    1. [PACHESTE] Lapp Road Amish Cemetary - E. Whiteland
    2. Wendy Mclean
    3. A few weeks ago there was some discussion about the old cemetary on Lapp Road in East Whiteland. Yesterday, I was wallowing in Baldwin's Book Barn and came across two issues of "Chester County Collections" - a pamphlet series put out by the "Bureau of Historical Research" in West Chester in 1939. Issue number 16 has a lengthy history of the church that used to be at that location. The article was written by Dorothy Lapp. The meeting house was known as "Union Hall" and was alleged to have been the earliest Amish Mennonite Meeting House in the U.S. The congregation also had a school. The article includes names of many members of the congregation, including marriages and childrens' names. Email me if you think you have a connection and want me to take a look. I may get around to scanning it someday if I can get the scanner to work.
