Bookwise, the only Gable I can find is Israell, and he is much later...1840s., and involved with Methodistism in chester co. Philadelphia Co. Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834 STRICKER, ADAM. Northern Liberties, City of Philadelphia. Blacksmith. December 6, 1804. November 4, 1805. 1.387. Wife: Barbara Stricker if she remains his widow to have income of all estate, if she marries, her thirds. Bequest to son-in-law Daniel Groves. Monies due from Adam Baker. Property in Philadelphia to dau. Elizabeth Groves. To sons Daniel and Adam Stricker property purchased of George and A. Snyder. To dau. Ann Stricker ground next to Jacob Anthony's. Income from Peter Gable. Exec: Wife Barbara and two sons Daniel and Adam Stricker. Witnesses: Joseph Hart, Michael Magrath. This is the only mention of a Peter Gable on the whole CD, so I have included it. There are no Gable mentions in Chester wills, and none in Lancaster from 1832 through 1820. Also, nothing for Glauner or Raeser, but I would imagine these may have other spellings. I just had no luck at all...none of the surnames appeared on the CD of church records of some areas of PA 1600-1800s or PA vital records 1700s-1800s...and, they aren't in F & C's index. http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/isearch there are 135 mentions of a Peter gable in the genweb archives....have you looked through them all? There were no Glauners , but one Raeser, Daniel, listed on the Philadelphia City muster rolls, post Rev. War; http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/pa+index+4529104723038 +F -----Original Message----- From: Kritzberger, Louise <KRITZBEL@mail.rfweston.com> To: Sandra Ferguson <ferg@intelos.net> Date: Monday, July 31, 2000 1:35 PM Subject: RE: [PACHESTE] Chester Co Wills > Hello Sandy - > > I am hoping you can help me but I realize that you probably can't >with my limited information, and I don't know how your CD queries run. > > I have been looking for information on a very elusive man - Peter >Gable b.
