Born Nov. 27, 1927, in Miola, she was the daughter of Walter and Lucille McCleary Maxwell. She was a graduate of Miola School and attended Clarion State Teachers College. Mrs. Callihan worked for a number of years for the Clarion Chamber of Commerce and helped plan many Autumn Leaf Festivals. She was a former chairman of the festivals. She also worked from 1962 to 1967 at the Clarion News and then worked in the Clarion office of Venango Newspapers and The Derrick from 1967 until her retirement. Mrs. Callihan was the original writer of the Clarion Chit-Chat. She was very active in the Clarion County Democratic Party. Mrs. Callihan was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Leeper. She enjoyed reading until recent years, flower gardening and spending time with her many friends. Her greatest joy was having her children and grandchildren around her. Mrs. Callihan was married May 1, 1948, to Eugene Callihan, who died Dec. 31, 2000. Cessna Jr., 47, of Knox, died of natural causes at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at his residence. Born Sept. 24, 1957, in Oil City, he was the son of David D. "Curly" Cessna of Knox RD 1 and the late Barbara Peterson Cessna. Mr. Cessna was a chef, having graduated from the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute. He also had owned and operated Cessna's Unique Clothing stores in the Clarion Mall and the Cranberry Mall in Seneca. While in high school, Mr. Cessna worked at Crook's Clothing in Clarion. He enjoyed camping, cooking, antiques and spending time with his daughters and family. Surviving, in addition to his father, are two daughters, Danielle Cessna and Ashley Cessna, both of Pittsburgh; his former wife, Desiree Rhoades of Emlenton; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Peterson of Seneca; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Himes, 81, of Tampa, Fla., a Clarion County native, died Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005, in Tampa. Born in Licking Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Samuel J. and Ollie McCall Heeter. Mrs. Himes moved to Tampa in 1997 after the death of her husband, the Rev. Thomas M. Himes. He died Dec. 13, 1996. The couple lived in Rossiter near Punxsutawney. Mrs. Himes served more than 33 years alongside her husband's ministry at Barton Chapel United Methodist Church in Sprankle Mills, Cloe United Methodist Church, Steffy Chapel United Methodist Church in Rossiter, Covode United Methodist Church and several other United Methodist churches in western Pennsylvania. She was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Tampa, Fla., and was known as an excellent example of a wife, mother, friends and Christian. Mrs. Himes was married Jan. 21, 1942, to the Rev. Thomas M. Himes. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Dianne Himes, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Evelyn Stewart of North Carolina as well as several local nieces and nephews. She was educated in McGinnis School and at St. Michael, Fryburg, and had attended Welch's Business College, Oil City. Miss Karg started to work in the 1930s at Fryburg Motors and from there went to the Oil City Milling Co. to work as a clerk. In 1945, she started work at Continental Can Co. and retired from there in 1971 as an accounts payable clerk. She was a member of St. Stephen Church and the Rosary-Altar Society of the church. Miss Karg belonged to the YWCA, Pennsylvania State Grange and the Oil City Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a volunteer for Oil City Meals on Wheels and the Oil City Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are one sister, Helen Perrett of Oil City; and seven nieces and nephews, Mark Banner of Oil City, Mike and Cathy Perrett of Rouseville, Lisa and Bill Aaron of Marble, Rita and Tom Scottino of Glenellyn, Ill., Julie and Tom Passarelli of Vandergrift, Barb and Bob Portenier of Waterford and Ray and Karen Weaver of Marble. She was employed by Pennzoil Co. as a secretary for Charles L. Suhr until his retirement and then for his son, Henry B. Suhr, and lastly for his grandson, Henry B. Suhr Jr., retiring in 1978. Mrs. Gesin was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church, had taught Sunday School and served for 25 years as benevolent treasurer. She was active in the United Methodist Women of Trinity Church and also the Franklin District of the Western Pennsylvania Conference. She was a member of the Oil City YWCA, Belles Lettres Club and Zonta Club of Oil City-Franklin. On Sept. 25, 1948, she married Miller C. Gesin, who preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1995. Mrs. Gesin was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Wilson and Irma Brown, and a brother, James D. Spruce