She was the daughter of Samuel Essick and Elisabeth Barford. Married 30 Mar 1847 to John Rogers Gordon, he born 25 Jun 1817 in Uwchlan Twp., died 23 Oct 1877. Ray, Was Leah Essick/Essex the sister to a Rev. H. Essick that performed the marriage of two of my relatives. Joseph H Gordon, to Joanna Marther/Mathers on March 20, 1849.? The Essick name was in the family for two or three generations as a middle name.
