elevator Co. installing elevators in different buildings throughout New York City. He then worked at Chase Bank in New York City and retired from there as vice president. After retiring from Chase, he worked for Equitable and Met Life in New York and also retired from there. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. McGuinness enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles, classical music and especially his grandchildren. He was married Jan. 16, 1960, to the former Aloyse O'Heir, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Edward C. and Geraldine McGuinness of Utica and Paul A. and Barbara McGuinness of Franklin; two daughters, Regan A. McGuinness of Wingdale, N.Y., and Seana A. McGuinness of Moon Township; and six grandchildren, Edward, Kathleen and Sarah McGuinness of Utica and Sean, Ryan and Megan McGuinness of Franklin. He also is survived by a brother, Michael McGuinness and wife, Mary, of Scranton. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGuinness was preceded in death by a son, Owen F. Kahle, Hernando, Fla., Seneca native William E. Knight, Polk Center Amanda C. "Mandee" Stahlman McGinnis, Port Allegany, formerly of Emlenton Betty Amsdell Richardson, 7 Vo-Tech Drive, Oil City Richard Anderson Baker Sr. Richard Anderson Baker Sr. of Centerville, Ohio, died Sunday evening, Dec. 19, 2004, at his home of his illness. He grew up in New York City where he took the local train to Yankee Stadium and became a lifelong follower of the Yankees. He later moved to Ohio. At age 18, Mr. Baker began a 35-year career with General Motors in the brake division where he acted as a test vehicle driver, giving him a keen sense of mechanical systems. This led him to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while working full time and raising a family. After retirement from General Motors, he obtained his second degree in mental health and chemical dependency and worked in this field for several years and in various programs around the Miami Valley. He retired as a counselor from the Veterans Administration. Mr. Baker became a fast and loyal friend of Alcoholics Anonymous which added to his sense of warmth and empathy for his fellow men. During the last few years of his life, he suffered three strokes and several bouts of esophageal cancer. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Shirley Baker of Centerville, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Theola Galbraith of Knox; his children, Ray and Sherry Baker of South Riding, Va., David and Kathy Courson of Miamisburg, Ohio, Carl and Marcie Courson of Holly, Texas, Rich and Valerie Baker of Tipp City, Ohio, Brian and Sharlynn Naylon of Westford, Mass., and Derek Courson of Centerville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Tobias Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio. Interment will be in St. Paul Union Cemetery, Knox RD. "Mike" Callander, 39, of Perry Township, Parker, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in United Community Hospital, Grove City, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 16, 1965, in Butler, he was the son of Larry R. and Charlotte E. Jordan Callander, who survive in Perry Township. He was a 1983 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg, where he was a member of the football and track teams. He then graduated from the Ohio Diesel Technical School in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Callander first was employed as a mechanic for Ralph Dittman Trucking Co. of Bruin. He later became a diesel technician with Hunter's Truck Sales in Eau Claire. Over the 16 years with Hunter's, he also served as shop foreman at its Clearfield operation and then returned to the Eau Claire operation as assistant shop foreman. In his early years, he was a member of the former Dutch Hill Church of God in Perry Township. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Parker, where he had served as a trustee and was a member of the choir. He also played softball for the Park Hill Church of God Team at West Freedom. Mr. Callander was a member of Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge, F&AM No. 521 of Parker and the New Castle Consistory. From his youth he loved to go camping with his grandparents and parents, and that hobby continued with his own family until ill health no longer permitted this tradition. He also was an avid trapper and hunter and enjoyed owning and riding horses. Mr. Callander was a former member of the Pine Hollow Rod & Gun Club in Perry Township. He was married Dec. 10, 1994, to Kimberly D. O'Neil, who survives, along with his parents and two daughters, Kylene D. "Kylee" Callander and Michaela B. Callander, both at home. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Rothen and husband, Eric, of Emlenton; a brother, Mark Todd Callander and wife, Angie, of Greenville; maternal grandmother, Ione Jordan of Perry Township; paternal grandparents, Ronel and Ellen Callander of Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo; his mother-in-law, Harriet O'Neil of Parker; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Born Jan. 25, 1918, in Cooksburg, he was the son of George and Orpha Winters Fulmer. Mr. Fulmer retired in 1982 from TRW in Jamestown, N.Y. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Mr. Fulmer was married Aug. 15, 1942, to the former Lenoir McCool, who died June 17, 2001. Surviving are two sons, Edward C. Fulmer of Vowinckel and Donald Fulmer and wife, Stella, of Marienville; a daughter, Forest S. Surrena and husband, Sherril, of Jamestown, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Guyda, 87, of 1293 Grandview Road, formerly of 589 N. Seneca St., Oil City, died at 5:12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Oil City, he was the son of Samuel and Victoria Ochalek Guyda. Mr. Guyda attended Assumption and Oil City schools, Welch's Business College and Duquesne University and graduated from Washington College of America, School of Law, receiving his bachelor's of law degree. He was a life member of Sigma Nu Phi Legal fraternity, Holmes Chapter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, completing basic training in Fort Bragg, N.C., with Battery D, 11th Infantry Battalion, 4th Regiment. He served in the American Theater for more than four years. He received the American Theater of War and Defense Medals and a Bronze Star. Mr. Guyda served with the Veterans Administration for more than 27 years as a law clerk. He was a life member of the National Association of Retired Government Employees and was a retired member of the American Federation of Government Employees. He was a member of Assumption BVM Church. Mr. Guyda was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 284 and All-American No. 15011 in Washington, D.C.; a life member of James M. Henderson Post 32, Oil City American Legion; and a life member of the American Rifle Association. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Guyda was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Thaddeus, Stanley, Joseph, John, Walter and Anthony Guyda and an infant; and one sister, Mary Watras. He was a graduate of Cranberry High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. Mr. Kahle owned and operated Erie Industrial Scale Co. until retiring in 1995. Born Aug. 26, 1914, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of James M. and Lizzie Switzer Cowan. Mrs. McGinnis spent her early years in Rimersburg and was a 1932 graduate of Union High School, Rimersburg. She also graduated from Mason Felix Beauty School, Pittsburgh, and opened her own beauty salon in 1937 in Emlenton. She was licensed as a beautician for more than 50 years. Mrs. McGinnis was a graduate of the Liberty Bible Institute in Lynchburg, Va. Her interest was in Biblical travel and points of interest. She had visited the Holy Land, Greece, Cairo, Beriut, Cyprus, Venice, Rome, London and the Greek Isles. She served with a summer missionary team with the Central Alaskan Missions at Glenallen, Alaska, and also served with a summer missionary team with the Hawaiian Island Missions on the island of Maui. Mrs. McGinnis was a member of Emlenton Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, Bible school teacher, secretary and church treasurer. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Lady Emlen Rebekah Lodge, Women's Benefit Association and past grands of Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Emlenton Over 55 Club. Mrs. McGinnis was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She first was married Oct. 28, 1933, to J. Reid Stahlman, who died Sept. 23, 1980. She then was married Dec. 5, 1986, to Vance L. McGinnis, who died in June 1999. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Leland and Margaret Stahlman of Port Allegany and Robert and Charlotte Stahlman of Wellsville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Dale D. Young of Oberlin, Kan. Betty Amsdell Richarson Betty Amsdell Richardson, 82, of 7 Vo-Tech Drive, Apt. 2A, Oil City, died at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca, following emergency surgery. Born April 22, 1922, in Sugarcreek Township, she was the daughter of Bernice Amsdell Cauvel. Mrs. Richardson retired from Venango County as director of the personal property tax office after 22 years of employment. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oil City and the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards, especially bridge. She married Donald T. Richardson Sr., who survives. They celebrated 62 years of marriage Sept. 14, 2004. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Karen Sue Myers and husband, Steve, of Allentown; a son, Donald T. She was born Nov. 4, 1909, in the country of Latvia, where she graduated in 1932 as a dentist from the University of Latvia. Dr. Lambert was employed at the Latvian Railway Employees Dispensary and the Red Cross Children's Nursing Home in Krustpils, Latvia. She left Latvia in 1939 when the Russians took over and fled to Germany by boat with her mother and brother. She spent the war years in Germany. In 1947, Dr. Lambert graduated with a doctorate of oral surgery from Eberhard University in Tuebingen. Following graduation, she and her mother moved to Minnesota where she graduated from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lambert was a U.S. Army veteran and in 1948, she was employed at the 11th Field Hospital as a dentist for the Army. In 1964, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a doctorate of oral surgery and then moved to Rimersburg where she began her own practice at the Rimersburg Medical Center. She practiced until retiring in the 1990s. Dr. Lambert attended the Rimersburg United Church of Christ. She has no surviving family, having been preceded in death by her parents and one brother. John C. Schuster John C. Schuster, 61, of Parker, died at 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness. Born Aug. 11, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frederick and Myrtle Hallewell Schuster. He entered the U.S. Army on March 10, 1965, and was honorably discharged March 2, 1967, with the rank of specialist fourth class. He served 18 months in Okinawa during the Vietnam era. Following his discharge from the military, he was a petroleum truck driver with the Pennsylvania Refining Co. (now Penreco) at Karns City from 1967 to June 2001. He was a member of American Legion Post 598 of Parker for 38 years and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 926. He was of the Protestant faith. He and his family enjoyed traveling in general and especially enjoyed attending Indy car races and visiting the track pits. While the Indianapolis track was the family favorite, they frequently attended races at Homestead, Fla.; Brooklyn, Mich.; Nazareth; Lexington, Ohio; Richmond, Va.; and the Poconos. They also enjoyed sprint car racing at Mercer and Eldora, Ohio. In addition to harassing all the neighborhood children in good fun, he especially enjoyed fueling arguments between his daughter and a special nephew, Eric. He was married June 21, 1968, to Dixie Preston Schuster, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann of Parker and her fiance, Terry MacKrell of Chicora, of whom Mr. Schuster was most proud to have as a future son-in-law; and a sister, Mildred (Midge) Schuster of Hooker. Survivors also include his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Jean Preston of Foxburg; and five nieces and nephews in addition to a special nephew, Eric Kriebel. John N. Budzinski John N. Budzinski, 81, of 12409 Main St., Hydetown, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, Dec. 16, 2004, at his residence. Born Dec. 1, 1923, in Nisko, Poland, he was the son of Casimira and Angela Kohn Budzinski. He was a 1939 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Oil City. Mr. Budzinski was a veteran of World War II, having been inducted into the U.S. Army Feb. 25, 1943, in New Cumberland. He was assigned to Headquarters Co., 188th Parachute Infantry. He served as a scout, obtaining information concerning strength, disposition and probable intentions of enemy forces, route conditions locations for bivouac, information by radio, read maps, made sketches and used compass and field glasses. He was stationed in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Bronze Star Medal and Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He was discharged Nov. 26, 1945, from Ingomar Separation Center with the rank of private first class. Mr. Budzinski formerly was employed at Struthers-Wells Corp. in Titusville until its closing. He then worked for 18 years at General Electric in Erie until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, he could be found at Church Run Orchard, Titusville. He was a member of St. Walburga Church, Polish National Alliance Group No. 2031, Oil Creek Beagle Cub and the National Rifle Association. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Russell Chatley Klinger Russell Chatley Klinger, 83, of Hershey, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, in the Health Care Center of the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Mr. Klinger served aboard the USS Arctic in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator during World War II in the South Pacific. After the war, he completed his bachelor of science in business and master of education at Westminster College in New Wilmington. Mr. Klinger was a high school business teacher the majority of his professional career. He retired in 1986 after 26 years of service to the young men and women of the Milton Hershey School. While there, he supervised the school bank, assisted with the yearbook and was the Glee Club Explorer adviser. An avid musician, he played the clarinet, piano, organ and accordion aboard ship, in local bands and for his church. He also enjoyed nature walks, cruises, family vacations and meeting people. Mr. Klinger was active in his community. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania for more than 50 years, was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Hershey Lions Club. He also was a former president of Delta Sigma Pi professional fraternity for men and women pursuing business careers. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a home teacher, branch president, high priest group leader, ward mission leader, teacher and pianist in local congregations and a full-time missionary with his wife, Jane, in the Bronx, N.Y. Mr. Klinger was married for 57 years to Jane Yingling Beer Klinger, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sherryl J. Bailey of Hershey and Rebecca A. Tatangelo of Tampa, Fla.; one son, Dr. William R. Klinger of Middletown; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Dwayne Klinger. Born Nov. 25, 1906, in Lucinda, she was the daughter of Jacob A. and Emma C. Huefner Staab. She attended St. Joseph School in Lucinda and graduated from the first two-year commercial class of 1923. Miss Staub worked for five years for Pennsylvania Electric Co. in Clarion and then was employed for 45 years in the business office at Clarion State College, now Clarion University. She served as a clerk, bookkeeper, accountant assistant and administrative officer, and upon her retirement in 1974 she had set a record for the length of her services to the college. She was an oblate of Mount Saint Benedict Monastery, Erie. Miss Staub was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. She was a life member of the Catholic Daughters of America and received her 50-year membership pin in 1977. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Holliday, 82, of Dutch Hill near Parker, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born May 6, 1922, in Perry Township, Clarion County, he was the son of Jay and Nellie Wyant Holliday. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, serving from Dec. 3, 1942, to Dec. 12, 1945. He was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Holliday began a career of more than 45 years with the former Pennsylvania Railroad with the section crew at West Monterey. With changes in the care of railroad maintenance, he traveled over much of western Pennsylvania and retired in 1983 as a section foreman with Conrail. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way for more than 40 years. Mr. Holliday was a life member of VFW Post 7073 and was a member of the American Legion Post 598, both of Parker. In earlier years, Mr. Holliday was known in the local area for helping repair automobiles for friends and relatives and enjoyed rebuilding auto engines for his personal use. While his health permitted, Mr. Holliday enjoyed hunting, collecting model trains and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Holliday was married March 21, 1946, to Betty Pennington, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Patricia King of Cleveland, Tenn., Mrs. Rich (Vickie) Weigle of Parker and Kay Peden of Lyman, Wyo.; four sons, Archie L. Born Nov. 10, 1920, in Seminole, he was the son of Peter and Julie Siani Veronesi. Mr. Veronesi was a 1938 graduate of New Bethlehem High School. He served in the U.S. Army where he held the rank of tech. 5. Mr. Veronesi was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Bethlehem. Mr. Veronesi was a former Alcola Park Board member, served as a former Redbank Valley School Board member for 15 years and was a former member of the New Bethlehem VFW. He enjoyed cooking and loved to read and spend time with his family a nd friends. Mr. Veronesi was married July 7, 1950, to Mildred Lucille Logsdon, who died Sept. 7, 1979. Surviving are two sons, George T .Veronesi Jr. and wife, Susan, of Seminole and Larry Thornhill and wife, Sandra, of Brandon, Fla.; a daughter, Debra Boozer and husband, Jeff, of New Bethlehem RD 1; nine grandchildren, Larry and Butch Thornhill, Kree Morales, Beth Reicard, Tony, Dan and Lauren Veronesi, and Heidi and Scott Boozer; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Crystal Morales, Karissa Reicard and Tierney Thornhill. He also is survived by one sister, Emma Spanedda of New Jersey; four brothers, Edward "Eddie" Veronesi, Milton Veronesi and Aldo Veronesi, all of Seminole, and Frank Veronesi of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Veronesi was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Guido and Gino Veronesi; and two sisters, Edith Radaker and Jennie Veronesi. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bish Memorial Funeral Home, 206 South St., New Bethlehem. A wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Charles Catholic Church, New Bethlehem, with the Rev. William Laska, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in New Bethlehem. Reed, Limestone Helen Margaret McGreevy Sayrs, Milford, Ohio, formerly of Oil City Arnold H. Beabout Arnold H. Beabout, 79, of East Brady, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township. Born June 30, 1925, in East Brady, he was the son of John A. and Maude L. Reighard Beabout. Mr. Beabout was a graduate of East Brady High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Battery C, 266th Field Artillery Battalion in the U.S. Army. He campaigned at Normandy on D-Day as part of the second wave at Omaha Beach. He also fought in Northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes, including the Battle of the Bulge, and Central Europe. Mr. Beabout was the recipient of the European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. On Feb. 27, 1999, he received the Normandy Medal of Jubilee of Liberty from U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum at the 911th Airlift Wing Air Reserve Station in Pittsburgh. He was an active member of the East Brady community and was voted "East Brady Citizen of the Year" in 2001. After World War II, Mr. Beabout worked for two years as a mechanic at the Gulf Service Station in East Brady. He then worked as chief of police in East Brady for 16 years. He then owned and operated the East Brady Gulf Service Station for 18 years after his service as police chief. Mr. Beabout currently was an East Brady councilman and had served as president for many years. He served on council for more than 30 consecutive years. He loved his family, the country, hunting, walking and Bible study. Mr. Beabout was a member of Queenstown Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the board, trustee and finance. He also was a member of Jones/Connor American Legion Post 402 of East Brady, where he was the current commander. He led the Legion effort to construct the Veterans Memorial Park in East Brady. It was dedicated Aug. 13, 1994. Mr. Beabout was a member of the board of directors of the Bradys Bend Cemetery for more than 20 years. He currently was the president and oversaw the building of the cemetery chapel. He also was a member of the East Brady Revitalization Committee and served for 12 years as vice president and secretary. He was a former member of the East Brady Area Ambulance Service where he volunteered as an EMT and driver for 12 years. He also helped in the formation of the service member-board of directors of the Bradys Bend Cemetery for more than 20 years. Mr. Beabout was married Jan. 11, 1946, to Shirley E. Bowser, who died Jan. 17, 1986. Surviving are one son, Lonnie D. Beabout of Roseville; a daughter, Mrs. J. Duane (Lana) Harriger of Sligo; two granddaughters, Lisa Pelly of San Antonio, Texas, and Paul M. Scholl of Dothan, Ala.; one great-grandson, Aaron K. Scholl of Dothan; two stepgrandchildren, Michael Harriger of Sligo and Leeanne Whitaker of Baltimore, Md.; and two step-great-grandchildren, Allison Harriger of Sligo and Justin Whitaker of Baltimore. He also is survived by one brother, William Beabout of East Brady; four sisters, Emma Peters, Mrs. Harry (Beverly) Crawford and Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Reichart, all of East Brady, and Virginia Beabout of Sligo; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Beabout was preceded in death by 12 brothers and three sisters. Burnice Louise Smith Caylor Burnice Louise Smith Caylor, 79, of West Hickory, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in the Titusville Area Hospital. Born March 5, 1925, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of William G. and Bernice Raybuck Smith. Mrs. Calyor was postmaster for many years at the West Hickory Post Office until her retirement. She was a member of the West Hickory United Methodist Church. Mrs. Caylor was married to Arnold E. Caylor, who died in September 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra L. Hancock and husband, Kenneth L,. of Crystal River, Fla., and Nancy J. Naser and husband, David A., of West Hickory, with whom she resided; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one brother, William A. Smith and wife, Alma, of Lower Burrell; one sister, Jean Klabnik and husband, Joseph, of Henry's Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Connie E. Derrit Connie E. Derrit, 55, of 5621 Schustrich Road, Mantua, Ohio, a native of Rimersburg, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004. Born May 2, 1949, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of Paul L. and Margaret Ramsey Courson. Mrs. Derrit was employed at Zircoa Inc. in Solon, Ohio, She attended The Chapel of Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Derrit was married Sept. 26, 1992, to Robert M. Derrit, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Margaret Courson of Rimersburg; a daughter, Vicki Morris and husband, John, of Newton Falls, Ohio; a son, Roy Himes Jr. and his fiancee, Amanda Ludban, of Diamond, Ohio; a grandson, Zachary Morris; and a stepson and wife, Robert O. and Donna Derrit of Streetsboro, Ohio. Doyle, 88, of