    3. Have you checked to see if Thomas served in the Rev. War? I find a Thomas Henry, along with William Henry, who are listed as 1st Lieut.. in a group, the Chester County Flying Camp (isn't that a great name!) that was formed July 1, 1776, at a meeting of the Chester County committee, held at Richard Cheyney's house, in Downingtown. Check to see if anyone has use him as their Veteran relative to join the DAR. If so, request a copy of the paperwork of the woman who joined with him, through whichever of his children is your line of descent. William Preston and wife Jane, who arrived in Pa in 1718, from Huthersfield, England, seem to have been the progenitors of a huge family of Prestons in Chester......this may be your family, for there were many, many children and grandchildren.......the name, Levi, appears, but not until 1811, the son of Amos and Margaret Smith Preston......the above Prestons were, indeed, Quakers, and I see them in the Octorara Meeting, Buckingham, and some moving on to Lynchburg, VA and others who were living in Ohio in the 1830s...there are a slew (no Dorothy) listed in the New Garden MM in the late 1700s....The site of the original Preston farm was later called Prestonville. I've looked through the will CD, trying combinations of Henrys, Preston, and Henry with Levi....and looked for Thomas Henry and Dorothy Preston, to no avail. The only marriage I could find for a Thomas Henry, wasn't yours, but was new to me...it said Thomas Henry of Goshen married Elonor Haskins of East Bradford (blacks) in 1811. I've not seen that before and I though it interesting. Sorry I couldn't find the "smoking gun!" S. http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/data/pa+index+138836814611+ F this is the site of 1790 Census HOH , that "says" it includes a Thomas Henry...I didn't bother checking, but thought you might want to. ---Original Message----- From: Gen Rowand <sapphire@whidbey.net> To: Sandra Ferguson <ferg@intelos.net> Date: Thursday, July 27, 2000 12:16 PM Subject: Re: [PACHESTE] Re:Re: How to write a query or ask for a lookup.. >Hi Sandra, I've never asked for info. before although I've been >following all the goings-on.
