    3. I know we have some Landis researchers out there. I'd like to know if anyone knows where Jacob Landis who married Mary Cochenhour between 1783 - 1794 fits into the Landis family. He is mentioned in a few deeds as the husband of Mary Cochenhour (all sorts of spellings). They inherited land some years after the death of her father, John Cochenhour. He died intestate about 1780 or just before then. The land was in Coventry - about 327 acres or thereabouts. It was previously owned by John's father, Henry Cochenhour and previous to that was owned by the Enger family (before 1754). Also mentioned in these deeds as well as some orphan court records is the widow of John Cochenhour, Sarah. It appears that she may have remarried someone with the surname Slifer/Sliver. Possibly an Abraham Slifer. Time period would be about 1780 - 1782. Any help with this particular Jacob Landis, the Cochenhour family or the possible marriage to the Slifer family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
