Maria E. and Luella Celie married Brewsters and Maud married a Heil. Lawrence (Lon), Alfred Brecht, Clarence E., Curtis Clyde, Warren Ernest, Floyd Edvert, and Jay S. were the sons. Floyd had four sons and a daughter, Russel F., Jack Harry, Merle, Kenneth, and Mable. This Jack, my father's first cousin, is the Jack you knew. After my dad passed in 1981, we visited him several times. He adored his mother and lived with her in Harrison's 1877 homestead until it burned in 1973 from ignition of a shake roof, an event following chimney work that Jack challenged. He was assured that the shorter chimney would be OK. While teaching, he learned that his house was burning. He built the present house on the site of the homestead. Several of the above are buried in the Lickingville cemetery by the old Methodist church that was used for 100 years. It is starting to fall, the tower leans. Some are buried in the Tylersburg cemetery, others in the Summerville cemetery. No relative - a C.F. Smith is listed in the 1912 Farm. Twp. tax record as a teacher with worth of $75. I don't know Frederick Smith. Warren E. Smith III Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Just so it shows corrected in the list archives, the following Subject line should have read "Golden wedding Jesse and Elizabeth Mohney Hepler 1854-1904" and not "Golden wedding Jesse and Elizabeth Mohney 1854-1904" I just made the change on the board for Linda. His father (George R.) and mother Susanna (Susan) Strecker were married in Philadelphia 29 October 1835 in the St. George Methodist Church. They moved to Indiana County where the 1850 census lists seven children. Their Samuel is 13 in June 1850. Henry is listed as 11, but he was not quite 10. Who gave the info to the taker? or subtracted incorrectly given June and September? or "he will be 11 in two months" A third brother, Adam is 2. The three met for a photo in Patton, PA for some event, perhaps 1900. Samuel was thought to be a laborer without a base, had a broken nose, and wore poor threads. They seem to have disappeared. Do you know anything about a Fredrick Smith who also on the map? I have the Clarion County Atlas, so I have the map you are speaking of. Are you any relation to Jack Smith? He lived on what I would gather was your family's homestead that adjoins the propery of North Clarion School along Route 36. I remember him. Sometime when you have a chance, I would like to know what names go with your Smith family so I can remove them from my Smiths. There have been others working on the Smiths in the Tylersburg and Leeper area, and their notes have yours and my families interwoven. With you being a good source of info, we can share these clarifications with those who need the info. This is quite fun!
