    3. I just got back my book DESCENDANTS OF JOEL BAILY, by Cope. He lists the Wiltshire Friends records, all those mentioning Bailys, and the Records of Bromhan Parish....the earliest Balyly marriage listed was for William Bayly, of Catcomb, 2 MO 3, 1671, to Susannah Skeate of Foxham. The earliest death is of a William Baily, 9 MO 25, 1675, of Catcombe, carpenter. The earliest birth, as listed in the parish records of Bromhan, Wiltshire, is 1605, Oct 6; Joel, the sonne of Thomas Bayly and of Ann his wife Buryed. Our Joel Baily was baptized in 1658, Jan 29; Joel Baylie sonne of Daniell Baylie. It also lists the baptism 1567, March 7th ; Thomas Bayly, the son of Willm. Bayly...there is no record of any marriage of Willm. Bayly, and later, Cope simply lists the first generation as William...no wife mentioned at al.....so unknown it is! I can't remember the original question....something about who had what children. If you're interested in any particular one, let me know.......there's sure to be more....This is what Cope lists for the various folks; children of Thomas and Anne Bayly; Anne..bapt ..12-23-1598 Daniel bap 3-14-1601 Joel (perhaps twin of Daniel, being baptized on the same date) Thomas Bayly bapt 9-14-1603 Rebecca bapt. 3-2-1605 children by 2nd wife Jane; John pap 2-22-1606 buried 3-7-1606 John bap 3-29-1608 (perhaps the same John Bayly of Bromham, whose will proved in 1675) Children of Daniel and Mary Bayly of Westbrook; Thomas. Daniel.. broadweaver of Westbrook, died 1732, bought land in pa but remained in England Mary...mentioned in her father's will Dorothy....ditto Ann bapt 1-3-1654 died young Josias..bap 2-15-1656 died young or unmarried Joel...bap. 1-29-1658 Ann bap 11-30-1662 married ? Blake Isaac Bayly, bap. 6-14-1666 died 1727, leaving widow Jane and children Daniel, Ann (hunt), E;Elizabeth (Moore), Joel, John, Mary and Isaac children of Joel and Ann Short Baily; Mary Ann Daniel Isaac Joel Thomas John Josiah There is, of course, more on all of the above....if I could just remember what children were those in question!! S. An interesting aside I found, while looking through the book...A fella born in West Nottingham in 1717, was writing of his mother, who, when 12 to 14 years old, was forcibly taken, along with many others, carried on board a ship, and brought to Pa. She was then sold to Caleb Pusey, near Chester, and served him for 5 years, before then marring William Cole. Can you imagine?.....and what of the poor mother, who probably never knew what happened to her daughter...... -----Original Message----- To: Sandra Ferguson <ferg@intelos.net> Date: Friday, August 25, 2000 2:32 AM Subject: Re: William Baily >What do you think?
