Good morning all~ Looking for information on the surname HUNTER in the above mentioned area. My great grandfather was William Hunter Powell, b. 1828 & d. 1869. He was known as Hunter Powell (1850 census)and on a document listed as W. Hunter Powell. On his tombstone he is listed as William Hunter Powell. In his sons obit (my grandfather, Alfred Hunter Powell) it states that my grandfather bought & lived his entire life on the HUNTER POWELL homestead. I have never connected the HUNTER name to my Powell line. I have gone back two more generations on the Powell side, William Ellis Powell & Rebecca Sinn m. 1815 and William Powell & Elizabeth Ellis, m. 1786. Any help would be most appreciated...Curly __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hotjobs: Enter the "Signing Bonus" Sweepstakes http://hotjobs.sweepstakes.yahoo.com/signingbonus