St., Titusville, died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, in Titusville Area Hospital. Born May 19, 1933, in Franklin, he was the son of Domer and Frances Beers Ritchey. Mr. Ritchey retired as an aide for Warren State Hospital. Surviving are three children, Ronald A. Ritchey and Marlene Snyder, both of Franklin, and Bonnie Cheers of Utica; eight grandchildren, Ronald A. Ritchey II, Kenneth "Andy" Ritchey, Janell Snyder and Robyn Rice, all of Franklin, Jodi Samatoris and Heidi Cheers, both of Barkeyville, and Madison Hale and Autumn Hale, both of Utica; and one great-grandchild, Ronald E. Overton of Franklin. He also is survived by two brothers and their wives, Lloyd D. and Shirley Ritchey of Franklin and Robert L. and Connie Ritchey of Polk; a sister and husband, Carol Ann and Les Reitz of Dempseytown; a special friend, Mae E. "Betty" Canon of Titusville; his beloved dog, Chiqueta; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ritchey was preceded in death by three brothers, Clair D. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Margaret T. Schwartz Margaret T. Schwartz, 60, of Perkasie, formerly of Sharon Hill, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her home. Born June 14, 1944, in Darby, she was one of nine children born to the late Paul J. and Marie Harrison Murter and was raised in Sharon Hill. She was a 1962 graduate of Archbishop Pendergrast School. After her marriage to Harko W. Schwartz in Holy Spirit Church, Sharon Hill, the couple moved to the Philippines where her husband served in the military. After their return to the United States, the couple moved to the Lansdale and Bucks County area until they settled in their current home in Perkasie. Mrs. Schwartz and her husband were self-employed and worked from home. He survives. She was a collector, especially of Beanie Babies and patriotic memorabilia. Mrs. Schwartz was a devoted family woman and loved gardening, skiing and her pets. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Christine Kennedy of Folcroft and Diana Christopher of Prospect Park; four brothers, Paul J. Murter Jr. of Lansdowne, Charles J. Murter of Norwood, Clark R. Murter of Sharon Hill and Daniel D. Murter of Collingdale; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Schwartz was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Eugene L. Murter and David Murter. Born April 14, 1929, in Franklin, he was the son of Joseph and Rose Caccamo Sciarrone. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 with Co. B, 969th Engineer Construction Battalion. Mr. Sciarrone worked for General Manifold in Franklin and retired in 1985 from Joy Manufacturing, Franklin, where he was an assembler for 18 years. Atts, 84, of Route 62, Oil City, a longtime Oil City area businessman, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005, shortly after his arrival in the emergency room of UPMC Northwest, Seneca. He was born in Franklin Sept. 4, 1920, the son of Earl J. and Edna Weeter Atts. Mr. Atts was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Oil City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 until 1945. Mr. Atts was taken prisoner of war in France while transporting wounded soldiers away from the front battle lines and was placed in various work camps for eight months. He later was liberated from a POW camp in Germany at the conclusion of World War II. Mr. Atts attended Rocky Grove schools. In his early years, he and his father owned and operated the Sunoco Station on East Second Street, Oil City, until the late 1950s. In 1957, he opened Atts Auto Parts & Used Cars. At the time of his death, he and his son, Jim, continued to operate Atts Auto Parts on Riverside Drive. He also was an antique car enthusiast. Mr. Atts was married April 12, 1951, in Oil City, to the former Jean M. Osterman, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Gail M. Kraus and her husband, Nicholas, of McKean; a son, James E. Atts and his wife Loni, of Oil City; five grandchildren, Emily, Joel, and Angela Kraus of McKean and Tiffany and Trisha Atts of Oil City. He also is survived by a sister, Norma Jean Boyer and her husband, Donald, of Sebring, Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Leland and Beulah Atts. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Route 257, Seneca, Cranberry Township. Dominic Belfiore Dominic Belfiore, 88, of Maple Street, Brookville, died Monday, April 11, 2005, in Brookville Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1917, in Conifer, he was the son of Anthony and Teresa Serafini Belfiore. