The Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home, 203 West Main St., Sheffield, is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Monday in The Derrick. Walter H. Hepfl Sr. Walter H. Hepfl Sr., 76, of Maxwell Road, Clarion, Highland Township, died unexpectedly at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at his residence. Born June 13, 1928, in Highland Township, he was the son of George and Martha Swartzfager Hepfl. Mr. Hepfl was married June 7, 1949, to the former Marion Wolbert, who died June 27, 1993. He was in the lumber business with Hepfl Lumber. Mr. Hepfl was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. He enjoyed gardening, working and spending time with his grandchildren and horses. Mr. Hepfl is survived by a son, Walter H. "Tank" Hepfl Jr. of Clarion; a daughter, Jenny Hockman and her husband, Don, of Clarion; three grandchildren, Katie, his beloved granddaughter who he helped raise, and Jerry and Seth; He is also survived by five sisters, Gerry Griebel and her husband, Robert, of Clarion, Rita and her husband, Joseph Reed, of Clarion, Betty and her husband, Ed Wolbert, of Snydersburg, Mary and her husband, Ronald Nick, of Fryburg, and Monica Reed of Clarion; a brother, Donald Hepfl and his wife, Dolly, of Fryburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Joseph Hepfl; a sister, Pauline Stiglitz; two infant sisters, Helen and Georgie; and two infant brothers, Jimmy and Tommy. Aleda Ann Ranf Mills Aleda Ann Ranf Mills, 79, of Wadsworth, Ohio, formerly of Oil City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005. Born May 16, 1925, in Windy City, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Laurinda Carlson Ranf. Mrs. Mills resided in Oil City from 1947 until two years ago when she relocated to Wadsworth. She had worked as a secretary for Cranberry High School. Mrs. Mills was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. Along with her husband, she delivered Meals on Wheels and was treasurer for a number of years. She was married for 47 years to James L. Mills, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Mills is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Mills Giaccai and her husband, Jerry, of Canton, Mass., and Renita Mills Bridge and her fiance, Jim Kinsella, of Partlow, Va.; two sons, Paul E. Canon Reginald E. Moore The Rev. Canon Reginald E. Moore, 84, of Girard, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at his residence. Born June 30, 1920, in Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada, he was a son of the late Ernest C. and Mary E. Ferguson Moore. He received his bachelor of arts degree in 1947 from the University of Toronto and went on to receive his E.C.M. that same year at Trinity College. He later attended General Theological Seminary at Columbia University. In 1948, he was ordained an Episcopal priest in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, and he served in parishes in the diocese of New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. The Rev. Moore was rector of St. Paul in Ossining, N.Y., from 1948-1954; rector of St. Mark in Yonkers, N.Y., from 1954-1958; and rector of St. John in Franklin from 1958-1974. He went on to serve as vicar of St. Mark in Erie from 1974-1980 and vicar of St. Augustine in Edinboro and St. Peter in Waterford from 1980-1982. In 1979, he was appointed canon missionary for the Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania.
