Please forgive if this doesn't fit Chester Co. ---- I'm passing it along without joining too many lists to do so.......... Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson died Sept. 7, 2007, at Expressions of Enumclaw. She was 95. She was born in Altoona, Pa., in 1912 and moved to Enumclaw with her husband Bob in 1961, where they created the Anderson Rhododendron Garden. She graduated from Penn State in 1932 and taught elementary school in New Jersey and then Enumclaw, until she retired in 1977. She was active in the garden club, Businness and Professional Women, PEO and Calvery Presbyterian Church, and served on the city's library board. She is survived by son John Anderson and wife Doreen of Enumclaw; daughter Nancy Carlson and husband Charles of Denver; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1994. A memorial reception and garden walk is planned for 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Anderson Garden. A celebration of her life will take place at Expressions of Enumclaw from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14. Memorial gifts may be made to Plateau Outreach Ministries, 1362 Cole St., Emumclaw, WA 98022 or to a charity of the donor's choice. This was found in my local paper, the Enumclaw Herald for the week starting Sept. 12th. Personal note ---- if the Anderson Garden is the one I'm thinking of, it's about 5 acres of Rhody's. I've never seen it -- shame on me --- but hear it's truly beautiful. Hope this finds it's way to someone who can use it -- Terri in WA.