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Western Pacific Campaign, earning one Bronze Star. Mr. Belfiore has worked as a laborer with R.D. Baughman Coal Co. He was a former co-owner of Hilton's Diner in Brookville, was a Brookville Borough police officer for seven years and was a former deputy sheriff in Jefferson County. Mr. Belfiore was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville. He also held membership in the Brookville Lions Club, Brookville Fire Co., Brookville VFW and Brookville Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 983. Mr. Belfiore was one of the first recipients of the "Brookville Man of the Year" Award. He was married in Brookville Oct. 17, 1951, to Grace M. Holibaugh, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Leo A. Belfiore of Ocala, Fla., and Walter J. Belfiore of Brookville; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Belfiore was preceded in death by a son, Merle D. Belfiore; four sisters; and five brothers. John Franklin Flynn John Franklin Flynn, 89, formerly of 52 Pearl Ave., Oil City, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005, in Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, where he had been a resident since Sept. 5, 2001, following an extended illness. Born May 21, 1915, in Meadville, he was the son of John James and Nellie May Rose Flynn. He attended the Oil City schools. Mr. Flynn was a custodian for 29 years for Quaker State Oil Refining Corp. He was an outdoorsman, hiker, scout, biker and historian. Mr. Flynn wore out two bicycles on the Samuel Justus Bike Trail and Oil Creek State Park Trail. He researched, mapped out and visited the 21 known iron furnaces that had existed in Venango County. He took a sample of the slag from each, placed the samples in candy jars and labeled each as to its location and when it was in production. Mr. Flynn also tried to obtain a crude oil sample from each old oil well he could find in Oil Creek State Park and bottled and labeled each one. He was married by the Rev. Sydney Kane in the Franklin Baptist Church Oct. 16, 1944, to the former Phyllis Mae Hartwell, who survives. Also surviving are one son, John Edward Flynn of Oil City; and two granddaughters, Sharon Marie Flynn of Baltimore, Md., and Bridget Ann Flynn Sibley and husband, Erin, of Manhattan Beach, Calif. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Mrs. Keller was the former owner/operator for 12 years of Polly's Dairy Shoppe, home of the famous "Polly Hot Dog Sauce." She was a member of the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Keller also was a member of the Women of the Moose and Eagles Auxiliary, Franklin. She enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, Penguins hockey, fishing, camping and her grandchildren. Mrs. Keller was married Aug. 14, 1941, to Norman Edward Keller, who died Jan. 4, 2005. She and her husband celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Aug. 14, 2003. Mrs. Keller was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Weaver, 79, of Fryburg, died Sunday April 10, 2005, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he had been a patient for a short time. Born Nov. 9, 1925, near Shippenville, he was the son of Austin P. and Mildred Schettler Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a lifelong resident of the Fryburg area. He was a 1943 graduate of Shippenville High School. Mr. Weaver was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served in the 341st Infantry Regiment, 86th Infantry Division "Blackhawk" in France, Germany, Italy and the Philippines. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and American Defense Services Medal. He was a lifelong partner in A.P. Weaver & Sons Coal Co. with his dad and his brothers, William and Russell, until he retired in 1985. Mr. Weaver collected classic Ford cars and was an avid Harley Davidson owner and rider until the time of his death. He also collected knives and bottles and was a NASCAR fan. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Fryburg Sportsmen Club and a charter member of the Fryburg Archery Club. Mr. Weaver was a member St. Michael Church in Fryburg. On Aug 25, 1948, he married Esther Smith, who died Aug. 24, 1999. Surviving are four sons, Jeffery Weaver and wife, Mary, of Tionesta RD, Jody Weaver and wife, Rebecca, of Fryburg, Kelly Weaver and wife, Julie, of Tionesta RD and Earl L. Weaver II of Fryburg; one daughter, Earlene Hetzel and husband, Fred, of Hilton, NY; and seven granddaughters and two grandsons, Sheila Weaver, Brigette Irwin and husband Kert, Tierney Weaver, Laurie Weaver, Lindsie Weaver, Tyler and Brett Weaver and Kayla and Kyndal Hetzel. He also is survived by two brothers, William Weaver and wife, Virginia, of Fryburg and Russ Weaver of Marble; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and a granddaughter, Lisa Elizabeth Weaver, preceded him in death. There will be no viewing or visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael Church, Fryburg, with the Rev. David Poulson, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Fryburg. