    1. [PACLARIO] Seek Clara Hamler, b. bet. 1880-1890, Sussex Co, NJ; moved to PA...
    2. I am seeking my father's half-sibling, Clara Hamler (maiden name) who, after her mother died between 1895 - 1900, was sent to "live with relatives in Pennsylvania." (My Dad was the last to be born to the second wife, so Dad had only the vaguest remembrances of family issues; he did write down for me anything that he could remember before he died in 1972.) His half-sister Clara was born between 1880 and 1890. Clara and my father's father was Cornelius Hamler (1850 NJ - 1913NJ). Clara's mother was my Grandfather's first wife: Anna/Hannah (Morgan) Hamler. There is a Hamler line in Pennsylvania whose head, I suspect, is my GGrandfather Hamler's brother: Abraham Hamler. Abraham was born in NJ in 1791 but when he married Elizabeth Riferenberick/Rightenberry, they moved to set up housekeeping in Clarion Co., and Limestone Co., PA. Abraham died when he was in his forties then Elizabeth married a man whose surname was "Miller." There are some sticky wickets from here but here they are: 1.) I don’t know for sure if Clara (and possible other siblings) went to live with Cornelius’ side of the family or Hannah/Anna’s side of the family. Anna’s parents were both born in NJ and married in Somerset Co., NJ and Anna was born in NJ. Cornelius was also born in NJ. But his older sister – Gehila/Jehila Anderson (married name) went to live in Pennsylvania with her second husband. Gehila would have been 70 years old in 1900; Cornelius' older brother (James) Edward Hamler also moved to PA. 2.) The Hamler line which begins with Abraham Hamler in Pennsylvania could be my GGrandfather’s brother. My GGrandfather was William H. Hamler (1807 – 1854, NJ). I know a lot about Abraham Hamler’s side of the family and there is a “Clara Hamler” in this line, though I am not sure if the family just took her in, calling her a “daughter” which would not make the Census records of any help… Sometimes, they do list "half-brothers, step-sisters, etc. In the Census there is a horrible (handwriting-wise) woman whose first name begins with "C" whose last name is Hamler and she is listed as a non-family member, like a step-sister, etc. I don't have her date of birth. Would appreciate any help or wisdom in finding my Dad’s half sister who “ moved from NJ to Pennsylvania when her mother died.” Thanks so much, Kathleen Hamler Purchase [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

His parents were James Washington Black (1845-1890) and Olive Thompson (1853-1933). Her parents were William Thompson (1820-1870) and Rebecca Anderson (1821-1870). I verified these dates by their headstones at the Parker Presbyterian Cemetery. I have not been able to find any of her family beyond her parents yet. I do have a list of all her children and most of their children. I have an aunt who is still living who remembers her grandmother, Olive. She has been telling me some stories about her. She was quite a woman. She raised most of her children without her husband. He was killed when a tree fell on him. I hope this has helped you. Please keep in touch. Maybe we can help each other.
