    1. [PACHESTE] Divorce Records -- Family Genealogists
    2. Hi list, This is a topic regarding information for family genealogist! What advantages do "Divorce Records" have, to a family genealogist? I'm at a loss here, I have never seen a "Divorce Record." It is my understanding some counties in PA have open "Divorce Records." I'm not interested in the counties, I'm interested in knowing what a family historian will find in these records to help him/her/them with their research? I would like to have some feedback here. Please e-mail off the list, if you would feel more comfortable: HMWEBBER@aol,com Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Lancaster, Berks or Philadelphia counties -- have divorce records open to the public. On the other hand, DELAWARE County's "Divorce Records" are NOT open to the public & have demanding restrictions. The State of Pennsylvania, DOES NOT have any restrictions on "Divorce Records" being examined by the public. Please give me some insight, as to why these records would be of importance to you. Thank you, so very much for any ideas or suggestions you might have on this genealogy topic! :) Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) ************** Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. 3. If it is a simple, uncontested divorce, there won't be much. If it gets ugly there can be all kinds of details about money, property, adultery, illness, criminal activity etc. Basically, all of a couple's dirty laundry. You could, for example, discover that grandpa had a child by another woman.