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Red Cross, The Monsignor Theobald Fund of the church or to the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. She retired in 1975 as a clerk in the Clarion County commissioners office. Mrs. Klingensmith was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing cards. She was a lifetime member of the Sligo United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir. Mrs. Klingensmith was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Clarion Chapter No. 267, the Red Hat Society Royal Rubies of Sligo, the Sligo Card Club, the Clarion County Historical Society and was president of the Sligo Alumni Association. She was married June 6, 1953, to Albert "Ab" Klingensmith Jr. who survives. Also surviving are one brother, Robert A. Johnston, of Summerville; two sisters, Lois M. Fillgrove of Callensburg, and M. Andres, 93, of 976 Halyday Run Road, Oil City, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca following an extended illness. Born Oct. 30, 1911, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Anthony A. and Maria Schiffer Andres. He attended the Assumption BVM grade school and was a 1931 graduate of Oil City Senior High School. He also attended the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Andres studied violin with William Lantz and Major Olmes. He was in several musical groups under the direction of Harland Mitchell, Phil Runzo and Rex Mitchell. Mr. Andres was part owner and operator of Andres Bakery until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the St. Stephen Church choir for many years, the Venango Chorus and the Venango Chamber Orchestra. He was the choir director for many years at St. Stephen and Oakland United Methodist churches. Mr. Andres was a 4th Degree member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Oil City Kiwanis Club and Polish National Alliance. He was the music leader for Kiwanis Club lunch meetings for many years. He was married June 23, 1935, at Assumption BVM by the late Rev. John Mieczkowski to the former Anella "Ann" Bogan of Youngstown, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are two children, Patrick J. Andres and his wife, Katherine, of Seneca, and Marianne Andres of North Carolina; a grandson, Tony Andres of Seneca; a great-granddaughter, Cara Andres of Seneca; two brothers, Henry Andres of Oil City and Sigismund Andres of North Carolina; a family friend, Erwin Lowenstein of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Brown, 67, of 38 Market St., Sandy Lake, died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at the Butler VA Hospital following an extended illness. Born Aug. 8, 1937, in Coraopolis, he was the son of the late George B. and Mary R. Hlista Brown. He was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School. At the time of his death, he was involved with the planning of the 50-year reunion for his class. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended drafting school and had worked for the Mercer County office of PennDOT. He went on to work in the engineering department for PennDOT and retired from the Franklin district office. Mr. Brown also had taught drafting at the Crawford County Vocational Technical School and was employed with Woodring Security Service for several years. Following his retirement, Mr. Brown opened and operated a real estate business with his wife in Sandy Lake. He also subcontracted with Data Comp Appraisal Service and owned and operated Your New Homestead Log Home. Mr. Brown had a passion for all sports and was a former member of the Lakeview Admirals Booster Club. He had served as an umpire for high school baseball and had been a Little League coach. He was also an avid fan of the Lakeview girls basketball program, He was a life member of the Sandy Lake Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company and had served as a past president. He was the captain of the fire police and was a life member of the Mercer County Fire Police Association. Mr. Brown was also actively involved in the community, and he was a member of the Sandy Lake Sesquicentennial Committee. Mr. Brown was a member of Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church, where he had served as an usher. He was a Cub Scout leader for Lakeview Pack 89 and was president of the Zion Cemetery Association. Mr. Brown is remembered by his family for his optimistic attitude and his zest for life. He was married Dec. 26, 1959, to the former Louise Perrine, and she survives. In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by a son, Daniel J. Hamilton, 64, of 376 Old Route 