Our original immigrant, John George von Loehr, came to Philadelphia in 1697 from Germany by way of London, England, and settled in Marple Twp. by 1720. The family is described in the Histories of both Chester and Delaware Counties, and in other references, and we now have the advantage of a beautiful web site for this family at http:\\vanleerplus.org . The webmaster is a descendant of the first marriage of John's son, Dr. Bernardus VanLeer, to Mary Branson, and she has concentrated on that side of the family. I am a descendant of Dr. Bernardus and his second wife, Christiana Fuls. I am working to create a web page which will detail these second-marriage descendants, many of whom remain in the SE Pennsylvania area today.
