Don't people realize they are hurting not just one person but hundreds with such actions. People who volunteer and give their time and resources deserve our help and appreciation and not peoples unkind responses if the information they so badly want is not available, or hurtful emails or posts sent privately or to lists when they feel hurt. I just want to say thanks to you and all the caring people who are helping with lists, look-ups, and just generally helping with information. I have been helped by some but all have been kind to try to help, so here is a big THANKS to everyone. We have all been on both ends of similar situations and I hope we are all mature enough to "forgive and forget" and treat all people with whom we come into contact with respect. Please, lets get back to genealogy and the history of the area and it's people. I feel things have gotten out of hand; but, altered emails are a form of extortion and this type of action will hurt everyone. If you have to be afraid to post because an altered email might be sent on as one that came from you or was sent on as one that came to you, all lists and exchange of ideas and information will suffer. No person should be afraid to respond to a list and people will not use lists if they feel threatened. We should not tolerate altered emails or private emails being sent to a list. This should not even have to be said; but some people seem to have forgotten their manners not to mention their morals.