8, Grove City, died at 1:09 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at United Community Hospital, Grove City. Born July 25, 1940, in Mineral Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of Kenneth A. "Dude" and Vesta L. Wolfe McKinley. Mrs. Hamilton attended Slippery Rock High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Barkeyville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, fishing and camping. Mrs. Hamilton was married June 6, 1956, to James S. Hamilton, who survives. She is also survived by four children, Kathleen Sue Postlewaite and her husband, John, of Pemberville, Ohio, Karen Trepasso and her husband, Michael, of Grove City, Mary Kaye Cunningham and her husband, Kevin, of Grove City, and Randy J. Hamilton and his wife, Roshelle, of Harrisville; seven grandchildren, Terry Shaner Jr., Seth Shaner, Daniel and Andy Hamilton, Michael and Amber Trepasso and Ashley Cunningham; and a great-grandson, Logan Shaner. Also surviving are two sisters, Donna Dulaney and her husband, Francis, and Romona Metheny, all of Grove City; and a brother, Delbert McKinley. Irma Ann Hasbrouck Irma Ann Hasbrouck, 66, of 22670 Phillips Drive, Pleasantville, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Titusville Area Hospital. Born Jan. 15, 1939, in Titusville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alwilda Rice Sharp. Mrs. Hasbrouck was a 1956 graduate of Townville High School. She had been self-employed as a tax accountant. Mrs. Hasbrouck was a member of Titusville First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her pets and playing the piano. She was married Nov. 27, 1957, at Parks Corners, N.Y., to Gerald W. Hasbrouck, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hasbrouck is survived by three children, Debra Leigh Williams and her husband, James, of Houston, Texas, Kevin DeWayne Hasbrouck and his girlfriend, Debra Sampson, of Centerville, and Stace Harvey and her husband, Mike, of Pleasantville; and seven grandchildren, Laraine Lee Donovan, Chad Wayne Williams, Clayton James Williams, Miranda Jo Hasbrouck, Cody Allen Hunter, Parker Wayne Harvey and Cole Michael Harvey. Also surviving are two brothers, Roderick "Dick" Sharp and his wife, Ellen, of Trinidad, Texas, and Harry I. "Bud" Sharp, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Marco Island, Fla.; a sister, Margie May Hummer and her husband, Basil, of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Sharp. No public visitation will be observed. Neidich of 728 Wilson Ave., Franklin, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at The Caring Place. Mrs. Neidich was born in Sandycreek Township, the daughter of Leroy Martin and Maude Elnora DeLong Beach. She worked as a binder at General Manifold. She also worked in the cafeteria at Rocky Grove High School. Mrs. Neidich was a member of the Friendship Class, Keenagers Group and United Methodist Missionary Women at Grace United Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scout den leader in Rocky Grove. She was married Sept. 3, 1946, to Harold Z. Neidich, and he survives. Also surviving are a son, Ross Zeigler Neidich and his wife, Patricia, of Bradford; three grandchildren, Lindsay Ann and Katie Jo Neidich, both of Bradford, and Michael Edward and his wife, Jeannie, of Atlanta; and one great-grandchild, Alexandra Edwards of Atlanta. Mrs. Neidich was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chester, Richard, Orville and Russell Beach; and a sister, Lola Sutherland. Rex, 59, of Shippenville, died Friday afternoon, April 8, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare- Shippenville. Born Sept. 29, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Wesley and Helen Kurscis Rex. Mr. Rex was a 1963 graduate of Keystone High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Rex held many jobs with the title of supervisor, most of them with the former Glacial Minerals of Strattanville and most recently with I.A. Construction of Franklin. He also had his own business, Tri-R Tire of Shippenville. Mr. Rex enjoyed NASCAR racing, bowling and doing crossword puzzles. He was married Oct. 5, 1968, in Elizabeth City, N.C., to the former Brenda Sue Minor, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Donella Rex Herring of Point Mugu, Calif., and Tricia Rex Brickey of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; one son, George Wesley Rex of Concord, N.C.; two sisters, Marilyn Barton of Shippenville and Gayle Ganoe of Clarion; a brother, Dale Rex of Vancouver, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Herring of Point Mugu and McKenzie and Tyler Brickey of Sherrills Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert "Dub" Rex. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Robert V.
