Has any other Ancestry user noticed that the breadth of our basic subscription has been reduced considerably? I've been a subscriber for years - the basic subscription plus the census images. That basic subscription covered all of their databases except for the overseas stuff. Today I discovered that ONLY the census indices are now available to me in my basic subscription. Everything else, marriage and birth records, military records, etc. are now EXTRA. I am incensed. I just sent an email to Ancestry asking when and how this came about - my subscription renewed just the other day - around the end of April. I know last year the cost went up, and now I find I've access to much much LESS! Reminds me of the old bait and switch scams of years ago. If you have the same subscription that I do, check to see what is now available to you. And if you find you're in the same boat as me, send them an email and complain! Don't let this pass unprotested. Probably won't do any good, but still, it's the principle of the thing.
