You might check that county out. Futhey and Cope wrote a very comprehensive history of Chester Co. >> Hi Arlene Thank you for the info. I have a BRINTON surname used as a middle name in my ancestors family. John Davis HUGHES was b. 1824/25 in Bellefonte, PA, ( Centre Co.) married Hannah HICKS in 1846, the daughter of Isaac HICKS of Maryland and Hannah LAMBORN of Chester Co. (John Davis Hughes's parents are listed in the LAMBORN family History Book by Samuel LAMBORN as Henry and Martha Jane HUGHES. ) There was a John and James HUGHS/HUGHES in Centre and Northumberland Co in the late 1700's. ~ possibly the same one that were in Chester Co.) Family History is that they were Welsh. John and Hannah HUGHES named one of their sons ~ Isaac BRINTON HUGHES. Other middle names are CHAMBERS, DURBIN, and MILTON I thought maybe it was the Hughes family connected to the Brintons, but it also could be the LAMBORN line. Does anyone have any info? Thanks!
