Today I looked and didn't find an entry of any kind, for Dorothy Preston...the CD supposedly covers 1750 to 1830, but I don't really know how inclusive it is. If Dorothy had, actually, been a Quaker, then I would think the MM she attended would have had a record of her marrying "out". Not knowing much about Quakerism, I don't know if this sort of information is kept where they attended weekly "meetings", or Monthly Meetings, etc. She would not been disowned" by her parents...it was not a personal, familial thing, but done by the church. If you can figure where the family lived perhaps someone has the minutes, or whatever they're called, for that area. > S. >-----Original Message----- >From: Gen Rowand <sapphire@whidbey.net> >To: Sandra Ferguson <ferg@intelos.net> >Date: Friday, July 28, 2000 11:24 PM >Subject: Re: Henry and Preston > > >>Sandra, Do you think Dorothy Preston's parents disowned her when she >>married Thomas Henry (not a Quaker, at least I'm pretty sure he >>wasn't)If they did disown her, would she have just disappeared from >>records or would there have been a record of the disownment. >>Gen-----Original Message----- >>From: Sandra Ferguson <ferg@intelos.net> >>To: Gen Rowand <sapphire@whidbey.net> >>Cc: PACHESTE-L@rootsweb.com <PACHESTE-L@rootsweb.com> >>Date: Thursday, July 27, 2000 5:16 PM >>Subject: Henry and Preston >> >> >>> Have you checked to see if Thomas served in the Rev.
