Just wanted to praise the PA Vital Stats folks. I sent off for 14 death certs postmarked Dec 30th, along with a copy of my daughter's ID and her check, since my driver's license address didn't match my current address (I know, procrastinating yet again!) and they send the info to the address on the ID. Anyway, I received all 14 death certificates, and it has given me SO much new info, it will keep me busy for a while :) I will be sharing some of the info as soon as I get it figured out. I do have to share something now though regarding the death certificate for my elusive Thomas Hess [b abt 1852 Lancaster Co d 4/5/1906 Chester Co]. I've been trying to find his parents names for ages. Understand that the copy I received is a bit blurry and the handwriting a bit difficult to read-father is listed as George Hess b Lancaster Co, but for 3 days I've been trying to read and make sense of the mother's name. Finally figured it out,,,it's "dont know"!!! BUT, Mother "don't know" was born in Lancaster County!! Ah, what fun it is :) Back to the census!! Wanda in "ICY" NC
