2. Hi Dorothy, You may want to visit the Delaware County Historical Society to do genealogy research on your SCOTT & CAROTHERS. There is not just one person you can ask that would know all the surnames of everyone who lived in Dela. Co. This is research you would have to do yourself. PA DCHS http://www.delcohistory.org/dchs/ I do believe Frank VATTELANA, Jr., Chester Co., PA, has a Civil War picture on a CAROTHERS. You may want to contact him at: penn97th@epix.net (610) 932-3803. Frank is very interested in buying, coping & selling Civil War Pictures. Anyone who has an interest in the Civil War may want to contact him. Please let him know I referred you & he does great lectures on the Civil War! happy hunting, Helen (DCGS) In a message dated 8/29/0 10:24:26 AM, Irishlovey writes: << Dear Helen, I've just read your interesting and somewhat enlightening letter about Delaware County. I'm sure this will encourage many that have ancestors from that area. My question is, where or who do I contact to see if any of my ancestors lived or came from Delaware County? My surnames that I'm searching for is SCOTT and CAROTHERS. Supposedly, John, s/o Andrew Scott was from Chester Co. Pa. The Carothers were from Wyoming & Cumberland Co's. Pa. Some say they came in from NJ. others from Pa. & Md. They were early Colonist's and Patriots. Thank you for any help. Sincerely, Dorothy Cote <<Irishlovey@aol.com > >>
