In case anyone else might be interested, here's some info on Genealogy Day (and I'm hoping I can make it :) - -------- GENEALOGY DAY AT THE STATE LIBRARY OF PENNSYLVANIA September 29, 2007 9:00 AM Registration in the Lobby 9:45 AM Welcome in the Forum Auditorium Caryn Carr, Director, Bureau of State Library Richard L. Lindberg, Genealogy and Local History Librarian 10:00 AM Session 1: Genealogy resources at the State Library – Rich L. Lindberg 11:00 AM Break 11:15 AM Session 2: Sources for Genealogical Research at the Pennsylvania State Archives – Jonathan Stayer, Head of Reference Section, Pennsylvania State Archives 12:15 AM Break for lunch – on your own 1:30 PM Session 3: Pennsylvania German Research – Jim Beidler, Genealogist 2:30 PM Break 2:45 PM Session 4: Scots-Irish Research – Marilyn Cocchiola, Department Head, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh 3:45 PM Conclusion All sessions will be held in the Forum Auditorium. The Forum Building, including the State Library and Auditorium are handicap accessible. The State Library is open for research during Genealogy Day. Anyone who chooses to skip a session may choose to do research at the State Library or State Archives. The State Library is open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and the Pennsylvania State Archives is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
