    3. I am seeking info on Norval S. Kirkner b. 1892 in Chester County. He married Helen D. Wallis and had a daughter, Grace born 1914. I think Norval's father was George W. Kirkner b. apx. 1861. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    3. The 1910 census shows Norval as son of George and Mary Ann: Name: Norval S Kirkner Age in 1910: 18 Estimated birth year: abt 1892 Birthplace: Pennsylvania Relation to Head of House: Son Father's name: George Father's Birth Place: Pennsylvania Mother's name: Mary Ann Mother's Birth Place: Pennsylvania Home in 1910: Tredyffrin, Chester, Pennsylvania Marital Status: Single Race: White Gender: Male Household Members: Name Age George Kirkner 49 Mary Ann Kirkner 38 Walter M Kirkner 20 Norval S Kirkner 18 John H Kirkner 14 Edith Kirkner 8 Everett A Kirkner 6 Calvan W Kirkner 2 George and Mary Ann both married at age 21; he is a laborer. She had 7 births, 6 living children. All in the fam. (and their parents) are b. PA. They are also in Tredyffrin in 1900; Norval is shown as Norman. There is also a son, William, age 2, b. 1897, who obviously did not survive; he does not show up in 1910. This census shows that George and Mary Ann have been married 12 years. There is no 1890 census; it burned, and we would not find them married in 1880. I can probably find George, but not Mary Ann, since we have no way of knowing her maiden name. Now this George would be 19 in 1880. There are 2 in Chester Co.; one is 20 (Charlestown) and one is 15 (E. Whiteland). The 19 yr old is the son of Henry and Jane. George has siblings, Jacob, 13, Joseph, 10, Eber, 6, and Leonard, 4. In 1870, they are in E. Whiteland Twp. Henry 37 Jane 33 Kate 12 (likely married by 1880) George 9 Lydia 5 (obviously did not survive; does not show up in 1880) Jacob 3 I do not see Henry in 1860; to find him, I would have to try variant spellings. In 1850, he is living in E. Whiteland with the John Gill family; he is age 17.