Leeper, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, in Beverly Health Care-Shippenville. Born Sept. 7, 1916, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Edward and Catherine Kustes Doyle. Mr. Doyle served in the Marines during World War II. He was married for 67 years to Elizabeth "Mirt" Reed, who survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, Gary and Kathy Doyle of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Janet Freese and husband, David, of West Chester; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, William Doyle and wife, Shirley, of Bethel Park; a sister, June Gries of Library; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Everly, 75, of Woodrich, formerly of Oil City, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, in the home of her daughter in Loyalsock. Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Claire and Jennie Kelso Master. Mrs. Everly received her registered nurse degree from Bradford School of Nursing and worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Lock Haven Hospital. She attended the First Church of Christ in Flemington. Mrs. Everly was a pilot in her younger years, was an avid history and political buff, and loved gardening and feeding the small animals in her backyard. She especially enjoyed spending family time with her daughters and grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Mellanie and John Boone of Mill Hall, Stephanie and Mark Sweeley of Loyalsock and Candy and David Gore of San Gabriel, Calif.; and three grandchildren, J.P. Sweeley and Nathan and Daniel Gore. She also is survived by two sisters, Flo Turk and Pat Whaley, both of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Everly was preceded in death by a sister, Aledra. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Church of Christ, High Street, Flemington, with the Rev. Ron Savits officiating. Handlow, 93, of French Creek Township, Venango County, died at 10:53 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at her home. Born Feb. 18, 1911, in Kennedy Township, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of Ulrich A. Hufnagel and Lorena Bell Bradley. Mrs. Handlow's formal education ended at eighth grade. She was an outstanding basketball player, receiving three engraved gold basketballs and a full scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh for basketball; however, her father would not let her attend the university. She earned her GED diploma and her LPN degree, scoring the highest on both in the Pittsburgh area. Mrs. Handlow was a "Rosie the Riviter" during World War II when women went to work in the factories for the war effort. She loved her family, her farm, her flowers and her garden. Mrs. Handlow was married Nov. 26, 1929, to Stephen J. Handlow, who died Jan. 8, 1997. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Robert U. and Mary Ann Handlow and Nickolas and Patricia Handlow, all of the Pittsburgh area; and a daughter, Kathryn H. YaSenka of Franklin. She also is survived by her oldest sister, Emma Kavalukas, 96, and her sister, Gertrude Yanke, 79, both of the Pittsburgh area. Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Allegheny County. Mary Helen Kennemuth Mary Helen Kennemuth, 96, died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home where she had been a resident since March 27, 2000. She previously lived for many years on Oil Valley Road in Duke Center before moving to this area to live near her son, Jack. Born Oct. 3, 1908, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of Charles M.W. and Margaret Harrold Bishop. Mrs. Kennemuth worked for many years as a switchboard operator for the Otto Telephone Co. in Duke Center, retiring in the early 1970s. She was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Kennemuth had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Indoor and outdoor plants thrived under her care. She also enjoyed crocheting. She was married in 1931 to William F. Kennemuth, who died in 1958. Surviving are two sons, Jack Kennemuth and wife, Berta, of Seneca, and Richard Kennemuth of Duke Center; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren ; and one brother, Calvin Bishop of Punxsutawney. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kennemuth was preceded in death by three sons, Kay, Wayne and Gerald Kennemuth; one grandson, Steven Kennemuth; three sisters; and four brothers. She was a charter member of the Limestone Cemetery Association. Mrs. Reed was married Jan. 14, 1949, to Hilton "Bud" Reed, who survives. Born Sept. 28, 1911, in Oil City, she was the daughter of John Joseph and Louise Organ McGreevy. Mrs. Sayrs was a homemaker. She was married to William Allen "Bill" Sayrs, who preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Helen Hurley and husband, Tom, of Milford, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Colin Hurley and wife, Heather, and Lauren Hurley, all of the Milford area.
