    3. Hi All --- I am trying to solve a puzzle that I have had for several years and am seeking help from anyone who is researching the Shoffner family which settled in the Pikeland and Vincent area of Chester County. I am sending this note to both the Chester County and Montgomery County lists for obvious reasons. My apology to those you receive duplicates of the message. I am descended from Sarah Ann Shoffner who married George King, Jr. They were my 2ggrandparents. Sarah Ann was the daughter of Martin Shoffner and Susanna Kinney and was living in Norristown at the time of their marriage. Martin was the son of Daniel Shoffner and grandson of Martin Shoffner. The first 3 generations of the Shoffner family (Martin, Daniel and Martin) lived in West Pikeland Township and are buried at St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery in Chester Springs. About four years ago, I located a second cousin of my father, Alice Seidts. There had been no contact between our families since the late 40s or early 50s. Alice was the granddaughter of Ida May King. Ida was the daughter of George and Sarah Ann King and sister of my dad's grandfather William B. King, Sr. Alice had much information that she shared with me about the King, Shoffner and her Seidts family. One of the things was the story from when Alice was young and lived in Pottsgrove near Pottstown with her parents. The story was that when she and her father would see s girl by the name of Cora Shoffner and her family (Harry and Martha), he would tell them that she was a cousin of Cora. I found Cora and her family living in Lower Pottsgrove in the 1930 census. Alice ws born in 1925, so that part fits. I tried to trace Harry's line back but was never able to connect him to his parents. I suspected that he was descended from the Abraham Shofnner who was living in Norristown in the 1880 census with what apparently was his two sons James and John. No luck with that. Fast forward to early this past spring when Alice was helping her cousin clean out his attic. This cousin, also a Seidts, was descended from George and Sarah Ann King. They found a picture taken probably in the 1880 to 1900 time frame marked on the back "Abraham Shoffner of Norristown": I am wondering how it came into the family. The only Abraham that I have in my file would be the brother of Martin Shoffner and also a son of Daniel. That would make him Sarah Ann's uncle. When they took the picture out of the frame to scan it for me, they found a school picture (time frame probably from 1900 to 1920 time frame). Nothing was marked on that picture, so we don't have any clue as to who the children are. I am hoping to make contact with some one researching the descendents of the Abraham Shoffner who lived in Norristown so I can break this road block. I am willing to share the pictures with those who might be interested in having a copy. Thanks in Advance Mike Ziegler http://www.mikeznv.com <http://www.mikeznv.com/>
