There seem to be at least 2 Chamberlain families in Chester, at the time period you're interested in, and earlier. One line descends from a Robert Chamberlin, of Concord, who was the son of Elizabeth, wife of a Francis Hickman, by her former husband. He was born around Marlborough, in Wiltshire England. Some of Elizabeth's children came to PA before her, and her will is dated 1698. Robert married Mary? and had the following boy children, to carry on this line; John b. 1692; Robert 1694; Jacob 1702; Joseph. John, Robert and Joseph all married and had male children. On 1686 Robert Sr. bought 100 acres in concord from , from Wm. Brinton. From 1723 to 1755 Robert Sr. and Robert Jr are listed a well to do landholders in Concord Twp. The second group seemto descend from Jonas Chamberlain, who came from Ireland, bringing a certificate from Friends of Edenderry, dated 11-5-1731, and settled in Sadsbury.
